can you help me how to install themes??
When I download themes from web, over pc and try to install them on my mobile phone
It says "Installation Security error, unable to install"
please help

try installing another theme..if it is working..maybe sis file is theme is not compatible..
some aint missing a good thing til its gone...

can anyone give me step by step instructions on how i install these things?? i was able get as far as the message options & tapped save attachment & that as far i i got,can't figure out the rest.

After you saved your attachments, open the music player app.
Scroll the top to make sure "all" is clicked on.
Then find your the attachment that you saved and click on it.
Click the menu button and then "set as" then "phone ringtone" or "caller ringtone".

How to install maps on Nokia 6303 classic

I recently formatted my memory card and now want to re-install the maps application.
I've downloaded and installed Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.2.42 but when I click into maps I get the message...
"Cannot find maps or voice guidance files in your device. This is due to either of the following reasons: - Your device does not support the Nokia Maps application. - The maps and voice guidance files in your device are corrupted."
I've followed the instructions in the help file (below) but still no joy in getting the maps app installed...
"If you see a notification in Nokia Ovi Suite Maps that your device's maps or voice guidance files may have been corrupted, switch the device's USB mode to the mass storage USB mode. Then, from your device's memory card, look for a folder named Cities and a file named qf, and delete them. After that, switch back to the PC Suite USB mode. Refer to the user guide of your device for more detailed information on selecting or changing the USB mode."
Can anyone offer any advice on how to get maps installed?

Good question as early versions of Nokia Maps required you to use "Mass storage" mode to recognise memory card whereas later used "PC Suite " mode. Pretty sure that OVI Suite will throw up connected in incompatible mode if you connect as "Mass storage"

Hans - I have added the README file to the Forms demo page - this should be "live" within the next 24 hours.
Incase you need them now:
1) Download Jinitiator 1.3.1.9 from OTN of you don't have it installed
2) Unzip the file into a suitable temporary folder e.g. c:\temp\9idemos
3) Start OC4J befor installing
4) Start the Universal installer from the Oracle Installation Products start
menu option
5) Point the installer at the (c:\temp\9idemos\)products.jar file and select
your iDS Oracle Home as the home to install into
6) Follow the installer instructions
7) Read the readme file launched by the install
8) Click on the Desktop icon or Start menu option to launch the demos.
Restrictions
This set of demos is only intended for installation into an Oracle9iDS
Oracle Home on Windows NT or 2000

[SOLVED] How to install themes in awesome window manager?

Hello world!
I am trying to customize my awesome (literally and figuratively) system, and I keep breaking my rc.lua (luckily I keep backups). The theme I'm trying to install is Darklooks. Following the directions in This Article: http://solitudo.net/software/awesome/themes/
I cloned the themes repository and copied Darklooks to my ~/.config/awesome/themes folder, then following the advice of the arch wiki, I changed a line in my rc.lua from
beautiful.init("/usr/share/awesome/themes/default/theme.lua")
to
beautiful.init(awful.util.getdir("config") .. "/themes/Darklooks/theme.lua")
Unfortunately, when I restart awesome, I get a ton of errors, to where I'm having trouble picking out any of them to read, but everything that is normally colored is black, like it's missing a color value.
Any thoughts, hints, suggestions, or solutions would be much appreciated.
On another note: This is somewhat related, but I'm not really sure if this belongs in another thread, so If I need to edit this out and start a new thread, please tell me:
What exactly will the theme change? I know it will change the panel colors and such, but will it also change icons or do I install other icons separately? Also, If I were to add an icon theme, would that affect the indicators I have on the panel? For example, I have wicd-gtk and a battery monitor (I think it's batterymon?) that start with awesome and display on the panel, but the icons for those on the panel are pretty ugly. Is that something that would be changed by adding an icon pack, or is how they appear determined by the application itself?
Once again, I appreciate any and all solutions, opinions, etc.

Chances are that the theme you want to use has not been updated to work with the latest version of awesome.
Remember ever version change in awesome comes with code changes that require you to re-edit/write your rc.lua, I would see if you can find an email address for the author & contact him/her directly to see if it is compatible.

I need helps on installing software on N73
I downloaded some software from Nokia.com. All the file extensions are .SIS. For example, a dictionary and Time Zone Upgrader.. so on. I have no problems to connect the phone to my PC.
My question: WHERE DO I STORE THE FILESON THE PHONE? I tried to put them all in the root directory on the SD card. It didn't work.

How to install or configure nokia n82 as a modem?

Hi, recently trying to use my phone nokia n82 to connect to my laptop for internet access. My phone have 3G service. But the problem is when i open the "one touch access" software which provide by nokia, the windows show me that there was no modem install on my device. Then i download the modem .inf file from the website. But still the same cannot get access. I wonder how to configure or what is the proper way to do this kind of setup? May i know which version of pc suite are you using. Try with the latest PC Suite(7.1).
this type of error comes when the relevent modem drivers and cable drivers are not installed.
To check whether the modem drivers are installed
Goto to control panel and check in phone and modem option whether N82 modem drivers are installed or not.
if it is not there the log in to europe.nokia.com/software and select the relevent software and install.

Hi I have copied a .COD file from my desktop to my memory card, but I am unable to see the .COD File when I access my BB device.

You must have more than the cod file to install a theme. You must also have the ALX file that comes along with the cod file.
ALX and COD files are for installing from the Desktop Manager > Application Loader. Find the ALX file and install from there.

You may either goto http://store.ovi.com/ thru' your Phone browser or use the Nokia Store application on your phone..Login and select the Application you want. Select Download (..if its a paid application complete the formalities of the Payment) and the application will start downloading. When complete it will proceed for installation..so follow the instruction in your phone display.
Other way is to http://store.ovi.com/ on you PC.. Login, Select the application and click 'Download' and it will give you an option to send link thru' SMS. When you receive the link ..Open it and follow instructions..
If you search for any application thru' Google and want to download / Buy it from the Developers' or other site..first download it to the PC. Then connect your phone to PC and Double click on the application installer. It will automatically activate the Nokia Suite (..hopefully installed on your PC) and then follow instructions..

Maybe I didn`t understood you 100% clear, but will try to help you.
1.When you are trying to transfer new theme to your E90 you need PC Suite and to be sure that your E90 is connected to the PC.
2. Maybe the theme you are trying to install in E90 is "old" - in this case you need to change the date in your E90 for example - 1 year less (2008 to 2007) and try to install the theme. After the installation you need only to change the date to the present and everithing will be OK.
3. I am not sure 100% for themes, but there is a restriction to install only programs with certificate. You can change this by going to Menu-Settings-Applications-Installs-Install SW in which you should change "Only certified" to "All".
If your problem is still present after you try the mentioned by me I think that you can try to flash (reinstall) the firmware of the phone and try again.
