How to install third party fonts into Photoshop CS6 cloud?

Hi, in need of assistance.  My previous version of PhotoShop was CS5, and I have my photography logos created using the font "chisel thin".  Now that I have a new macbook pro laptop and am also now using the cloud version of PhotoShop CS6, when I open my saved logos on the cloud, it does not recognize the font "chisel thin"?  So, is there a way to download the "chisel thin" font so it is available for me to use on the cloud?  If so, how do I go about doing it?  I'm not super tech savy, so clear, exact detailed instructions on how to download / update the "chisel thin" font would be very much appreciated!
Thanks for your help,
Mike (McDermott Photography)

Thank you Jeff.
Welcome to the forum McDermottPhotography,
You will need to download and install the ttf (true type font again) on your new machine. I am not sure if the following is the font that you are referring to, but here is one named similiarly http://www.fontpalace.com/font-details/Chisel+Thin+Normal/.

    Thank you.

    Hi ,
    Your windows is 32 bit or 64 bit .
    If win 7 32 bit
    Just copy the plugin from PSE 11 and paste it to PSE 13 plug-in folder.
    If win 7 64
    PSE 11 and PSE 13 are installed as a 32 and 64 bit respectively , so you need to install plug-in again.

  • How to Call third party Jar into Application

    Hi Can any Expert help ?
    I want to put third party Jar into my application but i have some problem occur.
    1. how to call jar with parameter in application ?
    2. when i exit the third party jar task, it will exit my main task too. How to set my main tast exit stats standalone ?
    3. I have over 10 jar files in one application, how can i set a classpath for client to call JNLP, instread of load all jar to client before run.
    Thanks.
    Sanki Poon ([email protected])

    1) Sounds like you are trying to launch the third party from it's application main instead of using it as an API How does your code interact with it or is that not important?. You don't call a jar, you load a class. You could use a exec http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/Runtime.html to run the java launcher and pass it all it's command line stuff(But this may not be possible security wise via WebStart).
    2) if it is launched in the same JVM and it calls a System.exit there is nothing you can do about your app closing too. It would need to be in another instance of the JVM
    3) Under the resources tag you can have as many jar tags as needed.
        <resources>
            <j2se version="1.5.0" java-vm-args="-esa -Xnoclassgc"/>
            <jar href="/jsf-wita/apps/MathMLWebEditor.jar"/>
        </resources>

  • How to install Type 1 fonts into JRE?

    I am trying to generate Type 1 font postscript file by java. And I have successfully installed Type 1 fonts in both Windows and Linux operation system. But when I use following Java code to display the available system fonts, there are no Type 1 fonts displayed.
    GraphicsEnvironment ge = GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment();
    Font[] fonts = ge.getAllFonts();
    for (int i = 0, length = fonts.length; i < length; i++) {
    System.out.println(fonts.getName());
    Then I copied all the Type 1 fonts to JRE/lib/fonts dir and modified the fonts.dir to append Type 1 fonts information. But preceding java code returns the same result to me, also no Type 1 fonts displayed.

  • How to install third-party SSD as boot disk in MacPro 5,1

    I had so much trouble with this that I thought I'd post a recipe that others could follow.
    The first thing you should know is that it's not possible to get a non-Apple SSD recognized in a sled slot of a MacPro 5,1.  It just doesn't see them at all, even if (as some suggested) previously partitioned as a GUID partition (which works in a MacBook Pro, but not a MacPro 5,1).  This is true even with the most up-to-date EFI firmware.  You're going to have to use a PCIe adapter card.
    The next thing you should know is that not all PCIe SATA3 SSD adapter cards are bootable on a MacPro 5,1.  For instance, even though the Sonnet Tempo SSD is advertised as working for a boot drive in a Mac Pro, it actually works in any Mac Pro *except* the 5,1.  In a 5,1 drives on the card do not work as boot drives, either with option boot or if you select it as the startup drive after booting from something else.  Also, EFI boot is extended by about a minute -- not the end of the world, but an annoyance.  The Tempo card does work well for add-on drives, its very fast.  I am pretty sure the Tempo Pro variant of the card also does not work, as the Sonnet support guys told me that they have to use use rEFIt for booting 5,1 MacPros in their lab.  I imagine if the Pro worked they would have pointed me at that instead.  (Note that rEFIt has been superseded by rEFInd, http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/.  I didn't try using rEFIt or rEFInd because I found a better way, but if you want to dual-boot to Linux those utilities are apparently Da Bomb.)
    An Apricorn Velocity x2 Duo card *will* boot, and does not have a long EFI boot delay.  That card is a little more expensive than the Tempo SSD (but not the Tempo Pro SSD) but it works properly.  It's worth the extra money, especially since it's the only card I could find that explicitly claimed to work as a boot drive on a 5,1 MacPro.  And it does.
    One caveat: With the Tempo SSD the SSD drives were invisible until repartitioned in GUID format, which also happens if you try to use a third-party SSD inside a Macbook Pro.  I found that I could repartition one drive, a Crucial MX500 960GB, using a run-of-the-mill USB SATA2 adapter.  Unfortunately this solution did not work with a Samsung Evo 1TB drive, I had to use an external USB3 enclosure.  Moreover, the enclosure supported both FireWire and USB3 but FireWire did not work.  This FireWire issue might be due to the super-cheap enclosure I was using, so YMMV, but keep in mind that it's possible that you'll need either a USB3 expansion card in the MacPro, or a different Mac, to perform the initial repartition to GUID format.
    It's possible that SSDs would be visible on the Velocity card even before repartitioning, I don't know as both of my drives had been repartitioned prior to trying the Velocity.  So, it might work ... but you might need to partition externally.
    I don't know if pre-partitioning is necessary with the Velocity card, as I only ever tried pre-partitioned drives with it.  If you try the Velocity and the drive isn't seen, that's the problem and you'll have to use an external SATA adapter of some sort to repartition before installing on the Velocity card.
    After partitioning the drive and installing on the Velocity card, it worked fine.  Yosemite installed properly and with reboot it blazed.
    Next up, TRIM support.  For some reason known only to Apple, the Apple AHCI driver refuses to enable TRIM support for anything other than Apple drives.  It's possible that there are or were bugs in some of the early SSDs and Apple is just playing it safe, although I would have preferred to have the option to enable TRIM or not if that's the case.  Unfortunately there is no such option, you have to use a substitute AHCI driver.
    Unfortunately if you're using Yosemite you cannot use a substitute driver without disabling kext extensions, because Apple will not sign anyone else's driver (at least not at the time of this writing).  That's unfortunate, I would prefer to have signed extensions if I could, but realistically speaking you're no worse off in terms of security than you were with Mavericks so it's not the end of the world.  With a little luck Apple will either start supporting TRIM on third-party drives or starts signing third-party drivers sometime in the future.
    So: Before you can start TRIMming drives, you first need to run this command, or something like it:
    sudo nvram boot-args=“kext-dev-mode=1”
    I rather like seeing the boot process, rather than just the Apple logo, so I use this:
    sudo nvram boot-args=“-v kext-dev-mode=1”
    I tried both Trim Enabler (http://www.cindori.org/software/trimenabler/) and Chameleon SSD Optimizer (http://chameleon.alessandroboschini.com/).  As of this writing the Chameleon driver is more up-to-date, and comes with some additional utilities that are pretty nice.  Take your pick, though, both worked fine in my experiments.
    With a TRIM-enabled AHCI driver, kext signing disabled, a Velocity card, and your favorite SSD you are in business.
    The only weird thing after all of this is that non-boot SSDs on the Velocity card (or on the Tempo) are ejectable.  As far as I can determine there’s no way to mark them as non-ejectable.  That’s a minor annoyance compared to the performance you get out of the SSD, though.
    Because, with this stuff in there, yowza is the MacPro 5,1 a fast machine.  You Will Like It.  Enjoy!

    Then you should read these.

    This was strange but has to do with how startup disk and nvram interact
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1795765
    I think your problems were solvable and not that the Sonnet card and 5,1 is not bootable, in fact the 5,1 is easier, there are more supported cards.
    I have the 1,1 where the Sonnet Pro is recommended but for data only and are not bootable because of the 32-bit EFI firmware. NOT the 4,1 and 5,1. The 2008's are problem child and have a mix of PCIe 1.1 slots, first implementation of EFI64 that also has problems. Also the 4,1 has two PCIe 2.x slots 3 and 4 that share a controller but that simply limits bandwidth.
    I would have left the TRIM support and NVRAM changes in Yosemite to a separate thread if you wanted to focus on the Sonnet Tempo Pro support in Mac Pro 2010-12 5,1s.
    Also the make of SSD can vary and they also have their own firmware as do bootable controllers along with the EFI of the Mac, all of which have to work together.  Meaning it might be that Samsung 840 va 840 EVO vs 840 Pro will all be slightly different but my experience is Samsungs work well (as do others like Crucial with the proper firmware - and there was/is an issue with the firmware of the Samsung 840 but not with booting).
    The PCIe card gets seen and treated as external and therefore 'eject' but of course you can't when it is the system boot drive.
    One thing I found last week and meant to mention:  After installing or changing PCIe cards, RESET SMC made all the difference in the world with the long boot delay. Some PCIe cards will add a few seconds, system has to search the device tree which now shows another controller with multiple devices - and sometimes NVRAM and SMC are what I will call "dirty" and need to be rebuilt and reset.

  • How to package third party jars into an ejb application?

    Hello everyone, thanks for reading...
    Does anybody can give me any hints or directions on how to include inside my .ear or .jar all the dependencies of all my EJBs?
    I need to deploy inside my ejb.jar or application.ear all the dependencies. The thing it's that I have a services-ejb.jar and it depends on several jars: services-api.jar, services-util.jar, ws-client.jar, etc.
    I read somewhere that these jars should be inside the META-INF/lib directory inside the ejb-jar. Is this correct?
    I deploy to Oracle Application Server and I'm using EJB 3.0.
    Thanks in advice.

    IDE and Maven have nothing to do with it.
    You need to look at your Oracle AS docs and put the 3rd party JARs in the directory where it expects to find them. I don't know where that is. Most Java EE app servers are different. WebLogic uses an APP-INF directory at the top level of the EAR file. I don't believe it's a Java EE standard. There's more variability in EAR arrangements than there is for WAR files. Those are standard.

  • When installing third party software, how do I temporarily turn off the factory installed virus sw and firewall?

    when installing third party software, how do I temporarily turn off the factory installed virus sw and firewall?  Is it necessary on a Mac to do so?  I come from the Windows world and am still in the learning curve on the Mac.

    Correct.  I have not installed ANY other software for anti-virus, etc.  I want to install a Synch app for my HTC phone to sych with MS Outlook 2011 installed on my Mac.    HTC will not synch with it otherwise.  That was really the basis for my question....if installing a non Apple app can be done without messing with factory settings on the Mac.  In Windows I remember that I needed to disable Norton and the Firewall in order for installation to occur.

  • ADF mobile: How to pack a third party jars into apk

    Hi Expert,
    I am using Jdeveloper + ADF mobile 11.1.2.4 to develop an android application. In this application, I need to call some functions in the third party jar files.  I need to add the third party jars into my apk so that those classes can be found during runtime.
    I followed section 17.1.1.1 to add the libraries into my project. However, after I deployed my app to the emulator and tried to run it, it reported "encountered error: classes not found". And I also found that the third party jars don't exist in libs/ directory of the apk. Do you know how to solve the problem: How to reference a third party jar files in my app and make sure it works?
    Thanks,

    Create a /libs directory within  Android project directory and copy the JAR files to /libs.
    To build.properties add
    external.libs.dir=libs

  • How to install Epson ICC profiles using Photoshop CC?

    How to install Epson ICC profiles ussing Photoshop CC on Mac?

    Danny,
    Just stop and think for a moment. Firstly, it's not Rocket science to produce an icc profile, and does not involve the profile having to physically 'fit' into a pre-formed item such as the razor blade analogy you used.
    Secondly, If the likes of Epson and HP did produce printer profiles for all makes of paper, can you imagine how much more product they would sell. Printer companies are currently missing out on substantial amounts of income at the moment because the cost of their inks is more expensive than gold! Thus, the third party ink manufacturers - although not producing an ink as good as the original - are earning large sums of money and once again this is income loss to the major printer manufactures.  Can you imagine what would happen if certain vehicles would only run on  a specific fuel? I don't mean Diesel or Petroleum, but different manufacturers, Shell, Texaco, Murco etc.
    At the end of the day the only person who is adversely affected by this business model is us, the consumer.
    I really don't think they need you to be standing up for them Danny.

  • Installed third party applications not showing Application folder?

    Hi,
    i've installed third party application outside from AppStore. i chosen "Anywhere" option on Gate keeper. however its not proper installation process hence how can i install? if i install third party application which is get .DMG file from some one else and installed. if i install those application its not displaying inside the Application folder on my Mac OS X 10.8.3.
    Please anyone suggest me,
    Thanks in Advance,
    Suresh Balakrishnan.

    if i double click on Xcode icon, Xcode application lauched immediatly. however Xcode is not there in the Application folder.
    Because you didn't drag and drop copy the app into the Applications folder, so your running it from the DMG instead.
    A DMG is basically a disk image volume, like any other seperate hardware volume like a USB thumb drive, a external hard drive, or another partition, except it's virtual and based all in software.
    If you don't know your way around a computer you shouldn't be using Xcode to begin with.

  • Third-party font-suitcase migration from iMac G3 to iMac G4 Classic Environment

    Hello,
    I thought I was all set ... successfully installed Appleworks 6.0.3 in the Classic Environment on my "new" Sunflower iMac G4 so I can still use my 3 macros and 2 custom buttons ... and imported my user dictionary as well. That was last week. (Hard drive on G3 is failing or I wouldn't have made the switch.)
    It turns out I am using one third party font, two suitcases: Merriam and Merriam-Webster that the G4 will not recognize even in the Classic Environment. I spent hours yesterday reading about font issues and trying various things but didn't find anything that seems to apply directly to my situation.
    I obtained these fonts from Merriam-Webster back in 2003 as part of downloading a trial dictionary.... I don't even remember. It turns out that one of these fonts proved useful last year ... providing an elegant way of making fractions... instead of 1/2, it would appear as superscript 1 over subscript 2 (without going to the trouble of creating super- and sub-scripts)  ... nice in a report where I have mixed fractions for acreage, linear measurements, and fractional ownership in halves, thirds, fourths, and fifths. (In Times New Roman, these combinations look like "azr", "azs", "azt", etc. ). I can certainly go back and manually (no format search-and-replace capability available in AW 6.0.3) replace these instances with superscripts and subscripts in Times New Roman, but I was hoping to be able to make the MerriamIPA font available in Classic. (Another option, to use the fractions available in Lucida Grande, seemed promising, but LG appears to be limited to OS X.)
    What I have read indicates that you need to know what sort of font you are dealing with. The Merriam font suitcase looks just like all the other font suitcases on my G3 iMac, the little suitcase icon with an A on it. Inside, there are three fonts, each with the typical icon ... a page with the upper left corner turned down and a letter A on it. The Merriam suitcase contains 144 kb, the MerriamIPA font, 43 kb. The Managing Fonts help file on my iMac G3 says you can use Get Info in Finder to determine the font type. All I see is "font" or "font suitcase" for both the Merriam files/suitcases and several other native fonts.
    I copied (using a thumb drive) the Merriam and Merriam-Webster font suitcases to   /System Folder/Fonts    on the G4 iMac. The suitcase displays zero bytes and file type Unix Executable File. I tried copying just the font independent of the suitcase. Same result.  I tried appending .DFONT,  .OTF,  .TTF   ... various font file extensions and was able to fake the system into thinking what sort of font file it is, but could not get the font to appear in AW 6.0.3.
    I won't need this after I complete final edits on a 300-page report I have been working on for ten years (replete with drawings, footnotes, tables, etc.) At this point I'm anxious to get back to the edits and be done with migration issues! Hope someone can help.
    -Dottie

    I gave up on using a different font or figuring out if I could use Times New Roman's built-in fractions visible in Font Book (as unicodes) and did a work-around based on Michael Wasley's tips in this discussion.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/11622842#11622842
    I adapted it however and think it looks a little better.
    Font: Times New Roman 12 point
    I used the fraction bar in 12-point (Shift-Option-1) for automatic kerning.
    For the numerator, I changed the font style to superior (12-point).
    For the denominator, I changed the font style to subscript (Shift-Command-hyphen) and reduced the font size to half, or 6-point using the short-cut Shift-Command-<.
    When the fractions occured in my footnotes (9-point), I used 4-point in the denominator; 10- and 11-point, I used 5-point in the denominator. This seemed to produce the best result when printing.
    Thank you, Michael.
