How to install two monitors--

-HP pavilion h8xt, two acer monitors (w. both vga and dvi and also an add'l dvi plug on the graphics card. Monitors came with a double ended dvi cord. Can I plug one monitor into the dvi of the graphic card and the other monitor into the other dvi plug on the computer back? I understand that once they come up, I must do some adjustment in the settings but I am not sure how to comfigure the plug in of the monitor cords to start with. Thanks for any help-

Since you didn't supply the model number and/or product number we can only guess at what your computer's spec are. Please provide this information for more detailed assistance.
Guessing that you both integrated graphics on the motherboard and a discrete video card, NO you can't use both sets of outputs at the same time. With a video card installed, the integrated ports are disabled and are not usable. The following appear to have been video graphics card option in the h8xt series;
1GB DDR3 Radeon HD 6570 [DVI, HDMI. VGA adapter]
2GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 530 [DVI, HDMI, VGA adapter]
1GB DDR3 Radeon HD 6670 [DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA]
3GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 545 [DVI, HDMI, VGA]
1GB DDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti [2 DVI, mini-HDMI. VGA adapter]
1GB DDR5 Radeon HD 6850 [2 DVI, 2 mini-DP, HDMI. VGA adapter]
1.5GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 [2 DVI, HDMI, VGA adpt]
The 2 listed in above in RED will support 1 monitor using the DVI-to-VGA adapter and the other monitor using a HDMI-to-DVI cable. The 5 listed in above in GREEN will support 2 monitors using the DVI.

I have a Macbook Pro through which I want to extend the displays to two individual monitors.
The two monitors should show two different windows which is opened through my macbook.

You can use a USB 2.0/3.0 to HDMI/DVI interface. You might also consder Thundebolt to HDMI/DVI.
The MBP 13" will support three screens (two external) and the MBP 15" will support four screen (three external).

How to install two instance on one server

I want to install two instance on one server.
I have installed IDES server ( win 2k3 64 bit with SQL 2005 ECC 6.0)
Drive is
c: 20 GB for os
d: 5 gb swap
e: 5 gb swap
f: 450 GB database.
The same server i want to installed SOLMAN 4.0 with sql 2005.
Please suggest me how to installed without affcting IDES server.

You only have to consider 2 things :
1. SAPTRANSHOST entry in hosts file will be the same for both systems
this mean that both systems will share the same transport directory

This is not true. Your SAPTRANSHOST will remain the same, but you can (and should) specify independent trans directories with the DIR_TRANS and and EPS profile parameters to designate where the instance trans files should be located (i.e. /usr/sap/trans_SID). I recommend you make this change in the existing host first, and then clear out the trans directory. Let the 2nd instance install into it and then alter that one too (thereby moving the files to the new /usr/sap/trans_SID2).

yes, u can have more databases on a single machine and they can be of different versions.
You have to use and initialize the correct ORACLE_HOME to create the DB of the version U use.
For ex, u have 2 homes:
C:\Oracle\Ora817 8i home and C:\Oracle\ora920 9i home
Normally, using OFA, imagine that You want create 2 db, TEST_8I for 8i home and TEST_9I for the 9i home, You shold have:
C:\Oracle\Admin\TEST_8I\<<OFA DIRS>> and C:\Oracle\Oradata\TEST_8I for 8i DB adn C:\Oracle\Admin\TEST_9I\<<OFA DIRS>> and C:\Oracle\Oradata\TEST_9I for the 9i version.
It is important, when You create the DB, that u use the executables of C:\Oracle\Ora817\bin to create 8i db and C:\Oracle\Ora920\bin for the 9i one.
Then U can use the 9i listener to manage both instances

Here is my scenario... I am a video chat host on different sites. I recently purchased two of the same Creative Live! Ultra webcams. When I try to broadcast on the 2nd site with the 2nd camera the other goes fuzzy and starts freaking out.
Is there a way to install two versions of the driver and run both cameras at once without conflict? Please advise what to do since I would like to use these cams.

Hi, i don't know the aswer but i've the same question. I'm about to get 4 webcams, I think live! Ultra is the best model in market but i've to be sure if there's a way to plug 4 webcams together.

How to use two monitors with my Mac mini

I have a Mac mini and using a 20" Samsung Monitor with it which works well. I also have my 40" LCD Samsung telly, set up next to it. Whenever i watch a DVD using my Mac i have to swap over the cables. Is there a way of getting the right cables etc and making it so i would be able to watch a dvd on the 40" and still use the 20" surfing the net etc. I had a similar set up with my old windows laptop, but cant seem to work out how do it with the mac. Both monitors have modern sockets, the 40in has HDMI/DVI IN and AGV, the 20" has AGV and HDCP/DVI IN. Many thanks.

To the best of my knowledge there is no way to use dual displays on the Mini. You may be able to find some adapter that will allow you to physically connect two displays, but they will be mirrored, not spanned.
To do what you describe would take spanning, which the Mini is not capable of doing. Unless something has changed recently,..

How to install two iTunes on same PC for two iPods?

My family now proudly owns 2 iPods, but we only one PC. So it needs to host two iPods, with their resepctive iTunes on it.
I thought this was going to cause problems, and worried that installing iTunes for the most recently purchased iPod would overwrite the existing programme, wipe the music off it and cause my middle daughter to kill me. The guy in the shop said, no problem - create a new User Account and install the new iTunes on that, and it would be OK. So I did.
I got a bit worried when the install prog wanted me to put the new iTunes into the same folder that the old one was in, (even though I was logged in as a different, new user) so I found a new location for it and went ahead.
Guess what - it wiped the old iTunes anyway. When I opened up the old one, it had been overwritten anyhow.
I did a system restore to try and get it back to the previous setting - deleting the new user I had created. And went back into the old version of iTunes to see if the music files had come back. But it wouldn't even run - saying that some files were now missing.
This is doing my head in, it's happened before (and I had to buy Copypod to restore the stuff on my iPod).
How can you get two copies of iTunes on the same PC running two separate iPods?!! And how can I get the overwritten files back?

You don't need two copies of iTunes. There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Have a look at the article linked below. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries as each account using iTunes will have it's own iTunes Music Folder. Method two is to set your preferences so each iPod is updated with only certain playlists within one library. In my macbook, I was using Server 2003, installed through Bootcamp. For some reason I urgently needed to install Windows XP on another partition i.e, I needed two operating systems natively without being used VMware.
Could you please post how could I succeed this through Bootcamp or any other third party software?

Other possible setups:
run OS X from external
- there are even ExpressCard eSATA - and it may be possible with some to install later versions of Windows 2008 or 7.
Shrinking Windows partition (backup wtih WinClone or something) will interfere to some extent with the Apple OS Switcher but does work; then install in there.
Using a PC to run and manage Windows - after using my Mac for almost 3 yrs - is so much easier, and flexible, even though the Mac Pro can have as many Windows partitions as you want on multiple drives (internal) and partitions.
I know you can install XP after Vista or 7 is installed w/o editing the boot.ini or using EasyBCD to 'fix' Windows boot manager.

Help installing two monitors

We just purchased an Envy 700-215xt. We also purchased two Pavilion 23xi monitors to hook up to it. The monitors came with both a VGA and a DVI cable. There is an HDMI port on the monitor but not on the computer and there is no HDMI cable. Is one monitor meant to connect using VGA and the other using DVI or do I somehow connect one monitor to the other?

No need for two accounts.
Open itunes, connect ipod, select what you want to sync, disconnect ipod.
Connect other ipod, seletc what you want to sync, sync.

The error is because of port (defalut 1521 if you have not changed it) is under use.
You need to change the Tcp port number in
<ORACLE_HOME>/network/admin/listener.ora file
if you want to start second listener.

How to install two Application Servers with shared Portal DB?

I currently am supporting a 9ias 1.0.2.2.2 server that has an existing Portal database on another 9i RDMBS server. Everything runs well in this environment, but now management wants to add another 9ias server (different IP address and DNS Name), and point it to the existing Portal database. I've installed the Application Server without installing Portal, but that's as far as I've gotten.
Now I'm at a loss as to how to proceed with the Portal Install. Can I install the software and point it to a new database, then modify the DAD and tnsnames files afterwards? Or is it more complicated than that?

I recently bought a logitech quickcam zoom webcam, and have downloaded all the drivers as instructed..macam, ioxperts etc, but i'm trying in vain to make it work...no joy!...
As a last attempt, i am going to try to install the operating system 10.2.6, in addition to the 10.4.3 which i already have. Hopefully this will be compatible (as it says so on the box)!
Pls explain in laymans terms how i would install the new operating system without it conflicting with everything that's already on the Mac.

Simple add/install Xcode6-Beta by name to /Applications and go - don't change the name. They are designed to sit side/by/side.
Just remember that both versions will use the same recents list of projects, so be careful using deliverables with the beta - always have a tested and reliable backup.
