How to install Unicode fonts (so I can see/read Hebrew, Arabic, Syriac)

I need to be able to see/read Hebrew, Arabic, and Syriac. I have Unicode fonts, but how are these installed on the Droid X?
Ideally, I need to also install a keyboard for these.

The unicode font is indeed within the software, but the proper font package is not installed to support the actual characters. Hope this helped!

There are already two Bengali fonts in iOS.  You can see them on the list, named Bangla.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5484
These are of course for standard Unicode support.  You can read this site, can't you?
    http://www.bangladesh.gov.bd/index.php?lang=bn
You can't add the non-standard fonts required for non-Unicode sites.
For a keyboard, you would have to check the app store for something like Bangla Keyboard to use with copy/paste.

OS X already comes with Gujarati fonts, so you don't need to install anything.  Can you not read this page?
    http://www.gujaratsamachar.com/
If you want to type Gujarati, you need to go to system preferences/international/input sources and check the box for Gujarati, plus the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar, plus the box for Keyboard Viewer.  Then select Gujarati from the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and type.  To see which key does what, select Keyboard Viewer from the same menu.
I recommend you do NOT install Gujarati fonts from the internet, because OS X only works right with those provided by Apple.  Especially avoid non-Unicode fonts from long ago like Saumil.  The international standard is Unicode now.

  • How to install Kannada font in blackberry 10OS

    Hi
Can anyone tell me how to install Kannada font in blackberry 10OS??

    Hello,
Are you merely looking for a font? Or do you want to interact with the device in that language? I cannot quite tell from your words. Nevertheless, refer:
Article ID: KB33755 Supported languages on BlackBerry 10
If you do not see your desired language in that KB nor on the device Settings screen, then it's not available.
    Good luck!

Your iPad and iPhone should already have Tamil fonts.  Can you really not see a web page like this one?
    http://ta.wikipedia.org/
There is however no keyboard yet.  If that is what you are talking about, search the app store for "tamil" to see if there is a keyboard app which might be useful for some purposes.  Also try the Keyman app.
You can ask Apple for a Tamil keyboard via

  • How to install / use fonts in OS X?

I've downloaded a bunch of .pcf fonts, two .NFNT fonts, and some .bdf fonts.
I read a bit online, saw that fonts go in ~/Libary/Fonts, so I dumped 'em into ~/Library/Fonts, and OS X doesn't recognize or allow me to select any of them from within Terminal.app's font selection panel.
So I read a bit more, found FontBook on the machine, read the help for installing fonts...
"Double-click the icon for the font in the Finder. Font Book opens and displays the font so you can see what the font looks like.
    Click Install Font."
I double click the only two fonts (of 30 total) that're associated with fontbook (.NFNT) and fontbook opens....and shows me all the installed fonts. No display of the font I just 'opened', no Install Font option. I try it manually with the + button at the bottom, choose the font...nothing.
    Any ideas?
agp g4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   noisier than a dreamcast

I haven't been posting in the unix/terminal forums
because I already gave up on Terminal.app itself as
a solution after reading page after page of of
    results from web searches.
Still, all the stuff you are trying to do is Unix, not OS X proper.
Did you try this from the slashdot link? It tells you where to put your pcf font (not in the OS X Fonts folders) and the commands to make them work.
    * Download an ANSI font from here [earthlink.net]
    * Place sabvga.pcf in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc
    * cd to that dir and run "sudo mkfontdir"
    * Fire up X11 in your Utilities folder
    * Open an Xterm and run "xtern -fn sabvga"
    The font source is

    Hi All
I am facing a problem the details are like this.
    1. Solaris version 5.8 (spark, SUNW, Sun-Fire-V250)

3 we are unable to see Euro characters in other tools of Solaris also..
    4. In the Support Team gave a hint to Install ISO-8859-15 font to support Euro character.
    5. We would appreciate if any one suggest us,
    (i) How to install this Font (ISO-8859-15) support to See Euro Characters in out Tools.

Could any one is able to install ISO-8859-15 support
from any of the SOlaris 9 or 10 patches..?The ISO-8859-15 locale support isn't supposed to come from
installing patches to the OS, it should be part of the base Solaris

  • I removed chrome 10 and newly installed FF4 final, and I can't read PDF files within the browser. There was no problem in Chrome.

I removed chrome 10 and newly installed FF4 final, and I can't read PDF files within the browser. There was no problem in Chrome. I can't even see the acrobat reader plugin in the plugins page. Acrobat 10 is already installed in my PC. Every time I try to read a PDF file on the web, FF tries to download it instead.

As recommended above by Bernd Alheit, I posted this on the Adobe Reader forum. There, I received the advice to repair the installation under the help menu, which I did and it fixed the problem.
Similar to your solution but found it's a fix found under "HELP" menu and not Add/Remove.
    Thank you.

  • Can't remember how to install a font

I have a Mac OSX 10.6.8. I can't remember where to put new fonts and/or how to install them in Photoshop. I've been searching the web and have found no useful info! I downloaded the new fonts to Library/Fonts, but that's obviously not the main place to keep them so Photoshop can find them. Where should they be, and do I have to do something special to install them in Photoshop? (I have Photoshop CS5 Extended 12.0.1)

Installing new fonts is very easy. All you need to do is:
    Double-click on the font.ttf file
    Click on “Install Font”
When you double click on a font file, other than being able to install it, you’ll also see a font character preview showing the font face.  This window will also let you preview any stylized versions (bold, italic, etc) of the font that are available and tell you if it’s installed or not. This is done through the Font Book app, which can also be launched separately to manage your typefaces.
