How to install version 10 on "new" Win2000 OS?

Old machine just reformatted. Adobe site says 2000 can handle 10.0. Why are the download files zipped? I had to download and install a free utility, Zip7. The Version 10 file was zipped to 188MB and apparently expands to 210MB. Big deal. I don't know, I MAY have successfully expanded it but which file is the installer? I want to run the program, you know--watch YouTube and stuff. No idea how to activate Flash Player. I did download the requisite version 10 for Windows. It is or was zipped. I tried to unzip it so I can install it and get it running and stop tearing out my hair. Adobe is something else....

Hi, Thank you for lending a hand on this. For some reason the two files in my downloads do not have any .exe suffix but sure enough, when I did as you suggested, there appeared to be some installation phenomenon transpiring. Unfortunately though, the Flash Player program seems to be a phantom, as I cannot find it, though I suppose it's attached to the Win 2000 program somewhere. The critical issue is that when I'm on Facebook and click on a YouTube video link I still get the message that I need to go to Adobe to download the latest Flash Player.
Well I suppose at this juncture only 2% of currently operating computers are running on Win 2000--or ME or Win98. Weird, though, that the thing doesn't seem to want to engage, even after I rebooted.

I understand you are trying to install your Deskjet 3055A on your Mac, running Mavericks. The installation CD may be compatible up to 10.6, and that could be why you are seeing the error message.
This link should help you. It will show you how to install the printer on your Mac. There is no full driver and software available for the Deskjet 3055A on Mavericks, which basically means you will need to review your other options to scan on your Mac through Apple Updates, which is all included in the guide.

Install Lion on second computer from pre-installed version on new laptop

Hi,
I just purchsed a new Macbook Air with Lion already installed - it is a great machine!
Now, I have an iMac on my desk that is 4 months old. I'd really like to upgrade it to Lion. My understanding is that we're allowed to install Lion on a second machine. But, since my only copy came pre-installed on my Macbook, I don't know how to do this?
I've seen many tutorials about making an installation DVD or USB key from the purchased version of Lion. These dont' seem to apply to my pre-installed version.

You are allowed to install on multiple machines in your house when you purchase from the Mac App store. Pre-installed copies of Lion do not qualify since the purchase is not listed in your Apple account. Think of it like how you would buy the "family pack" of OSX in the past. Just that now it costs $29 instead of $49.
If you're looking at the instructions on how to make a bootable DVD, then they're telling you to look for a specific file. (Hint, hint.) Since these Lion preinstalled Macs have just come out, it's going to take a while before people figure out where the files(s) are, and so have time to update their instructions. This is assuming it's even possible since Apple has always prevented the disks supplied with a machine to work with anything other than the same model. Only "retail" versions of OSX would work on multiple models of Mac, and what you download from the Mac App Store is a "retail" version of OSX. So it would not surprise me if the files on the pre-installed Lion only work on the same model Mac as well. (IOW, the installer may only work on 2011 MBAs since that is what you have.)

I am trying to install version Aperture 3.4 for a new camera. I have just updated to OS 10.7.5 (the most recent OS my laptop will run) and I have Aperture 3.2.4 already installed.
The App Store will only offer me Aperture 3.5 and just gives me the error "Aperture can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because Mac OS X version 10.9 or later is required." with an OK button and no other options if I try to update there and when I downloaded the Aperture 3.4.4update.pkg it says I have to use the App Store.
Any ideas?

I could download 10.9 as it will *just* run on my laptop but I fear it may slow things down generally - I'd budgeted for a new laptop in the Autumn but was hoping to get away with it for a little longer!
The problem with upgrading to Mavericks should not be slowness; I found that some applications were even faster and more economical with ressources, but check, if device drivers you need and plug-ins will continue to work. With Aperture on Mavericks you will need 64-bit plug-ins, that are sandboxed. Some printer or scanner drivers may no longer work.

Tutorial: how to install ubuntu on new alu macs.

Okay, to install the most popular distro. of linux, ubuntu, you must first go to the site and download a live CD (this is the type of installer i will be using on this tutorial). Now after the download is done, go to disk utilities and burn the img to a CD-R. Put the CD somewhere safe for now. Now go to the bootcamp assistant app and make a partition, at least 20 gigs should do. now after that is done, dont click install windows now, click on install later. Okay, now for installing...
1. put the cd in the computer.
2. restart and hold down the option key at startup (before apple logo)
3. select windows (it says windows because that is the only approved OS to run with macOS)
4. select language and then select install ubuntu.
5. follow the simple instructions until it gets to the part where you need to partition your drive.
6. select manually partition (the last option)
7. delete the 20Gig FAT32 partition (should be near bottom)
8. now with the free space, create a 3000mb swap area partition.
9. after that, make a 1000mb ext3 (the first option) and then under mount options, make it a /home partition.
10. for the final step, make the rest of the free space a ext3 but under the mount options, this time just select the "/". now your done, click install and fill out your personal info and you should be good.
11. have it restart and when it's shutting down, it should spit out the disk.
12. once it is restarting, hold down the option key again and insert the disk once the macOS HD icon comes up. the disk should appear next to it and be labeled windows.
13. select the cd and when the menu for the cd comes up again, go to the last option where it says "boot up from first drive" or something like that (sorry, im typing this off of memory).
14. you will need to update everything, but besides that, you should be golden. as far as i know, you have to insert the cd every time, i dont know how to get it to work with out the cd, sorry. (please inform me if someone knows how)

I want to replace 120GB Drive with a new larger drive, how do I setup Maverick on the new drive before swapping out.
I do not have my original OS X Disk,
I have purchased OS X Mavericks from App Store.
Is there a way to install on new drive (Via external adapter) before replacing old hard drive?
I have relevance experience and tools to perform task,
I have upgrade the Memory to 6GB previously.
Are there any further upgrade that I can do to my Mac as it is a great little machine and do not currently have funds to purchase one of the new beauties

I have no experience with the Mini but I thought that normally you could only upgrade the Memory.

There is no way to download it. If you want it, you can buy the retail iLife 11 disk version which includes iDVD - either at the Apple store or online resellers. I purchased it because I use iDVD extensively and wanted to make sure that I'd have a way to reinstall if necessary.

If you own Acrobat Pro on a disc, simply insert the disc, run setup.exe and use the serial number on the case the disc was in.
If you purchased a download of the software from Adobe, simply visit Adobe.com and click 'Sign in' at the top right corner. Log into the site with your Adobe ID and password. Go to the purchases section and you'll find your software download and serial number.
