Did somebody know how to install mysql in MacBook Air version 10.8.1 os x mountain lion?, Thanks in advance
Am following your doc now (https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3082) and wondering if the edit
First, fix the MySQL client library. (credit)
For Lion, type:
sudo install_name_tool -id /usr/local/mysql-5.5.22-osx10.6-x86_64/lib/libmysqlclient.18.dylib /usr/local/mysql-5.5.22-osx10.6-x86_64/lib/libmysqlclient.18.dylib
also applies to Mountain Lion. Am guessing it does as your credit link resolves to an article re. the Snow Leopard install. Thanks in advance. -

How to install iWork on MacBook Air
Hi,
It would be appreciated if anybody can help me to install iWork to MacBook Air.
I have another laptop with Windows 7 and problem finding DVD or CD Sharing on control panel.
I believe iWork would provide the office tools like Word, Excel and PowerPoint in MS Office tools.I assume you have installed "DVD or CD Sharing" from the OS X install disc (or USB stick if you have the latest MBA)?
Try installing it again perhaps.

How to install Mavericks on Macbook Air
Hi,
I bought a second hand Macbook Air:
Processor 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5,
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Now I have problems installing OS X Mavericks on the computer. It just doesn't download.
What is the problem? You apparently have filled your boot disk to a point where the remaining space is below Mavericks installation requirements. It is implying that you need to review your login directory for very large files, or folders.
Open a new Finder window. In the left nav, select your short login name. Then change the View to list view. If the Size column arrow is pointing up, click it to down and your folders and files will be listed in descending storage use. The folders with an engraved emblem on them were created by the operating system, so do not remove them. Also, resist removing Apple applications found in /Applications.
Top candidates would be huge iTunes Music or applications content, iPhoto, or video collections. Whatever is taking up your storage will stand out. Generally, you should stay out of your Library folder. -
How to install Java for MacBook Air?
I have tried to install Java on my new macbook air and the installation is successfull, however when I try to access an internet site that requires Java to open it doe snot work. Any suggestions?
The new Macbook Air that I am typing this on has Java already installed. You should not have had to install it. Typing "java -version" at the command line in a terminal shows that it is version 1.6.0_26
What browser were you using to access the web site? Safari?
Have you checked that you have Java and Javascript enabled in your browser? (Go to the Security tab in Safari->Preferences) -

How to install yosemite on macbook air
Can you please tell me the steps to install and upgrade to the new Yosemite.
Hi ...
Make sure your Mac can run Yosemite > Apple - OS X Yosemite - How to Upgrade
If it can, then go here > Mac App Store - OS X Yosemite
Then click: View in Mac App Store
You can download and install Yosemite from there.
Yosemite is a 5.16GB file so make sure your Mac has plenty of storage space. Click the Apple top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
The download and installation takes about 45 minutes to an hour on a high speed broadband connection. Your Mac may restart several times on it's own. -
I had iPhoto as part of iLife 11. I recently did an erase and install on my Macbook Air and without a CD drive I'm unable to reinstall. How can I install without having to repurchase all of the apps?
Do you have access to another Mac with a disk drive? If so you can do it in one of two ways:
1 - on the Mac with the optical drive launch Disk Utility and make a disk image of the iLife 11 disk. Connect the two Macs together and transfer the disk image to your MacBook Air. Mount the disk image and install from it. I have my iLife disks saved that way for quick and easy reinstall when necessary.
2 - connect the two Mac together so you can access the MBA from the Mac with the disk drive. Insert the iLife disk, and install from the second Mac to the MBA. -
I would like to know how do I install the brazilian keyboard into macbook air, keyboard with accents (Portuguese Language), I tried so many times how to put into it (Macbook Air). So, thanks for now! I'm waiting for it.
After you go to system preferences/keyboard/input sources as suggested by sberman, click on the + button and scroll down to Portuguese and select that. Over at the right you will see the choices Brazilian, Brazilian abnt, Portuguese. You might want to add all three to see which you like best.
The "Brazilian" layout is pretty useless. It is identical to the US layout and the only way to make accents is via the option key shortcuts: option + n, then o gives you õ.
The Brazilian abnt and Portuguese layouts have dead keys for adding accents over at the right edge of the keyboard. But these may not match what is printed on your keys.
You may prefer to stay with the US layout. On that you can get accented letters by just holding down the base letter and selecting what you want from the popup menu that appears. Or you can use the option key shortcuts.
Another option is the layout called US International PC, which has accent deadkeys on ~, ', etc.
Which ever layout you want to use, you must select it in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen.
To see which key does what for any layout, use the Keyboard Viewer:

Hi there,
I have Works and Pages installed in my iMAC? I am wondering if I can use the same license installed in my MacBook Air. Appreciate your help.HI Pam,
You've posted this question in the AppleWorks community, meant for discussion of issues and techniques involving Apple's now discontinued productivity application, AppleWorks.
The answer to your Pages question depends on how, and with which licence, you purchased iWork or Pages.
If you:
-Downloaded the thirty day trial of iWork, then purchased a registration number to activate it,
OR
-purchased and installed iWork from the boxed DVD retail package,
then you purchased either a one user, one machine licence, and will need to either remove the iWork applications from your iMac when you install the package on the Air, or purchase a new copy of the individual applications you want and install them on the air.
OR
you purchased a Family Licence, which permits you to install and use iWork on up to five computers owned by members of the same family, living under the same roof.
If you downloaded Pages (with or without the other iWork applications), then your licence permits you to download and install the application(s) on any compatible device attached to the same Mac app store ID as was the Mac on which it was originally installed.

Barry
