Hello I have recently moved and took printer but not computer.  How can I install the printer without the disk.

    Hi bill440cars,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  I understand that you would like to install your Deskjet 2512 and need the drivers.
I have included the link to the driver download page for your printer.  You will need to choose your operating system from the drop down and follow the instructions.
If your new PC is running Windows 7 or Windows 8, you can download HP's Printer Install Wizard. It will find the best driver for your printer and operating system and guide you through installing it.

i hv bought d Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac. how to intall it without installation CD? jus hv activation key...

From what you say, you have probably opened Parallels Desktop. If you were not asked for your activation key, you will find a button called "Parallels Desktop" at the top left part of the screen, so press it, and you will find an option named "Activate" or something similar. Select it, and if Parallels Desktop is not activated, type the activation key. That's all.
Respecting to the window you are seeing now, you have to choose one option to create a virtual machine. For example, if you have got the operating system you want to install in a DVD (for example, Windows), choose DVD. If you have got the operating system installer in an ISO file, choose Image File. You can find more help in the Parallels website.

What operating system?  Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit version?  In general you can click "Support and Drivers" at the top of the page, enter your product number, select the specific model, then select the proper operating system.  Next look for an appropriate driver, typically the full featured driver will be the one to download.  Save the download and once the download has completed run the installer.  If you have a USB printer you should not connect the printer until instructed to by the installer.

    Hi,
You only have to consider 2 things :
    1. SAPTRANSHOST entry in hosts file will be the same for both systems
this mean that both systems will share the same transport directory
    Regards,
    Wojtek
This is not true.  Your SAPTRANSHOST will remain the same, but you can (and should) specify independent trans directories with the DIR_TRANS and and EPS profile parameters to designate where the instance trans files should be located (i.e. /usr/sap/trans_SID).  I recommend you make this change in the existing host first, and then clear out the trans directory.  Let the 2nd instance install into it and then alter that one too (thereby moving the files to the new /usr/sap/trans_SID2).

  • I have windows 7 32-bit in my mac pro but i want to install 64-bit. How can install 64-bit on my existing 32-bit using bootcamp?

I am trying to install windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on my existing windows 7 32-bit. Can someone guide me with step by step process on how to install without losing data from windows?

Unfortunately, you can't. Windows has never, ever been able to install an upgrade, or even the same version over itself without essentially destroying the drive.
Make absolutely sure all of your personal data is backed up, first.
When you install Win 64 from the DVD over an existing installation, it gives you two choices, both of which stink. One simply replaces all of the standard directories with all new data, fully erasing all third party apps you've installed and all of your settings. The second choice isn't any better. It moves all of the standard directories into a folder named Old Data (or something like that). Which again takes all of your third party software with it, along with your personal settings.
No matter which lousy choice you make, you have to reinstall all of your third party apps and set everything up again as if it were a new computer. The only thing that's different from a brand new computer is that your pictures and other such data should still be in your user folder. But everything else will be broken.

Assuming your rig can support virtual machines, you can use Hyper-V and run another OS there.
Better practice however is to use a dedicated machine and use remote desktop to the server.

  • How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc

    1a)  Here is very useful article from PCWorld.com. The article is entitled "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" and means just what it says. The article also has links to Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder and legitimate Windows 7 ISOs from Digital River, a licensed distributor of Microsoft software. The article lists "Step 1" as;
"Find your Windows 7 product key: Typically this 25-character alphanumeric string is printed on a sticker affixed to your PC or on documentation included with your PC. Alternatively, you can use a keyfinder program such as Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder to pull your product key from the Registry. You need your product key to reinstall Windows."
1b)  Using a key finder, however, is only useful if the Windows 7 product key was printed on a sticker (Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity) affixed to your PC, on documentation included with your PC, or sent via email by Microsoft. Assuming your computer came from one of the big brand computer manufacturers... HP, Sony, Dell, Gateway, etc... as most do, it uses a generic "mass activation" OEM SLP key. Trying to use this key by itself isn't going to work. This OEM SLP key needs to be mated with an OEM SLP certificate and an appropriate OEM BIOS with a proper SLIC table.
1c)  Here is where ABR Beta With Windows 7 Support comes to the rescue. Follow the "How to use it" section of ABR for Windows Vista for information and instructions on how to use ABR. The steps listed for Vista apply to Windows 7 as well. Perform the "activation backup" to "backup" and save the OEM SLP key and OEM SLP certificate. Save the entire ABR folder to an external location for later use. This will allow you to pre-activate your "clean" Windows 7 install on the computer you pulled the key and certificate from.
1d)  Now install Windows 7 from your new "Windows 7" disc or USB stick, following all prompts as needed. Don't enter a Windows 7 product key if request. Also, don't allow Windows to try to auto-activate. Once Windows is fully installed, run ABR "activation restore" to "restore" the previously backed up product key and certificate to the new Windows 7 install. Verify that Windows is activated, repeat "activation restore" if needed.
    2)  Here is another useful article, this time from SevenForums.com. This arcticle is entitled "Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7" and provides detailed steps required to backup your computer, audit current hardware and software, locate software and drivers, install and activate Windows 7, and create a Windows 7 Backup Image of your fresh install.
    Good luck.
Links to additional Windows 7 SP1 "Editions" and "Languages" can be found HERE and HERE.
Link to "ei.cfg Removal Utility". The "ei.cfg Removal Utility" is a simple tool that will remove the ei.cfg  from any Windows ISO disc image, thereby converting the image into a "universal disc" that will prompt the user to select an edition during setup instead of being forced to use different discs for different versions of Windows 7.

    ervis,
Before formatting the hard drive you should have been able to use the HP Recovery Manager to create your recovery discs or perform a system recovery. This is provided the recovery partition wasn't already corrupt or damaged. If the "D:" HP Recovery partition is missing or damaged and you don't have a set of HP Recovery Discs, you will need to use the information in my previous post to get your computer up and running again.
    The information in the document referred you to applies to several different "types" of installations;
Using ABRbeta is only needed if you have an active OEM factory SLP (system locked preactivated) installation of Windows. You use ABR to pull the factory key and certificate off the computer, to reuse it on the same computer with a clean Windows install.
If you are just installing Windows and are going to use the Windows 7 product key on the COA on the side of your computer, all you need to do is download the same version of Windows that your key is for and burn the ISO. Now install Windows answering or following all prompts as needed (except do not enter the Windows product at this time... it will be entered later). Once Windows has completely installed, enter the key and activate it. Your Windows 7 OA key should work on a SP1 install without issue.
The only thing I see that could mess things up, is the language of the install. If you are still having trouble activating Windows, please reference the ISO you download and a post a photo of your Windows COA
with the key erased or Xed out.
    Please send KUDOs

  • How to install windows 8.1 oem (without installation CD) with Parallels on Mac?

Have bought a Parallels Desktop 9 bundle that came with Windows 8.1 OEM (with just the product key and no CD). Have successfully installed Parallels on my mid-2013 Macbook Air (without any previous Windows), but just don't know how to install the Windows. The Windows envelop just contains licensing details, no procedures included. Have tried to download the "Windows ADK" thing from the Microsoft OEM page, just wouldn't install at all. Pls help!!! Many thanks!!

Hi LonerT.  I'm sure that's correct!
Again, for anyone trying to install Windows8.1 (on parallels-Mac), just as you say "Microsoft also has an online store, which [could] be leveraged to accept Product Keys and allow media downloads on any OS......"
Indeed, it's a real trap that if you go to the MSFT online store, it says "pay and download!"  But in fact - believe it - the only thing you can download is a small Windows program (!!!) which can only run ON WINDOWS (!!!!!), which is then a "download manager".  Which is kind of bizarre if you think the whole idea is, that it is someone BUYING WINDOWS because they DON'T HAVE IT!
If you read the discussion lists even Windows dudes get furious at it - it's like "just have a f'ing link to the file, the iso file".  What the heck is the point of downloading a "Download Manager" ??? Anyways.
    {If, for some reason, you DO HAVE ON HAND the actual DVD (64bit) for Windows8.1, then yes you CAN JUST BUY A PRODUCT KEY online at MSFT's store, which is great.  But then, very few people actually buy Windows8.1 on dvd -- when you buy a "windows laptop" it has a whacky OEM version, etc.}
It's great fun to have Windows8.1 running in a window on your Mac! (See image below.)
But again, after vast investigation we found YOU DO NEED TO GET A PHYSICAL DVD.  Fortunately they sell Windows everywhere, you can grab a copy at the local supermarket!
(You can run Windows8.1 in a mac window, or, full screen as you prefer.  We have had no problems with macs with any number of extra displays, it seems to figure it out.)
You want the box that looks like this .. "8.1 version complete"
Use only the 64bit disk, throw away the 32bit disk. The box includes a product key on a piece of plastic.  Again if by coincidence you have a friend with one of these, just use their DVD, and, you can buy a product key at MSFT's online shop. Once again installation is trivial with Parallels10 - but ya gotta get the DVD.

  • My hard drive is fried.  I need to reinstall moutain lion to a new SSD drive.  How do I install without media?

My hard drive fried.  I can't reinstall from the OSX utilities because it only shows the recovery partition.  I was thinking about adding an SSD drive.  But I dont know how to install OSX mountain lion without any media.  What are my choices?  What should I do?

First, the recovery option is built in to OS X - not the disk. If you install the new drive without formatting it first or without having an OS on it, it will not work (at least as far as I know). Most drives need to be formatted and it needs to be Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and use the GUID Partition Scheme.
You said that your hard drive is fried but that you can access the recovery? The Command + Option + R is the internet recovery which means it accesses Apple's servers and a limited number of things including disk utility. I've not dealt with this type of problems, so I'm not sure, but If you can access that and you have your new drive in an external enclosure and attached, then you may be able to use Disk Utility on the recovery to format your new drive and then choose to install the OS directly on it.
The second possibility - and, according to the following article, this should work directly (I've not tried it, so I can't guarantee it will):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
The easiest way would be to attach the new drive in an enclosure and use your internal's disk utility to format and then clone the entire thing to it, but that does not appear to be an option. Unless...... do you have a bootable clone backup or a Time Machine backup?

  • Is there an instruction sheet detailing how to install Photoshop Elements 13 (from a DVD disk), on a Windows 8.1 computer, and if so, where do I find it

Is there an instruction sheet detailing how to install Photoshop Elements 13 (from a DVD disk), on a Windows 8.1 computer, and if so, where do I find it?

Googled for an instruction sheet.  Got the following.
    https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/getting-started/install-pse.html
    and
    https;//helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-installation-errors.html
(Don't know why the second one didn't turn into a link, that's the url that printed out at the bottom of the page)
In any case it doesn't matter.  I returned it to the store where I bought it.
Rule #1; Don't use a product if the people who produce that product (software, hardware, etc.) don't properly support it.
User forums and\or chat lines, are useful and may help.  But!  They do not constitute proper support (not for installation purposes anyway).

  • How to do a clean install without loosing anything

    Hi all,
I (foolishly) installed Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard as an update to my existing 10.5.8 Leopard install last year. Ever since I've had a host of small but annoying problems, that no one else seems to be complaining about. (For example in the finder half the time when I right click on a file the pop-up menu disappears after half a second and I have to click and hold to keep it open so I can make a selection.)
I'm starting to wonder if some of the problems I'm having are caused by the upgrade install, instead of a fresh install.
So I'd like to do a clean install of the OS, but it's been so long since I've done that I've forgotten how that works. How can I do a clean install without loosing all my data? Do I have to pull all my data off the hard drive, wipe it clean and start from scratch like you do on a PC, or is there an easier way? (I hope there is an easier way.) If someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

I'm starting to wonder if some of the problems I'm having are caused by the upgrade install, instead of a fresh install.
I did an upgrade install on my old MacBook Pro, and it worked just fine. The key is that the system has to be in good working order when the update is applied... if there are minor problems, those problems can be magnified by an upgrade.
Of course, this may not be your problem... have you checked all your software and hardware for compatibility with Snow Leopard? One site that you can use, though it's by no means comprehensive, is:
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
So I'd like to do a clean install of the OS, but it's been so long since I've done that I've forgotten how that works. How can I do a clean install without loosing all my data?
Unfortunately, there's no easy way to do a true clean reinstall. In a nutshell, here's what you need to do:
    1) Back up all your data. Make sure you've got application serial numbers stored somewhere!
    2) Now back up all your data in another place. If you don't have two copies, you won't have any backups after the next step... the backup from step 1 becomes the original, and a poorly-timed drive failure would ruin you.
    3) Reboot from the Mac OS X install disk (SL disk in this case)
    4) Erase the hard drive with Disk Utility
    5) Install the system
    6) Update everything to the current version via Software Update
    7) Install any apps you need
    8) Update those apps if necessary
    9) Reconfigure anything that needs it (network settings, appearance preferences, etc)
    10) Copy +only documents+, no settings files, from your backup, preferably manually rather than with Migration Assistant (which can sometimes copy more than you might want it to).
That's about it! For assistance with any of those items, just say the word.
