How to install workflow on oracle 10.2

hi, i've installed oracle database 10.2 but when i try to install oracle workflow 2.6.3 it says: some components in the stage are have stage version less than 10.2.0.0.0. please ensure that all the components have their stae version greater than ot equal to 10.2.0.0.0.
what i need to download and how to install workflow? :(

I hope your problem is solve, but recently i was also looking for the same information. I find 2.6.4 version should be install on 10.2. You can download it from companion CD of oracle 10g. Then install 10g product then http server. But if you have some information or some notes do share.

Discoverer doesn't install into OAS 10.1.3.2. It uses 10.1.2.1 or 10.1.2.2.
When you install Discoverer it installs its own OAS components.

I installed oracle8i download from OTN,
while how do I find the workflow in oracle 8i?
Please help me in this.

Hi,
I think it is the same as installing 9i. The workflow software is on the Oracle 8i CD. You've to run the oracle installer again and I think you'll find there an option 'Oracle8i Management and Integration'. Choose for custom installation. You'll see that the workflow parts are selected. Follow the wizard and workflow will be installed.
For the Oracle Workflow client:
run the oracle installer again. I think you can choose for 'Oracle Client'. Choose for custom installation and check if the oracle workflow client software is checked.
There will be other parts of the client selected, but I think you need these parts ... So,just run it.

Installing OSB on Oracle Linux is just the same as installing on any other supported linux and is described in Installation and Configuration guide. Just stick with the directories and procedure described in install guide and you should be fine.
For media server choose a physical host due to performance considerations. I think it is mentioned in docs somewhere.

How to install JDBC for Oracle 8.0.5

Dear Friends,
I am quite troubled in how to install JDBC Driver for Oracle 8.0.5 in Turbo Linux 7.0.
I have got the file jdbc8052-sol.zip(class102.zip,class111.zip & liboci805jdbc.so), and extracted them into the /usr/lib.
Setup the CLASSPATH and execute the ldconfig command, but the ldconfig is not executed well. Errors is :
following "/usr/lib/liboci805jdbc.so" is not a shared object file.
What should I do can setup the JDBC? Help!

Portal is installed as part of the 9iAS install.
You can find the Installation Guide online at http://otn.oracle.com/products/ias/. Choose the Documentation tab. Select your platform (Solaris, NT, etc.), and click HTML or PDF and you'll have the docs you need for installing 9lAS and Portal with default configuration.
For more info on custom configuring portal, go to http://technet.oracle.com/products/iportal/. There is a section on the page called Configure 9iAS Portal that has links to all the available configuration documentation.

You might want to go through the documentation here
To execute the SQL script you could either use the SQL script's full path
@C:\oraclexe\apex\apex\builder\load_zh-cn.sqlor
open Command prompt , move to that directory first and then run sqlplus
cd "C:\oraclexe\apex\apex\builder"
sqlplus sys/password
@load_zh-cn.sql

How to install and use oracle schemas

Hi,
I am trying to prepare for Oracle PL/SQL Developer Associate Exams. I need to download and use Oracle sample schemas like oe, etc. and I don't know how.
I have the following on my PC:
Oracle® Database Express Edition 10g Release 2 (with the HR schema)
Oracle Sql Developer 2.1.0.63 (already connected to the HR schema)
Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2 (mainly used to connect to work databases )
Can someone please guide me here....

Did you check what are the existing schema you have other than HR from Enterprise Management Console?
If you install your DB in default with sample DBs - you should have these schema already into your machine. They may be locked. That's why you are unable to use them.
Unlock the schema and try it again.
From sys,
alter user oe account unlock;
alter user oe identified by oe;This should work for you.

I have recently installed Oracle 10g XE on my Laptop Gateway T-1625, which has Fedora 11.
I followed the install instructions on [http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/tutorial/DBXETutorial/index.htm] , and configured the server as explained, but something is wrong... When I try to go to the database home page http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex, I get "Failed to Connect" on Firefox 3.5b4... I don't think it's because of the Firefox version because it's proved to be very stable (for a beta).
I've search for similar issues on GNU/Linux and I found this thread in these forums: [ http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=915218&tstart=0] , but the solution is for Ubuntu 9.04, and if it's possible I would like to know a specific solution for Fedora 11.
I also tried to see the oracle server status with:
# /etc/init.d/oracle-xe status

After your last post I realized that the dba group and the oracle user already existed.
#groupadd dba
groupadd: group dba exists
#useradd oracle -d /home/oracle -s /bin/bash -g dba
useradd: user oracle existsHowever, I finally assigned a password for that account and changed the ownership of the /usr/lib/oracle/xe
with the commands you suggested:
passwd oracle
chown -R oracle:dba /usr/lib/oracle/xeAfter this, I can log in as the oracle user but the SELinux showed a warning and the /usr/lib/oracle/xe
is treated as the oracle home, and no .bashrc file is located on this home. This is the SELinux warning:
SELinux is preventing gdm-session-wor (xdm_t) "write" to /usr/lib/oracle/xe (lib_t).
Details:
SELinux denied access requested by gdm-session-wor. /usr/lib/oracle/xe may
be a mislabeled. /usr/lib/oracle/xe default SELinux type is user_home_dir_t, but its
current type is lib_t. Changing this file back to the default type, may fix your problem.
File contexts can be assigned to a file in the following ways.
* Files created in a directory receive the file context of the parent
directory by default.
* The SELinux policy might override the default label inherited from the parent directory
by specifying a process running in context A which creates a file in a directory
labeled B will instead create the file with label C.
An example of this would be the dhcp client running with the dhclient_t type and
creates a file in the directory /etc. This file would normally receive the etc_t type due
to parental inheritance but instead the file is labeled with the net_conf_t type
because the SELinux policy specifies this.
* Users can change the file context on a file using tools such as chcon, or restorecon.
This file could have been mislabeled either by user error, or if an normally confined
application was run under the wrong domain.
However, this might also indicate a bug in SELinux because the file should not have
been labeled with this type.
If you believe this is a bug, please file a bug report (http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi)
against this package.
Allowing Acces:
You can restore the default system context to this file by executing the restorecon command.
restorecon '/usr/lib/oracle/xe', if this file is a directory, you can recursively restore using
restorecon -R '/usr/lib/oracle/xe'.
Fix command:
restorecon '/usr/lib/oracle/xe'I suppose the command #useradd oracle -d /home/oracle -s /bin/bash -g dba is where I can define the user's home, but if this user already exists how can I modify its settings?
is SELinux preventing the .bashrc file to be created? or what could be causing this?.

you had to install forms server and report server. once the server install completes
to check it is working fine type http://ipmachine/serveraddress/portno at the time of install/testreport.htm
