How to install X11 1.1.3 when all you have is 1.0?

Help! I just upgraded OS X 10.3.9 to 10.4.11, and almost everything seems to be fine except that can't seem to get the newest version of X11. I installed v. 1.0 that comes with the install DVD, and then I tried to get 1.1.3 (so I could download the latest GIMP) but you can only install 1.1.3 if you have 1.1 at least. Which is fine except that I can't find just a plain version of X11 1.1 or 1.1.1 to install!! So if course it won't let me install 1.1.3 (says I have a newer version installed already, which I don't). Where oh where can I find X11 1.1? Or is there a way around this?

Did you install X11 from the DVD before or after getting the software updates to bring the system up to 10.4.11? Does Software Update offer you anything? I only show updates for 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 so I'm wondering if an earlier update might have been included as part of a more general update.
Are you sure you installed from the Tiger DVD? My receipt for X11 shows the version as 1.1. The date on the receipt is shortly after I got this machine.

How to install X11? I have lost my CD!

Hi everyone I need to install X11 on my Macbook to use Gimp - I have test from this program on friday!
The problem is that when I open Gimp it says 'Missing X11, Gimp.apprequires X11 from the ''Optional Installs''package on the OS X install disc.'' but the problem is that I LOST the install disc!
I downloaded X11 from this site http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/x11formacosx.html but during installation when I select my volume > Macintosh HD it says 'You cannot install X11 on this volume. Newer software already exists on your computer'!
What should I do?

First, double check that you don't have X11 already installed (it would be in the Utilities folder I believe).
If its really not anywhere you can probably get it to install by going into I believe /Library/Receipts or /System/Library/Receipts and removing the X11 package in there (its just a placeholder receipt). That should allow you to reinstall it again.
Let me know if that works out for you.

Use the install disks from your mac to install X11, the X11 download on apples site is for panther not tiger.

I would like to create the package of Adobe Acrobat 7.0.9 Standard. In English and in French.
I have downloaded the Adobe tool : ISTuner7_AdobeAcrobat.exe to create the MST file
The problem is : The computers have already Adobe Reader 7.0.9 installed.
In first hand, when i'm trying to install "manually" Acrobat 7.0 on this computer I have a windows asking me to choose the correct soft to open PDF file (Acrobat 7.0.9 or Reader 7.0)
I choose Acrobat 7.0.9 and continu the installation until the end normally.
In second hand, when i'm running the package, I got error popup 1404 about some key in registry that i don't have enough permission..
But, if I uninstall Adobe Reader and restart the computer before to launch the package of Acrobat, it's doing fine.
So, for me the issue come from some registry key of Reader that i can't modify by the package automatically.
Do you know the righ parameter to add at the msiexec commande line to FORCE the choice of which soft to use to open a PDF file ?

how do i detect when all callbacks are received?
i tried counting but sometimes the queries match the resolutions while there are still new queries to be created (do not know why thread creation/use is slow sometimes) and sometimes the program fails to detect it has finished.
thought of creating a resolution class for the resolutionsvector saving the state of all queries and using an additional thead to test if all are processed once every second.
is that a way to do it or is there a design pattern for 'joining' the threads without being able to do exactly that (the threads are controled by a resolver class i would like to use without changing it) i should apply (if applies: where do i find documentation?)

Why not just download XCode Developer tools from the Mac App Store? It's free and contains many other useful programming utilities and IDEs to work with.

But the SQL scheduler runs on another NT account and the task failed.
How is it possible to install the Oracle ODBC Driver for all NT users ???

The above link is a comprehensive "How to get set up and on my way" that I made for someone else learning Oracle/jdbc. Kind of a self-help resource page. I would start from the beginning and download the newest drivers, then set up your environment,...etc.
