How to integrate Mac into a Windows environment?
My wife recently signed up as a volunteer in a non-profit. She would like to use her MacBook Pro to access email on the organization's local network using Mail.app, rather than buying the Office Suite just to get Outlook. Is that even possible? If so, any suggestions how or where to get more information?

RDP into a windows environment
I am beginning to lose the will to live with my Macbook. Don't get me wrong, I love it, I just run into trouble everytime I try to work within a Windows environment, even for simple stuff such as email and RDP.
Here is the latest comment from the latest company I am trying to work with... Looks like it might be OK, but not without extra effort and cost once again...
The “logging on to external terminal server” works if you connect from a Windows machine but doesn’t connect from Macs. The default connector on a Mac isn’t compatible with the technology we use so we’re just testing out an app called iTap RDP which looks to do what we need it to. There’s some security stuff we need to get done on our side to allow this to work fully though which I hope to get done by tomorrow.
Doe's anyone have some advice on how to make a Mac RDP into a windows environment hassle free.
How about installing windows and something like VM Ware. Just that it's as expensive as buying a laptop, heaven forbid!!Mac OS X v10.6: Using Microsoft Exchange 2007 (EWS) accounts in Mail

Back to your question: just put it in your jsp/xhtml page. Read its documentation what parameters it sends along the request and then catch them all in the JSF backing bean. You can either use ExternalContext#getRequestParameterMap() in the backing bean or use managed-property entries in the faces-config.xml to preset the properties of the (request scoped) managed bean after its creation using #{param}. -
How to integrate OMR into Apex app?
Hi guys,
My app would be ideal for OMR data entry. OMR is Optical Mark Recognition. Remember marking answers on tests by coloring in bubbles? That's what I'm talking about. ScanTron is the market leader in the field. Anyway, can anyone share advice about how to integrate OMR into an Apex app?
Thanks,
KimHi,
You can find lot of discussion from this forum how integrate devices like scanner or bar code reader with APEX.
And you might find that HTML and JavaScripts are not best chose to communicate with local devices.

How to integrate JMS into WebLogic ?
I want to use JMS for Messaging but I don't know how to integrate it into my WebLogic Server.
Can anyone please tell me how I should integrate JMS into WebLogic?Java Message Service (JMS) is a standard API for accessing enterprise messaging systems.
And WebLogic JMS is an enterprise-class messaging system that is tightly integrated into the WebLogic Server platform. It fully supports the JMS Specification.
Please refer to the following links to get more information on this and how to configure the jms resources:

How do I integrate Ipad2 into a Windows Home network?
I have a Windows home network setup consisting of a number of computers running Windows Vista and Windows 7. I need to integrate my newly purchased IPad2 into this network; at the very least, I need to access the network printer.
Thanks in advance,
s660117The only way to get your iPad into your network is if your network has wi-fi. You configure the iPad for a wi-fi network in Settings/Wi-Fi.
To print to your printer it needs to be an AirPrint printer. If not you may be able to print to the printer if it is USB and connected to one of your computers or your network's router. To print to a USB printer, you may be able to use an iOS printing app, available from the iTunes App Store or by installing AirPrint on the computer.

Question of the day: Mac Storage on Windows environment.
Hi there
I have Windows environment (10 Servers & 100 Clients), and small Mac environment (10 Macs Clients without Mac Server) I have problem when Mac users put data on Windows Servers, so IT department decided to find a Mac Storage has the following features:
1-Can format it as HFS+.
2-Can Windows users access it.
3-Can manage it from Windows Server.
4-Can attach it to Tape Driver for backup or has any other backup solution.
5-Has RIAD System.
I know there are many administrators did this scenario (integration Mac Storage with Windows) so please any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance.Please elaborate on exactly what you mean by "connect to tape driver"
Of course you can use a tape drive with an Xserve. Most drives will require that you add a SCSI card to your Xserve, and for that the single best choice (compatibility and support from the company which is excellent) is Atto ( www.attotech.com ) although Apple sells their own card.
I believe it's a rebranded LSI - see http://preview.tinyurl.com/6bw4w5
At one time the Exabyte firewire-based tape drives were a decent option but their firewire (aka IEEE 1394) interface has proven problematic in terms of being less than robust when attached to an Intel Mac.
If not SCSI then definitely look at native Fibre based tape drives - but that's getting into higher price-bracket. Eg. http://store.apple.com/ussmb78313/search?find=Fibre+Tapew -
How to integrate Filenet into Knowledge Management

How to integrate these into footage?
Hi
Anyone know how to do this 3D stuff integrating it with live action footage? Can we do this in MOTION 4? Not the 3D graphics, but rather the integration of 3D graphics with HD footage? And what software is used for these? 3D studio MAX or Cinema 4D or what?
How to integrate 3D GFX into footage? See this for examples...
http://web.me.com/kbcv/VideoWork/test.html
Thanks
KYou can do the second one (mario bros) with motion tracking in motion. The first one will require c4d or some 3D modeling software. Motion can composite the 3D sequence with the 2D video, but you'll need additional 3D tracking software... something like boujou, to get the tracking points on things like the book surface to integrate with 3D models.

Drill to link - How can integrate the new browser window inside the report
Hi, I'm using Discoverer Plus/Viewer 10.1.2.48.18 and I just created successfully a "Drill to Link to an Internet Page" related to my field "Ticket Id"
So, when, from Viewer, I select the link, a new tab from a new browser session is opend and I see all the details related to the Ticket Id chosen.
This is right because on the manual is written:
Discoverer behaves as follows: if you drill out to an Internet page, Discoverer displays the Internet page in a new browser window.
Now my question is this: is there a way or a workaround to integrate the new browser window's content inside my report ?
In other words, instead to see the all the Ticket id details (graphs included) in a new browser window, my customer asked me to see these details inside the same report, just below the field with the link.
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks

Photos: How to best integrate Mac into existing photo structure?
Hi,
We've just purchased a new iMac to integrate on our home network with a couple of PCs, printers, and other shared devices across the network. We currently use D-Link DNS-323 RAID drive as a NAS server on which we store all pictures in a Directory like structure -> Photos\Summer 2010\Paris... etc. I know that iPhone uses a different system where all the files are stored as a library on the local Mac.
My question is what is the best way to integrate and manage existing photos on the NAS server? Is there a way to use iPhoto so it does not break the existing structure?
Many thanks,
GeorgeThe best thing to do is not use iPhoto. It has no cross platform ability whatever. It can't run a library on a NAS (or any disk not formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)) and the file management tools in a situation where the Library is on one volume and the files on another are not good. See this thread for a full discussion of that:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3062728?tstart=0
So, it's really not the right tool for you.
What is?
Well the first question is are you looking for something to manage your Photos? Or simply view them?

I'm sure this can be done as I know we used something similiar at my old work place, below is an image showing what I am attempting to do.
We used this to create more portable / shareable assets files which when symbols are linking to code, the code was very often in different directories on different machines.
So we had set up environment variables in the OS to point to source directories and then used these variables in the source paths.
As long as everyone had these variables set up then it would all work.
Anyone know the correct way to do this in Flash CC
Thanks in advance!
Best Wishes
Rhys Thomassinious the problem with doing that is that the changed path gets into the code repository as well, so you wind up with everyone going back and forth changing it to their own value, which is a hassle. If you use relative paths and a standard project setup, then it all "just works" without a problem.
For example, this is the setup I use:
.dev
.thisProject
.Flash1
Flash1.as
.Flash1
Flash1.xfl
.view
.audioAssets
.customViews
.SoundLib
SoundLib.xfl
SoundLib.swc
.bin <swfs are output here
.xml
.core
.control
.model
.service
.view
We have a "base project" that you check out to start a new project (we do heaps of similar work), and the paths are already set up to be relative. Having each project point to its own copy of the core code allows for fine-grained control of which revision you're using--we've even pointed deliberately to old versions or branches on rare occasions.
The bin folder is actually shared with the website repository, which is in a different directory from the Flash source code (in the website, it has a different name). This allows the generated swfs to be easily updated and ensures that the latest XML is being used both for development and on the site.
The "thisProject" folder actually includes a Flash Builder workspace with all the standard shortcuts, etc., already set up. This is primarily because of how the "default path" works when you create a new Flash Pro project in FB. Because we output a level up from the workspace, we hack the .metadata folder every time, but that's a small change. -
How to integrate applet into web dynpro java application
Hello Exprt,
I am struggling with integrating applet into WD applciation. I don't see any applet specific UI element. I would highly appreciate your help.
Thanks,
ShubhangiSatyajit Chakra...
Please can you clarify what you mean that it has been deprecated?
We have a similar requirement and I have tested a method to do this on our NW 04 system that worked. But I really need to know what to plan for when we upgrade to 04s.
I am not sure if this is the right approach, but here's how I did it on our 04 system....I need to know if the approach I have taken below will work properly in 04s.
I built an HTML file in a string which contains javascript to launch the IXOS viewer applet...which is the "inString" below...
try
String html = inString;
IWDCachedWebResource resource = WDWebResource.getWebResource(inString.getBytes("UTF-8"), WDWebResourceType.HTML);
resource.setResourceName("HTML_inline.html");
resource.setAttachement(false);
resource.setReadOnce(false);
wdContext.currentContextElement().setOut(resource.getAbsoluteURL());
catch (final Exception ex)
wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException(new WDNonFatalException(ex), false);
IWDWindowInfo windowInfo = wdComponentAPI.getComponentInfo().findInWindows("PopupImageViewer");
IWDWindow window = wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager().createWindow(windowInfo, true);
window.setTitle("Image opening in separate window");
window.setWindowPosition(25, 225);
window.open();
wdContext.currentPopupElement().setWindowInstance(window);
