How to interconnect Creative 7.1 Speaker system to

HI All,?I have bought a Creative 7. Speaker system. I have connected it to my TV using the Audio Out (left & right) to the Auxiliary In of the 7. speaker system and now only 3 speakers are producing the sound. The center and the surround speakers have no output. Please guide me on how I can interconnect this 7. system with my TV and get the speakers working. Thanks in advance.Chris?

Headphone jack on all current Mac models (include latest aluminum iMac) doubles as SPDIF digital optical output as well. In other words, both analog (for headphone/line-out) and digital audio outputs are built into the same combo jack. Same analog/digital implementation for the audio input jack. Alternatively audio output can be sent through USB bus in digital form to external decoder. Thus unlike PC, the compact iMac does have many extra features already built-in.
All you need is an external 5.1 decoder to decode 5.1 digital output from headphone jack or USB port into analog format with three analog outputs for Creative Inspire T6060 5.1 speaker set (woofer/centre, front L/R, surround L/R). The only such decoder I have come across is Tutle Beach's Audio Advantage SRM (www.turtlebeach.com) though there are many surround audio decoders/receivers (mostly with SPDIF optical outputs) on sale in audio equipment shops. Take note that Creative Inspire T6060 is active speaker (amplifier built-in) whereas outputs from some surround decoders/receivers are meant for passive speakers. The difference is between low line level outputs (for active speakers) vs high amplified outputs (for passive speakers).
Optical Toslink cable with two different connectors on both ends (standard Toslink / 3.5mm Mini Plug) is required to connect between headphone jack output and external 5.1 decoder input. In case when USB port is used, any good USB cable built for peripherals (printer, external drive etc) will do.
Since I never play game and hardly watch movies with my new aluminum iMac, only good stereo audio is required for music appreciation with following setup:
iMac USB port -> Firestone Fubar3 DAC -> Firestone Tube Head Pre-amplifier (vacuum tube) -> Harman Kardon SoundStick2 speaker
Hope the information will help.

  • Creative Audigy And Speak System Not Loud.

I built an entertainment computer, running Windows Media Center 05, back in June. The entire time I've had it, it's been very quiet as far as the sound goes. I've finally had it, so I'm trying to get some help. The system is an AMD 2800+ with 52MB RAM; I have an Audigy 2 ZS and a "Creative Inspire P7800 90 Watts 7." Speaker system. To hear movies, mp3s, music videos, and so forth, I must turn the PC volume all the way up as well as the little wheel that is attached to the subwoofer all the way up. I still continually have friends complaining they can't hear movies when we're watching them... How can I get these systems to play louder, as I feel they ought to be doing by default?

...just use the normal stereo output (green plug) for 2. speakers. Despite the name, there is no separate "sub" input on ANY 2. speakers on the market: they all work with a stereo signal, and the sub channel is separated by a low-pass filter inside the speaker's amp itself.

  • How to install my 5.1 speaker system

    Hi,
I'm going to purchase a new 20" iMac once Leopard is out in October, I will be moving from a Windows PC and would like to continue to use my Creative Inspire T6060 5.1 speaker set.
I have noted that the iMac only comes with a headphone jack, currently my speakers connect via three seperate jacks into a soundcard.
What is the best way to connect my speaker system?
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Need help connecting new HDTV to an old 5.1 speaker system

I have an old Creative 5.1 speaker system that I want to connect to my new HDTV, and I am not sure how to do it in a way that preserves the 5.1 surround sound.
My new TV only has two options for audio out:
    1. Optical/TOSLINK
    2. 3.5 mm jack (labeled "headphones")
My speaker system has three options for input:
    1. SPDIF (a single RCA connector)
    2. 9-pin DIN
    3. 3.5 mm jacks (two of them, labeled "Line In" and "Rear In")
The manual for the speaker system is here:
    http://download.cambridgesoundworks....s/DTT2500D.pdf
How do I connect my speaker system to my TV while preserving the 5.1 surround sound?
If I simply connect the TV's headphone output the the speaker system's "Line In", then I won't get 5.1 surround, right -- only stereo?
Is there any way to convert the TV's optical/TOSLINK output to SPDIF (a single RCA connector) or 9-pin DIN?
    Thank you for your help!

  • Problem connecting 7.1 speaker system to iMac

I purchased creative 7.1 speaker system yesterday (Model No: Inspire:T7900). The package contains a cable to connect iMac and woofer system. The cable has 4 pins to one end and 3 pin to other end. According to the manual, I connected the 4 pins to woofer system with the matching colors. Now the problem is how to connect the other 3 pin end to iMac. iMac does have only one analog out, if I connect any one of the plug, only 2 set of speakers are giving the sound and the output switches from speaker to speaker everytime I change the pin. Is there a way to connect all the 3 pins to mac so that all the 7 speakers will become functional. Please help me... I'm very much worried :(:(

I'm baffled at how you got it to work. I'd be humored to know what kind of loops you must have jumped through to get it going. Humored... and very much interested in the hack.
I brought one home from a Microcenter today for my PPC Mac Mini (10.5.2) particularly.
I've tinkered with it all day but it just is not producing any sound.
The manual instructions do not lead to results.
It does show up as a device by profiler. Alas Audio MIDI Setup is refusing to recognize the FireWave.
So I'm out $100 and am looking at another trip back to return it... unless it CAN really work.
    I've emailed Griffin.
Doesn't work on a 10.5.1 Mac Pro either.
I cannot find ANY devices that will do hardware decoding via firewire /or/ usb that are supported by 10.5.2 that aren't total overkill for what I'm using it for. This seemed like a perfect solution, but I'm really dissatisfied that it didn't work out of the box and with the lack of Griffin's support.
So please if you can help me figure this out I'd really be grateful.

  • Creative doesnt sell 7.1 Speaker Systems anymore?

Not that my current speaker system was even intended for 7.1 Setup; I sitll use it for 5.1
I cannot find any 7.1 speaker systems, Creative is only selling one 5.1: Inspire T6160; I am using currently the Inspire: 7800
I think my volume control is becoming defective so I thought of finding something equivelant if not better but I'm not having any luck.
And I dont think it might be a big deal but my 7800 gives me 8 watts per channel I think; T6160 gives me 6watts per. And the subwoofer gives 24 watts vs 20 watts with 6160
But does anyone own this 6160? Think its worth it? Like I said the 7800 is a 7.1 Speaker Setup; and the 6160 is only a 5.1; again it doesnt matter to me except the watts I listed above.
Is creative gonna come out with a new set of speakers soon?
    Thanks

I have bought today the Creative Inspire T7800 - T7900 use the subwoofer with my Creative Gigaworks S750 - 7 sat speakers. It is working well.

My new iPhone 4 will not play on the iHome iP1 Speaker System. I have removed the case and seated it properly and it charges, but does not play music. How can I get it to work?

    Hi there Graham!
I have a couple of articles that can help you troubleshoot this issue. First, if you are downloading HD content, you will need to know the system requirements for HD playback, which can be found here:
iTunes: Purchasing and viewing HD videos
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3209
Next, you will want to check your video playback settings on your Windows machine. The steps for that can be found right here:
Troubleshooting iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7 video playback performance issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1718
Hope that helps. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,

I am looking into buying this:

Although, I am aware there aren't enough ports in order for it to work on my laptop.
How do I go about getting these ports externally? I mean like, an external sound card? Does such a thing exist?
    Thank you

I imagine there is, but I can't recommend one. It will need an optical audio input through which to receive a 5.1 digital signal from the MBP's headphone port, and a digital-to-analog converter to provide the analog signal that the speakers evidently require.
I wasn't able to find specs for the speakers to see how many channels of input they expect.
