How to interprete P* value of v$session in 10g??( event=library cache lock)

The database is 2 node RAC (10.2.0.2.0) on 32-bit windows 2003 EE SP1.
One session on Node 2 is waiting for "library cache lock" to be released
for "178874" seconds.
The detail for the session is as follows:

I issued "DESC MGMT_JOB_EXEC_SUMMARY".
"DESC MGMT_JOB_EXEC_SUMMARY" hangs.
The sid=444 session is waiting for almost 2 days.
I stopped dbconsole and emagent.

Hi Everyone,
We've been experiencing frequent and high time waits for this event: library cache lock.
- What causes this?
- Is there a way to detect the object being locked?
(this doesnt show up in V$LOCK)
- Is there a way to detect the session that is causing the lock? aka blocking session?
(I can detect the objects being blocked, they show up in v$session)

Our workflow session yesterday hanged on a particular step the session was waiting on a library cache lock (by using query select event,p1,p2 from v$session where sid=<my_sid>;)
when I checked the blocking session , using the note 122793.1 and http://oracle-study-notes.blogspot.com/2009/05/resolving-library-cache-lock-issue.html and http://oracle-study-notes.blogspot.com/2009/05/find-session-holding-library-cache-lock.html .

A killed session is still waiting for "library cache lock" for hours
Hello everybody
Today on my environment I killed a session while compiling a procedure that was taking too much time. Now, after more than a couple of hours that session is still there waiting for "library cache lock". I really can't understand why it's taking that much. Can anyone give me some hints about this. I already read the docs to find something to explain this case but I haven't been able to find the source of this lock.

you may want to check the settings of this particular PL/SQL Developer installation. If I remember correctly then there are several settings in PL/SQL Developer related to how the tool connects to the database and compiles objects, e.g. "Safe compilation (using temporary compilation object)", "Background compilation", "Multi-Session" support etc. that might lead to situations where the tool could block itself for instance.

How to get the value of a session bean through a scriptlet

I have defined a session bean in faces-config file and now I want to acces this bean object through a scriptlet. How should I go about doing that ?

How to remove the iPhoto video clips from the iMovie Event Library
Hi,
The new iMovie took a couple of hours to index my iPhoto video clips. That didn't bother me so much as I have 2564 video clips in my iPhoto library.
However, when I launch iMovie, it now takes approximately 30 minutes to be ready for use.
Is there anyway to de-register the iPhoto video clips in iMovie?
I'll switch to only importing the clips I want to work with as iMovie does not appear to be written to handle a large quantity of video clips efficiently (for the G5 cpu anyway).
Perhaps if when selecting "iPhoto Videos" in the Event Library, it would first show the video clips divided into Events as with the new iPhoto approach. Would surely be quicker to scroll through. Scrolling through the video clips is far to slow.
iMovie won't even playback the video clips without pausing every couple of seconds. My iPhoto library lives on my internal drive.

How can I increase my Library Cache Hit Ratio?
I was wondering if anyone can help me out regarding the values that I am getting for my Library Cache hits stats
Half of the samples that I have taken on a periodic interval today have ranged from 89% to 96%.
The SQL that I have used is,

Well indeed that shared pool controls the allocation and everything about Library Cache but it doesnt mean that increasing the value will stop all the issues.Its among the hardest parameters to be tuned infact for the reason that what primarly comes into it,sql statements,code and all that,that is not written entirely by a dba/tuner.Its by developers who does some times not so good things that are required to make shared pool work properly.Very commonly occuring mistake can be quoted as the lack of use of bind variabls and constant use of literals.In that case,eventualy we will have a hard parse of all the statements which will eat up the shared pool some time or the other.No matter what size it may be,it will end to the same result.Hit ratio is a guiding factor,not the end goal of tuning.Its been documented so many places,here,other forums,even in OU books also that looking and tuning alone the hit ratio may not end up at the expected or right results.You should look for the Parse statistics in the AWR report how they are working.How many are Parse(hard),Parse(total) statistics coming up?What is the sql execute to parse time,elapsed time and the related statistics.They will be helpful in getting things sorted out more nicely and correctly.
I am sure I have missed so much than I said.Surely you will get more better advice on this.Have patience and wait.

How to deploy a VO Bind variable to get value from user session....

A JSF Page has a table based on VO with two parameters. One of this parameters I will pass by operation ExecuteWithParams.
but the other parameter I need to pass a value from User session.
Is that possible? How would I do that? I´m using jdev10.1.3
Thankyou...When you created a binding for executeWithParams in your pageDef, the action binding should have had NamedData elements for each of the parameters. These would have been assigned values from a variableIterator up in the executables section. The parameter that gets its value from user input should be left alone. For the parameter that gets its value from the user session, change the EL expression that defines its NDValue attribute so that it references the session information that you want to use. This can be a sessionScope variable that you set earlier in the session, as Frank suggests, a property of a managed bean in session scope, or some other variable.

How to have a value survive logout and destruction of the session
Hi,
Currently I'm facing the following challenge:
For a customer we are building a webcenter portal app (version 11.1.1.6). Depending on where you come from, customer wants to have different styles and template.
I have done this by adding a URL parameter to the different URL's the user can use. The param determines where the user came from and determines which style is going to be used.
By adding a HTTP filter class to my portal app, I'm reading this URL-param and place the value in a session attribute. I have my trinidad-config file configured so, that it takes the value for the skin from a session bean in which I read this session attribute. A similar construction is used for setting the template.
Now, this works well. When the application is started by one of the URL's, the login page is started with the correct style and template. Logging in.....no problem there. Still the correct style and template. Loggin out....you can feel it coming......the style is lost. With logging out, my session is destroyed and with this the value for the style. Is there any way to preserve this value and pass it through to the login page which is shown after a successful logout.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Storing this value in a table or file is not really an option. suppose you have a few hunderd users creating entries that only have to be stored as long as the user session lasts. When the user performs a logout, he has to be taken to the login page. In this way he is offered a chance to log back in again. During all this, the value for the style being used has to survive. When the user closes his browser window, the session and all values should be destroyed.
So, I'm looking for a non-persistent solution. -

I'm experienced any problem when our application run one transaction it becomes very slow, before it was speed and from yesterday it takes a lot of time to accomplish the transaction.
