How to interrupt a download (from Stanford lectures)

I wanted to download only select lectures from the Stanford iTunes, but iTunes would only download them all. So when it began downloading them, I wanted to stop it midstream, but I couldn't figure out how, other than quitting the application. But that seems a bit overkill.
Any advice?
Thanks.

If you're talking about the podcasts, click subscribe first. It will then display the items under the "Podcasts" category in your local iTunes. When begins to download, the window at the top where the time and "song" information is there is an x.
Click the x and this will stop the downloading of all podcasts that are currently being downloaded. Select the podcast you want to download and click the "GET" button next to it. This will download only that podcast.
Hope this helps,
-Ryan

There is not a way to remove them from the list.  Just let them download, and then delete them from your library when they are done.

How can photos be downloaded from a SDHC card to an iPad Air?

Apple also sells the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader for US$29. No computer necessary - handy if you're out shooting important pics and want to check them on a larger screen right away.

  • How often does Mail download from a POP account?

I'm trying to help a friend, but I'm not that Apple-savvy. I know in Windows mail clients, there are settings to adjust how often mail is downloaded from a POP server, but I couldn't find any such setting in my friend's MacBook mail application. He is running 10.4.11. Does it only download each time you launch the mail application or click the "Get Mail" button? Does it download on some pre-set schedule that can't be changed? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

"but I couldn't find any such setting in my friend's MacBook mail application."
I believe the equivalent setting is:
    Mail>Preferences>General>*Check for new mail.*
"Does it download on some pre-set schedule that can't be changed?"
You can change the times for the +"Check for new mail"+ setting manually or use the computer setting.

Hi, how to update my downloads from 128 to 256 kbits ?

    Al Tuco,
You can do it with iTunes Match.
See this document:  iTunes Store: iTunes Plus Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)  and read the section on "Can I upgrade my previously purchased music to iTunes Plus?"

  • How can I see what, when and how much has been downloaded from the net?

I use a satellite internet service which limits me to only 200Mb of downloads in a 24 hr period. Should I go over, I am "locked out" of my internet service for the next 24 hr period. Lately I have been locked out without thinking I have downloaded anything. I am wondering if there is a place on the computer I can look to give me an idea what has been downloaded and when? I did change the Apple software update to not "automatically update important files" but I am wondering are there any other programs or anything the system may be downloading automatically without me knowing and what can be done to rectify it?
    Thanks

Thanks for the thoughts. Here is some more for consideration. I was locked out yesterday and when I finally got out of "lock up" today, I went to my satellite internet provider's site to see how much and when it was downloaded. I booted my machine at about 10 AM yesterday and according to their site between 10 and 11 AM I downloaded 188MB of data. Then from 11 AM to Noon they said I downloaded another 28MB which then resulted in my being locked out of the internet until noon today. During that time I was on the net, I initiated no downloading from any site nor did I have any video streaming. What is frustrating is I have no idea what is being downloaded or how much. Most other days of the week it appears that downloaded material is 75Mb or less and I can remember generating the downloads.Looking at their site, the "downloading" of mystery material begins quickly after booting the computer which leads me to believe, as Kappy was saying, this is likely something like Apple Software updater or such set to "Download on Startup". I guess I'm not quite sure how to check to see what is set to "Download on Startup" and how to make sure nothing downloads at startup unless approved by me. Any thoughts?

  • How to distinguish Delta download from CRM to Mobile from Initial download

    Hi guys,
I checked out that when downloading from CRM to CDB (for mobile), the inbound queue is always CRI_XXX..._CDBI.
For data load from CRM to R/3, I remember that initial load and delta load, the inbound queue names would end up in differnet words (I for initial load, D for Delta load). But for load from CRM to CDB, it seems that only 'I' exists.
My question is, how can we distinguish delta load from initial load via the queue name? saying that the queue name is
CRI_CSA_BUPA_INIT_CDBI, can we simply judge that it's an initial load or delta one?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Raymond

Yes, CRI_CSA_BUPA_INIT_CDBI is the queue created for BUPA initial load from CRM to CDB. Delta loads from CRM to CDB would create no queues - they would be handled in the objects queue itself (for eg. CSABUPA*) queues.

    Ankan

  • How do I delete downloads from the cloud?

OK - I'm interrested in uploading to the cloud, not downloading from the cloud. I downloaded some purchased songs, but there seems to be no way to delet them from my phone. No swiping, or deleting from itunes, or new playlist formed. Anyone have any help on this?

If you sync by selected playlists, remove the song from the playlist.  That does not remove it from your music library.  The "Purchased" playlist is just a smart playlist showing the songs in your music library that you purchased (as opposed to ripping from a CD or downloading from the internet).
Playlists shown in the "Music" pane for your phone in iTunes are not a subset of "Purchased", just because they are listed underneath Purchased.

I want to download the Amazon Appstore but I can't unless the phone will allow me to download from an unknow source and it wont can anyone help?

The Amazon App store as well as all the Apps therein only work on Android Devices. Different operating system to iOS.
Any and all software that runs on iOS can only be obtained from the App Store.
You simply cannot install Amazon App store on an Apple device.

  • How to recapture content downloaded from my CDs

My old computer died & I now have a new one. I was successfully able to download the latest iTunes & access my purchased content, but there doesn't seem to be a way to access the music I downloaded from my CDs. The Help content said I could do it if both computers have the latest software, but the old computer is dead, so that won't work. I remember doing this several years ago, & all I had to do was to log into my account & the content was there. Help!

As you have found, that only applies to the music that you have purchased from the iTunes Store. For the rest of your Library, you should have made a backup, on an external hard drive, or to an online service.
I think you may have to import the CDs again.

Lots of times when I download files from the internet like games or something they will open up in text edit.  When it comes up its just a bunch of letters and numbers, it won't actually run the application.  How do I get the file to open up correctly and actually run?

I got a free download of a movie from Fandango.  When I pressed redeem, with the correct code, the download was supposed to start.  Nothing happened that I could see or find in purchases. How do I know if the download occurred or where I can find it?

If you've done it on your iPhone then is it in the Downloads tab in the iTunes store app, or has it finished downloading and is now in the Videos app ?

  • HT1750 How do i stop downloads from one Admin account from going onto the other one?

So there are two admin accounts on my imac, and one day i logged into the other persons account, and all my downloads were showing up in their folder, how do i seperate the two, so that what i download on the mac from my account is only visible on my account?? If you have time to answer this, i would really appreciate it!! Thanks

...granted they were in the Mac HD folder,
You mean Macintosh HD, i.e., your boot directory?  That is one of the place (actually a little deeper in there) that I was alluding to about a folder common to all accounts.  But that is not the default and the only way that could happen is if you changed the default from ~/Downloads.
You never said what browser you are using.  I'll assume it is Safari.  Open Safari's preferences, general tab, and look at the "Safe download files to".  Unless you have other reasons to place elsewhere set to Downloads in your home directory.  Given what you are describing it must not be currently set there and you must have changed it sometime in the past (maybe accidentially).
If you are not using Safari every other browser has a similar preference (e.g.., FireFox preferences, general, save files to).

  • How do I change download from destination file to open in application?

When downloading files from my bank into MS Money the default was to open directly into MS Money. Recently I needed to save the file to Desktop but faile to unclick 'do this for all files in future' box. Now I cannot download files directly into MS Money and it goes straight to 'save file'. How do I get back to the option of opening the file directly into MS Money. I have tried restting using 'about:config' and resetting 'user set' but it hasn't worked or I haven't found the correct item to reset.
