How to/Is it Possible to Disaggregate System Prefs with Parental Contol

Thanks in advance.
It appears that within Parental Controls it is only possible to allow access to all of the System Preferences or none.
I would like to allow the kids to change their background, colors, screen savers, etc. but not be able to get to any of the other controls.
Some preferences, such as Bluetooth, .mac, Updates, etc. do not have individual utility lockouts.
Is there a way to either individually allow certain preferences or lock down the others?

If you would like an easy solution that allows slightly more access than the method mentioned by biovizier you may want to consider that most not-user related preferences can't be changed without an admin password on a non admin account even though they might be visible.
I work usually on an account that has no admin privileges ("user can administer computer" checkbox unchecked). I can change all preferences under "Personal" except "Security". This one as well as Print and Fax, Energy, Sharing, Accounts, Date and Time and Startup Disk can't be changed without the admin password. In "Network" the setting for "Location" can be changed without password everything else only with.
The two ways differ slightly in the scope of preferences they allow with the basic difference that the one way actually hides inaccessible preferences while the one I described usually doesn't.

    Hi:
There are no dumb questions...answers, yes, but not questions.   Sometime I use acronyms and forget that I should explain things a bit more.
Resetting those two things sometimes helps and cannot hurt.

  • How to recover saved sessions after a system recovery with backup [DUPE: /questions/770295]

Computer kept crashing and wasn't able to log on, so I had to do a system recovery with backup. Was wondering if there was anyway to get back my saved sessions that I kept.

Probably not. A System Restore can replace the current file sessionstore.js with an older version and if that happens then you lose that session unless you have made a backup of sessionstore.js before doing the system restore.

  • 2008R2: OnError in parent package. Possible to 'scope' System::SourceName to parent package?

    Hi everyone,
I have a master package that executes a few dozen child packages.
I have an OnError handler set up at the top level of the parent package. I want to capture the name of the failed child package, is this possible? I just want to log the failed package name in a generic error message inserted into the orchestration
table. Yes I'm aware that it'll only log one package name in the case of multiple parallel failures, i'm fine with that.
I tried System::SourceName, but that gives me the name of the task in the child package that failed. This isn't useful for me because I use templates, so my child packages share tasks with common names.
    Thanks
    Jakub @ Adelaide, Australia

yeah, im already doing the default dbo.sysssislog logging at the package level + custom logging into my sysssislog_extended table that captures rowcounts, delta dates and parent-child package hierarchies.
Effort not worth the reward to look into this further, I ended up just adding 4 separate onerror handlers in the parent package on the main sequence containers. They return a hardcoded error description specifying the step (seq container) it
    stopped at

  • How do I programmatically remove a Windows system font with LabVIEW?

Is there a way to programmatically remove a Windows System Font?
    Thanks!

If you know the font name, you should be able to just use the Delete function. On NT, Win2K, the fonts are stored in the WINNT\Fonts folder. I think you'll have to have admin rights to delete files there.

    Hi KK,
Please can you take clues form the below discussion thread -
    http://scn.sap.com/thread/775169
Thanks to all original contributors of this thread!!
NOTE: Please note that the main point explain here is that, if you are willing to change to a status Ex, NOPR, NOCO, etc then you will need to pass on the value 'I0070', 'I0072', etc. I will also go ahead and like to add one more point here to make the language check as well like "EN", 'DE', etc as these statuses are language dependent too.
    Thanks,

  • How do I clone a fully operational system that relies on Windows 7 for the underlying operating system?

I'm a retired IT professional desiring to assist a friend who owns a small business who recently experienced very malicious attacks on her computers from unknown parties operating anonymously on the Internet. Because
of her lack of preparation for such events, her future ability to continue to conduct her business was seriously threatened. The incident revealed, to my friend, the need to be prepared to deal with spontaneously occurring problems that create suspicious conditions
that arise with modern computer software before they can be analyzed in a sufficiently comprehensive manner to have an opinion regarding the appropriate course of action for obtaining a permanent remedy. In that, the ability to quickly react on the basis of
    only suspicion is the goal.
I want to recommend an approach that involves maintaining an offline image of an operational system that is capable of running any of her computers. This image needs to include all of the software required to run
her business. In that, it is not limited to the operating system. This single image could then be used to restore any computer to a known reliable state should the need arise. This technique will also insure that each computer has sufficiently similar capability
to allow them to substitute for each other. Insofar as image restoration is itself an operation susceptible to causing unacceptable business delay I'm also recommending that each of the identical computers (i.e., from a hardware perspective) operate in a multi-boot
environment where a virtually offline backup can be instantiated via a simple reboot (i.e., an operation that all users of the Windows operating systems turn to when strange behavior is first observed). My intention is to limit the cloned system (i.e., partition
or C: drive) to the operational software. The business data along with storage for temporary data will be isolated on other partitions (i.e, mounted with other drive letters) accessible by each instance of the software eligible for multi-boot operation.
This kind of operation is something that I know how to setup on older versions of the Windows operating system. However, Microsoft has now dropped support for all of those operating systems and my much more limited
experience with the currently supported operating systems reveals that changes to the boot process will necessitate making changes to the specific preparations needed to build such an environment.
Before recommending that my friend replace all of her computers with new ones, that includes paying for new operating system (i.e., Windows) licenses, I need some assurance that the new operating systems are as
good as the old ones in this respect. These need to be relatively inexpensive desktop computers and we're only talking about a few of them. Let's say fewer than half a dozen. My friend is a sole proprietor and even though her business has become completely
dependent on what was once called personal computers she must operate on a fairly tight budget. This especially includes the budget for technology.
The articles I've been able to find on the Microsoft support websites seem to treat multi-boot as a situation where someone is running different versions of possibly difference operating systems whereas my need
to produce a single image that will both run on multiple computers as well as multiple partitions on the same computer. I'd appreciate finding some technical advice that applies to building such a system using a supported version of Windows.

I tried the image creation/restoration described by Jared.  I don't think it makes much sense to rely on an operational system to do such a restoration therefore I opted for method 3 which involves using a "System Repair Disk".  My first
reaction is what a crude tool.  The image creation process had no trouble putting the image on a simple network share.  However, it appeared as though the restoration couldn't even connect with the device.  I then copied the files to a USB drive.
In this case the repair disk said it couldn't find the files even though they were there.  It offered no mechanism to even look and see what was there.  It appears as though it will only find the image if it is located in a folder by the certain
name used on creation and it is in root directory.  Not very handy.
As ugly as all that was when we finally come to the point of making the restore it looks like the only option is to restore the entire disk, which in my case would mean also restoring both the windows partition and the recovery partition.  This just
isn't what I want to do.  It is also something I wouldn't even consider doing unless it was the only possible way to recover from a failed hard drive.
In summary, unless I've completely failed to notice how it works that just isn't going to work.
I hope there is something better than this.  What about WinPE and ImageX?
Absent anything useful from Microsoft it will be necessary to try using other software.  Time to try Acronis!  I guess.

  • Is it possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external system without SAP PI?

    Hi,
as asked in the title, i am wondering if it is possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external (non-SAP) system without using SAP PI/XI. The external system is a middleware application which can handle RFC functions, IDocs besides the usual web service communications.
However, i don't know how LSO and SAP PI are integrated so i wonder if their interfaces are such that instead of SAP PI another middleware could be used.

Web Services are used. If you were to implement the services in your 3rd party middleware and configure SAP to call it, I suppose it is possible. The external course catalog can be used for CourseEnrollment and LearningProgress. See the application help for details. Don't expect to receive support from SAP with such a setup however.

  • How far is it possible to upgrade a Mac Pro mid-2010 to the maximum extract.

    Hello
How far is it possible to upgrade a Mac Pro mid-2010 to the maximum performance. I would be interested how far one could come close to the performance of the new Mac Pro 2013, or is it hopeless.
    My computer
    Mac Pro
    mid-2010
    Processor 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory 14 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
    Software OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
Please excuse my english is not the best because.

    For what apps?
Okay, you have the slower 2.4GHz processors, most have found that MHz still rule and matter, meaning a 6-core 3.4GHz for some applications (most) was the best and the sweet spot.
So you could upgrade to a pair of 3.2GHz 4-core (cheapest) rather than splurge on two 6-core 3.34GHz (more expensive and more cores).
First thing to do, put the system on a 256GB Samsung 840 SSD.
For photoshop and graphics, invest in some more SSD ($US300 for 500GB) and put those on a PCIe SSD controller ($300 Sonnet Tempo Pro) and put Aperture/Lightroom on one, and use the 2nd SSD for scratch.
RAM: 24-32GB would probably help all but the more casusalist of user.
    Tips and articles:
http://www.macperformanceguide.com head to the TOPICS main page and there are dozens of sections each a different area of upgrade and optimization for applications. Storage, memory, how to, use arrays, backup strategy.

  • Sending of dynpro SAPLSPRI 0100 not possible: No window system type is spe

Upon clicking dictionary search help PREM tagged to "Personnel Number" input field in Web Dynpro ABAP application, error message "Sending of dynpro SAPLSPRI 0100 not possible: No window system type is specified." is encountered. This error message is displayed within the message area and not a short dump. This error message is only occuring for some users.
Does anyone knows how to resolve this error message?

    Hi,
I thnk the search help exit is implemented in search help PREM in your system. If the code in exit in written in such a way that under some conditions it is calling any ABAP screen, it will throw error in webdynpro ABAP environment. Condition in the exit might be reaching for some users under certain cases.
Open the PREM help in SE11 and check the function module mentioned in Search help exit section. It might also contain another call to F.M which might be calling a ABAP screen. If this is the case, this error cannot be fixed as WD ABAP dont support ABAP screen call.

  • We need how to copy macro logic in the system

    Hi Experts,
we need how to copy macro logic in the system, we have some macros in my friend system,  i need how to copy macro logic , can u send me elaborate.
    Regards,
    BABU

I'm a bit uncomfortable with you've wanted to do especially you and your friend has a different system (unless its a sister company/industry). If this would be the case you can copy your friend's macro with the help of your basis team to transport them in one system to another.
if the case is different organization, I'm not sure if that is possible since no industry have same requirements but i may suggest the links below for your reference on how to copy the Macro into external system. Hope the document is relevant to your issue.

  • How to install ABAP as a backend system in my EHP1

I have successfully installed EHP1 composition enviornment from SDN , now i m able to work on
NWDS for JAVA and Enterprise portal . it contains java application server .
but in order to get data from ABAP Backend system from NWDS(JAVA) , I don't have ABAP Backend sysytem , how to install abap backend system with abap application server in my system ????
there is one link to install Netwaever ABAP 7.1 trial version( webdynpro abap and abap application server ) in sdn  but in system requirement it clearly mentioned that " make sure that there is no SAP sysytem installed in ur system " .
I need webdynpro java ,webdynpro abap  and enterprise portal together  but  i have only webdynpro java and EP , so how to install abap as a backend system in my EHP1 ?
or any other download link which contain all three ??
    please help me ?

    Hi,
CE is indeed not double stack. However, it is possible to install both an ABAP and a CE on the same host provided they have different system ids and instance numbers. This works for the current SDN download versions: CE 7.1 and CE 7.1.1 (system id CE1, system number 00) and AS ABAP 7.01 (system id NSP, system number 02).
Needless to say, it is perfectly possible to configure and establish all kinds of connections between the two:
    JCo/RFC calls in both directions
Web Service calls in both directions
AS ABAP as a portal backend
    publishing system information in SLD
    accessing an ESR
accessing a Service Registry (publish + query)
using AS ABAP as user database for the CE
    Single Sign-On
    Best regards,
    Thorsten
