How to join 2 aktivities without copying ??

Hello,
My workflow looks like this:
In the first step (user decision) Manager has to do something and when ready he presses Done and then some other activity ABC is executed and that´s all. If manager has not done it after XX days, WF has to send a reminder to manager and the reminder is of type user decision with Done or Cancel.
If manager presses Done, then WF has to perform activity ABC. If manager has not done it after XX days, WF sends a 2nd. reminder and the reminder is of type user decision with Done or Cancel. Once again, if manager presses Done, then WF has to perform activity ABC.
The problem is that the system has created another route far from the first route and in this second route there´s no activity ABC. I don´t want to create/copy the activity 2 times because of maintenance time. I try to join the exits marked as Done with the activity using the pencil of "fast block operation" but it doesn´t work. If I join the user decision with ABC, system asks me whether Copy or Move and this is precisely what I don´t want.
How can I call activity ABC from 3 different user decisions ??

that's why there's the modeled dealine option available.
Let's assume that you have an activity X1, which precedes the activities A,B and C. On X1 you'd like to have a double escalation procedure.
Set modeled deadline +X days on step X1.
This gives you two new outcomes:
- Step obsolete
- Deadline reaches
The outcome "step obsolete" continues the workflow within the same branch that the normal user decision did, that is, the next steps will be A,B,C.
The outcome "deadline reached" will have a "dead end".
Within that branch, create your user decision step X2 (and omit the second deadline monitoring for the moment).
The outcome for "done": Create a new workflow step called "Control", select "Set step to obsolete" from the drop down box, and enter the Node# of decision step X1.
This will end the thread from X2.
X1 will continue from the outcome "Step obsolete", and it processes with A,B,C.
A good idea to look the a good workflow book, that explains modeled deadline monitoring from another point of view, than what I could write in this short forum's message.

    Tony, the two Regions in your screenshot (green, yellow) are Take Regions (they have a Take number in the reft upper corner), which are Regions that contain multiple Regions and you can select any one to be the active (played) Region. You cannot merge those Regions. You have to delete the unwanted Regions inside first. click on the number, select the Region you want and then click again and select "Delete unused Takes"
    If you don't want to create Take Regions, select the "Cycle Recording" checkbox in the Preferences ➤ General Window

    Hi there,
    I just installed 10.7 today, after I found out that my MacBook Pro is a month too old to run 10.8.  I've noticed a few changes.  One of them is that my applications folder is not to my liking.
    I organize my applications into folders.  I have a LOT of applications and I'm an organized person.  Having 150+ applicaitons in one folder would a) reduce my productivity and b) make me cringe every time I use my computer.  OS 10.7 doesn't seem to like my choice.  When I try to move applicaitons out of the base folder, the application is copied, not moved.  Is there an easy way to move applicaitons without copying them?  Do I have to hold a special key or do a 7-finger swipe or something?
    I can move apps using a sudo mv command in the terminal.  The last time I remember using a terminal to overcome the operating system trying to protect me from myself... oh, I remember.   It was about 10 years ago when I was using a Windows machine, and it was the experience that convinced me to switch to Mac.
    Now, before I get a thousand replys, please don't bother telling me not to move my applications.  I've organized them like this for nearly a decade and I'm going to continue doing so.  They don't update, they got confused... you can use whatever argument you want.  I'm going to keep doing it this way.  I don't save every document on my computer into one huge gross pile of crap, and I won't have my applications that way either.  It's my computer and I should be able to organize it how I want (yes, I know software developers have to make choices in designing software.  I just disagree with the choices made here, and I think hardcoding in paths is bad design).  Launchpad doesn't allow for subfolders, so its out.
    The question is, is there an "official" way to move apps, or do I have to kludge it through the terminal?

    I agree. Like this one I discovered a while back:
    The Adobe CS4 applications have their own new annoyance. I have found that if you remove the profile "sRGB Profile.icc" from the /System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/folder, the File Info dialogue box in Illustrator CS4 will come up blank! So will the entire Adobe Extension Manager CS4 interface. What this one particular profile could possibly have to do with the display of a dialogue box, I don't know. You also can't move that profile to the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder, or the Profiles folder in your user account. While the profile is just as active in either location, the CS4 applications mentioned will blank out if that profile is not specifically in the System's Profiles folder.
    Really bad programming there. For one, there's zero need in the first place for a display box to require any kind of profile. Secondly, there's also zero reason for the apps to hard code the location of a particular profile. If sRGB is in an active Profiles folder in any location, it should be able to find the profile the same way every other app does.
    But I also wish there was a way to click a checkbox or something to take the training wheels off.  I don't like the "Apple knows best" attitude, which is exactly what drove me away from Windows many years ago.  But I digress...
    Not completely. That's been a huge gripe from many, many users on Apple's decision making of late. As in, "What!? You removed Save As? What!? You mean I can't turn Autosave/Versions off!!??" Whose documents are these, anyway? The early Lion "feature" that insisted on opening all of the windows and apps you had open on a restart, again to mimic an iPad, which wouldn't stay turned off until enough users complained. And other examples where Apple is trying much too hard to try and make OS X look and behave like the iOS. Sorry, this is a desktop computer I'm using, not an iPad. Quit trying to make my desktop behave like an iPad. Different type of computer, completely different usage.

    I use InDesign CS6, and I have several XML files with the same structure. Only the data are different.
    I created  an Indesign layout with some tagged placeholder frames on merge mode, for automated layout.
    Today for each XML file I have to create a new InDesign document to import the XML. Everything works fine. Then in order to have all Indesign layouts one after the other into a single Indesign layout, I have to use the copy/paste function.
    I mean for example, copy the contents of all documents to the first one. Or add pages of other documents to the first one, then delete spaces between each page.
    So my question is the following:
    How to repeat this process without copy/paste function, knowing that the
    number of XML files could be unknown.

    Yes, effectively I would like to catalogue the files into one collection so i can save as one PDF and Print as one.:)
    I know I could save each AI as a pdf them then merge the pdf's together in acrobat, but I have nearly 100 files so would feel more comfortable seeing them all together before print / saving.
    My concern is that if I insert them in Ai, will the file resolution reduce? and will the ai still be editable and would it update the indesign file?

    Try just Opening the Word .doc from within Pages and see if that gets closer to what you want, then copy the chapter you want from the Pages version.

    There is an app called "No Formatting" in the App Store. It is simple and works perfectly - it strips formatting from paste (Ctr-V). I needed it for Word and Excel, which don't have keyboard shortcuts for this. It can be toggled on and off from the Menu Bar.

    Yes i had not taken back up before restoring it. However i was just going through some links on the net and there is a software available for MAC to retrieve such lost data. But the point is will the said software work on iphone as the OS is not MAC..
    Will have to give a try to this. If successful will share it with all. Anyone else has any idea about this please so share.

    2. Infoset is a flat structure you use for characteristic reporting, in you case you need attribute in reporting so can use it.
    3. If u r in BI 7 , add extra field in cube and populate by loopback process....

    Previously we are using oracle forms and by that we can manage by using a set of folders containing fmx and use different schema/database for different customers. so the source code comes from one individual file but used for different database users.
    is it possible to do this without copying application in apex?
    reason is because if applications are copied for each customer, and in a situation where a page has a bug, the developer must correct multiple pages across all the application. This would not be appropriate to manage.
    could this be done in apex? or is there any other approach?

    Hi,
    An application is tied to its parsing schema, so it is not possible to have one code base which you can then point to different schemas. I have seen some threads relating to dynamically setting the parsing schema, but I don't think it has worked to well, and would not be a supported configuration by Oracle.
    The normal way to do this is to have one schema and for each entity where it is logical you will have an extra key which is the customer id. I mention where it is logical, because not every entity needs its own data defined by customer. Some data will be common across all customers, such as lookup data and some entities will comprise child entities by which the data separation will be implied by the parent. You can then use Oracle's Virtual Private Database feature to implement a seperate view of the data through the application, based most likely on the customer who is logged on.

  • How can I move data WITHOUT copying it ?

    Hi Guys,
    A few days ago, the Apple Store gave me a free "upgrade" on my MacBook Pro, from 10.6.8 to 10.7.3.
    However, Apple's gift has turned into a nightmare for me.
    I'm far too busy with work deadlines to have time for the 10.7.3 learning curve at the moment.
    Instead, I just want to go back to the pleasingly predictable 10.6.8.
    Therefore, I'm going to back up all my data onto an external hard drive, then completely erase the internal hard drive, and just start again, with a clean install of 10.6.8.
    However, in order to do that, I first need to retrieve a 200 GB folder from the Trash.
    The folder which is in the Trash has NOT been deleted.
    Instead, it's just sitting in the Trash, waiting to be deleted.
    However, when I attempt to drag the 200 GB folder out of the Trash, and put it back on the Desktop, 10.7.3 starts copying the entire folder, instead of what 10.6.8 would have done, which would have simply moved the folder onto the Desktop without copying it.
    In plain English, all I want to do is MOVE a 200 GB folder out of the Trash, onto the desktop, WITHOUT copying the folder.
    Simple in 10.6.8.
    An apparent impossibility in 10.7.3.
    I've tried holding the Command key down while dragging the folder out of the Trash, but that doesn't work.
    If you know of a workaround, which would apply to the ENTIRE hard drive, plus ALL external hard drives, even if it has to be a Command Line which I type into Terminal, that would be brilliant.
    Please help.

    The folder got into the Trash because I'm an idiot who didn't think he needed it anymore.
    Then I thought: hold on a minute.  I'll pull that back out of the Trash before I delete it, JUST in case.
    And thank goodness I did.

    This is my first time on sync-ing my iPad. I tried to copy some pdf and music from my computer to my iPad; but apparently once I sync it, I will loose all other pdf I previously had on the iPad.

    PS. I am using window vista to sync it, thanks to apple that does not allow my OS X 10.4 to sync my ipad.

    The apps are being transferred where? If being transferred, there is one place and one place only where the apps can be transferred and that is your iTunes library.
    Do you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes?
    None of the apps on your iPad are available when selecting Apps under Library in the iTunes source list?

    How to enable MMS without BIS
    This guide is for you if:
    you have an BlackBBerry OS 7 device on a regular (non-BIS) data plan
      and
      2. you cannot send MMS (multimedia) messages.
    Getting MMS working requires you to split, hex edit, merge and install service books, so read through the instructions and decide whether you’re up to it. I’ve attempted to explain everything as clearly as possible, but it’s a complex process and requires you to follow instructions carefully.
    It's worth asking your carrier if they can just enable MMS for you. If they can and will, you don't need this guide.
    Notes:
    The process described here may also work on earlier devices with OS 4, 5, and 6, but I don’t have those devices to test.
    Many carriers require you to have a data plan in order to send MMS messages. If you don’t have one, this guide may not help you.
    Depending on your cellular plan, sending MMS messages may involve extra charges.
    Preparation: Before You Get Started
    Software
    First, you need some tools to do the work. Download and install these three programs on your computer:
    MagicBerry 3.5 (here)
    A Hex editor (I like HxD, here)
    BlackBerry Desktop (link)
    Service Books
    You will also need a copy of the service books attached to post #1 in this thread over at CrackBerry. Extract the contents of the .zip file to a location of your choice.
    MMS Configuration Information
    Once you have the tools and service books, you need to get the MMS configuration information from your cellular carrier.
    Specifically, you need three settings: MMS Proxy, MMSC, and APN. Search on Google for something like, “MMS settings for [insert your cellular carrier’s name here]” and you should find them. Note that you also need the port number for the MMS Proxy. It should be there on the settings page.
    Note: if the port number for your MMS Proxy is in the 9000s, this process probably won’t work, since your cell carrier may be using the older WAP 1.2 specification. If anyone runs across this, let me know, and I’ll try to help you out.
    A Note on MagicBerry
    MagicBerry is an .ipd file editor. Service books, like the ones responsible for MMS, are .ipd files. The logical conclusion would be that you could edit service books with MagicBerry. But MagicBerry only shows you certain pre-set fields within the .ipd file. As a result, you can't see or edit a lot of the information in the service book. Even worse, if you do edit a service book file with MagicBerry, that unseen information is not saved, so you end up deleting it and rendering the service book useless.
    MagicBerry does have good uses, though: it splits and merges service book files perfectly. In fact, it is the best tool for splitting and merging service books, which is why you downloaded a copy.
    Due to MagicBerry’s limitations, you’re going to edit the files with the hex editor.
    Let’s get started!
    The MMS How-to Guide
    Step 1: Split the .ipd Files
    Start MagicBerry, click File > Open, and open the tmo_servicebooks.ipd file.
    Click Manipulate > Split.
    Tick the box for the MMS Config 2.0 file.
    Press “Split Selected,” enter a file name (and select a directory, so you know where the file is being saved), and press “Save.” Name the file “MMS_Config_20” so that you easily recognize it.
    Note: there are "MMS Config" and "MMS Config 2.0" service books in the tmo_servicebooks.ipd file. Make sure you select the 2.0 version.
    Step 2: Hex Edit the MMS Config 2.0 File
    Now, start your hex editor and open the “MMS_Config_20.ipd” file. It will look like this, without the highlights and bolding. I’ve added those so that it will be easier to provide instructions on editing.
    Hex Editing Basics
    In the HEX editor, the blue numbers don’t matter to you (they’re just column and row labels). Only the black ones are part of the file.
    The bytes (the two-character pairs) on the left side are all numbers, expressed in hexadecimal or “base-16”. The same information is expressed in ANSI characters on the right side.
    The basics of hexadecimal numbering are that you count as follows:
    Base-16 (hexadecimal):  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  A  B  C   D  E  F  10
    Base-10 (decimal):         1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16
    So in the two-character byte pair, 0D = 13, 1F = 31, 50 = 80, etc. If you can figure out those conversions, you’re good. If not, google hexadecimal numbering, and spend some time at a lesson. You need to understand how hex works to do this. There are also decimal to hexadecimal converters online. Use them to check your work, or to do the conversion work for you.
    You can edit the file from either side of the hex editor. As you edit the information on one side, you’ll see it automatically changing on the other as well.
    It’s easier to edit the information in the green, turquoise, and red fields on the right side.
    The information in the grey, yellow, and pink fields must be edited from the left (hex) side, because it’s the hex value that matters, and it shows up as periods or jibberish on the right side. All those “dots” on the right side are not identical when you look over at the left side. They’re actually very different values. The nonsensical letters on the right side are likewise meaningful values on the left side.
    It’s not a bad idea to just spend some time playing around in the hex editor before you move on. When you’re done, close the file without saving it, and the changes you make while experimenting won’t be made permanent.
    Editing the File
    The green blocks: enter your MMS proxy in each one, with the port number following the colon. Add to or delete bytes from the highlighted field if necessary, but whatever you do, do not write over or delete bytes outside the highlighted field! Those bytes contain necessary information, and if they are not there, the service book will not work. The same rule holds true for all of the other edits. You must stay within the highlighted fields. To delete bytes, just press delete. To insert bytes, position the cursor, and go to Edit > Insert Bytes on the menu bar, and choose the number of bytes to insert. If you’re using HxD hex editor, ctrl-z will undo a mistake. It also makes your changes in red, which makes them a little easier to follow. As with all programming, the work has to be perfect. There can be no mistakes. Check everything you do carefully.
    The turquoise block: enter the MMSC address here.
    The red block: enter your APN here.
    The yellow blocks: total number of bytes in the highlighted green, turquoise, or red range that follows. Adjust it when you’ve finished editing. The number must be expressed in HEX of course. Use a decimal to hexadecimal converter online if you prefer that.
    The pink blocks: the total number of bytes in the bolded range that follow (again, in hex). Adjust it when you’re finished editing the field.
    The grey block: a count of the total number of bytes that follow it. In the original file, the value is 30 01 00 00, which breaks down as: 30(hex)=48 01(hex)=256. The total (48+256) is 304. If the number of bytes following the grey block was less than 256, there would be no 01 in the second place. For example, if there were 226 bytes following the block, the grey block would look like this: E2 00 00 00. When you are finished editing the entire file, go back and adjust the number in the grey block accordingly.
    Once you’re done, save the file.
    Step 3: Merge the MMS Config 2.0 and Wap Push Config Service Books
    Open the “MMS_Config_20.ipd” file in MagicBerry
    Once you’ve opened the file, click Manipulate > Merge.
    Tick the box for the MMS Config 2.0 file.
    On the right side of the “Merge” window, where it says, “Choose second IPD file,” press the button with the three dots.
    Choose the tmo_servicebooks.ipd file.
    Tick only the box for the “Wap Push Config” service book.
    Press “Merge Selected,” enter a file name (and select the directory if necessary), and press “Save.”
    Close MagicBerry
    Step 4: Backup Your Phone
    This is mandatory. You’ll need the backup file for step 6.
    You need to have BlackBerry Desktop installed on your computer. If you haven’t done that yet, do it.
    Connect your BlackBerry device to your computer with a USB cable. If BlackBerry Desktop does not start automatically, start it.
    Do a backup. Just hit “Back up now” and follow the prompts. Do a full backup. Once you’re done, go to step 5.
    Step 5: Merge the combined MMS Config 2.0/Wap Push Config service book file with your existing service books
    Open MagicBerry
    Press File > Open and at the bottom of the Open dialogue window beside the File name box, change “IPD Files (.ipd)” to “BBB Files (.bbb)”. Navigate to the folder where you stored your backup, and open it. It might take a while to open.
    Click Manipulate > Merge.
    Go down the list on the left hand side and tick the checkboxes for the service book entries (they will be way down). If there are service books listed for MMS Config or Wap Push Config, uncheck those boxes.
    On the right side of the “Merge” window, where it says, “Choose second IPD file,” press the button with the three dots. Choose your merged MMS Config 2.0/Wap Push Config file.
    Press “Merge Selected,” enter a file name (and select the directory if necessary), and press “Save.”
    Optional: You can merge the newly created file again with any other service books you may need – such as the Anworm service books for the browser mentioned in my thread on CrackBerry. Just follow the process used in step 3.
    Step 6: Install the Service Books to your phone:
    Connect your BlackBerry to your computer with a USB cable if it isn’t still connected.
    On your BlackBerry, go to Options > Device > Advanced System Settings > Service Book
    Hold down the “Alt” key and press S B E B. You should see a message that says, “Legacy SB Restore Enabled.” Press Okay.
    On your computer, open BlackBerry Desktop.
    Go to Device > Restore.
    Press “Change” and navigate to the folder with the merged .ipd file you created. Press “OK.” You should now see the file listed in the Restore window.
    Click on the merged .ipd file you created to select it.
    Under the heading “Select Data to Restore,” select “Select Device Data and Settings” and then tick the box for “Service Book.” This step is really important. Make sure it's done right. If you screw it up you could end up wiping a lot of settings and data.
    Press “Restore” and answer “Yes” to the confirmation dialogue.
    Close the BlackBerry Desktop software, disconnect your device, and do a battery pull to reboot.
    Voila! If everything went well, you should have MMS capabilities. Test your ability to send and receive multimedia by sending yourself a picture message. You should receive the message within about 10 seconds.
    If it doesn’t work, go back and make sure EVERYTHING in the file is done perfectly. If you find a problem, fix it, merge the files again, and reinstall the service books.

    Why not just ask carrier to enable MMS? I know T-Mobile can and will do it, even if there is no data plan at all on the line. We did it for my daughter and I know T-Mobile has done it for others. I assume other carriers do the same, but don't know....Which is why I ask.
