How to keep cycle locators in place?

Let's say I want to cycle a particular part over and over. As I'm mixing, I select a track that is shorter than the part I want to cycle, and logic automatically resets the cycle locators to match the length of whatever regions are in that track. This *****. How do I make it just stay where I put it?

Hi
Click + Hold on the Cycle button in the Transport and turn off the Auto Set Locators function?

  • How to keep an image "in place" within a document using Pages?

    Here's what I want solved. When I position an image (like a jPeg photo) within a document I take a great amount of care as to how it looks in the layout. BUT, if I add a new line of text ABOVE the image, all the text moves, but the image stays in place. When the text above moves down, any kind of "art direction" is lost.
    Yes, I know there is a way to "LOCK" the image, but that doesn't solve this issue. The formatting still moves all the text and the image is stuck, LOCKED or UN-LOCKED.
    I want to know if there is a way to KEEP THE IMAGE in place within the text. I want to be able to edit above the image and not have the headache of needing to move the image every single time I change something above it.
    Does this make sense?
    I have to assume there is a way to do this, I just haven't figured it out.
    I am using Pages 09.
    thanks,
    Mike C

    (a little bit more)
    This text below is from the Pages help menu, but (sadly) This does NOT solve my problems.
    Locking and Unlocking Floating Objects
    You can lock floating objects to avoid inadvertently moving them as you work. Inline objects cannot be grouped or locked.
    After you lock individual or grouped objects, you can’t move, delete, or modify them in any way until you unlock them. However, a locked object can be selected, copied, or duplicated; when you copy or duplicate a locked object, the new object is also locked.
    To lock a floating object:
    Select the objects you want to lock, and then choose Arrange > Lock.
    To unlock a floating object:
    Select the objects you want to unlock, and then choose Arrange > Unlock.

  • New portal preview, how to keep an altered query in a chart on the home screen?

    This one has been driving me nuts, here is the situation.... I pin a chart to the "Home" screen from the DefaulfServerFarm hosting plan for CPU, nice hero size, yeah!  I then clone it and then adjust the query to show memory
    on one of them.  Then I adjust the timeline in the queries for week on both to get an aggregate view of days, all good.  As soon as I refresh the portal...!?!?!...both charts are sitting at CPU current day, log out/in same behavior.  Probably
    something silly I'm doing/not doing, anyone have any thoughts or ideas on how to keep chart views in place?  Thanks in advance!
    Jeff

    Here is an example of what I would like to pin to the start, so that every time the preview portal is opened,  the last week's memory and cpu is viewed.  You can do this by adjusting the query on the chart, however the experience is that
    if you logout and log back into the portal you will see only the settings from the chart you copied, and not the updated queries.  Hope that makes sense.  Maybe there is a better way to accomplish this.  Thanks!

  • Macbook Pro - How to keep a low cycle count

    hey everyone,
    Basically I purchased a new macbook pro 11 days ago, and My current cycle count is also 11. I am eager to keep my cycle count down this time round as my last macbook's battery died at around the 700 mark (the laptop was around 15 months old at the time) which I am told was very high. The average apparently being around 300 for a computer that old.
    I have also read on other forums that people have managed to keep their cycle counts much much lower than 300 even for laptops over 15 months old.
    So to maintain my battery's life this time round I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to keep the cycle count down this time round?
    Many thanks,
    Josh

    I should point out that the batteries that seem to survive the longest are those that get used--i.e. relatively high cycle counts. They are like muscles--use them or lose them. I tried keeping cycles down on my first battery and the results were that it made it only 11 months. Most of the "my battery failed..." posts we see here show a low cycle count.
    Also, you've posted a question about a new MBP in the forum for older ones made in Early 2008 and before. As the battery technology in your new MBP is different (and apparently better) and you have other hardware improvement made since 2008, you should use the forum for the current-generation MBPs here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=251
    Not to worry. It's not your fault you found the wrong forum. "Original MacBook Pro" is a pretty non-intuitive label! About a dozen people a day with new MBPs end up here and sometimes get inappropriate advise if responders either don't notice of can't tell that the OP is asking about a newer Mac.

  • Share how you keep Skype running

    I thought that it would be helpful for a lot of people if there was a thread written with the sole purpose of depicting ways to address Skype run-time issues, like how to keep Skype running despite its tendency to crash without having to manually restart it.
    So, for the most part, try to only post comments--by comments I mean posts, I just didn't want to be redundant and say 'post posts'--that address some specific thing that you were trying to get Skype to do like
    Webcam support
    Sound Server support
    or V4Linux support (if that's not exactly the same thing as webcam support)
    and how you were able to get Skype to do it.  Please, do not post answers to unresolved, or otherwise partially fixed support, problems.  This is a place to share helpful, useful, and (at least mostly) automatic scripted workarounds.  The scripts can be in any programming language, not just scripting ones, although scripting ones are best suited for this kind of thing.
    As to what I mean by 'partially fixed problems': I'm talking about problems that still require user intervention in order to keep the problem-fixing-script going.  Like, every time the script finishes running, you have to manually restart it.  This is different from a mostly automatic script that has to be started by the user (as opposed to being started by the system at start-up or when X is initiated), but that once started continues to run until the user forcibly terminates it.  Like 'killall -s KILL myscript.sh', for example.
    I'll start off by posting a script that I use to handle a webcam support problem that I have with Skype.
    (Note, this is my first attempt at a really big thread/post, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed because doing something like this is rather intimidating for me, a forum-newbie.  )

    I'm still using the beta version of Skype, that is version 2.2.0.35; it crashes every now and again because I have to run it with a v4l preload--its crashes seem to have a domino effect on itself, in that if it crashes once then it's twice as likely to immediately crash again.  So here's my little workaround that keeps Skype going; I hope that somebody will find it useful or will have some suggestions for how I can make it run better.
    ## ensur.sh -- ENsure Skype continUes Running ##
    ## an answer to the continual crashes brought on by loading skype as 'LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype &' ##
    ## Coded by DeFfunc't95 ##
    #clear
    echo
    echo
    echo "IS SKYPE RUNNING"
    if top -n2 | grep "skype" ; then
    echo "";
    echo " [T]";
    echo "EXITING NOW...";
    echo ;
    echo ;
    exit ;
    else echo ;
    echo " [F]";
    echo ;
    echo "STARTING UP SKYPE WITH PRELOAD" ; # the preload is necessary in order
    ## for webcam support to be enabled, or so it seems.
    echo ;
    echo ;
    LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib34/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype ;
    # This mapping will need to be changed according to where ensur.sh
    #>> actually is.
    sh ~/:B/ensur.sh ; # the mapping
    fi
    My script works extremely well, most of the time.  Whenever Skype crashes because of a preload error, it just starts Skype right back up again.    However, it isn't so great at being able to tell the difference between when Skype is actually running and when it isn't.  In fact, 9 times out of 10, if Skype is already running and I start up my little 'ensur-skype' script: my script will start Skype up anyhow regardless of whether Skype is already running or not.  And I think it's because of my usage of
    if top -n2 | grep "Skype" ; then ...
      When I actually just run 'top -n2 | grep "skype"' in the terminal, it rarely actually manages to grep Skype from top, but I really don't know of any other way to determine whether Skype is already running.  Any suggestions as to how to check for a Skype run-time without risking the possibility of starting two instances of Skype in the process?

  • Keeping a table in place

    I'm using Pages '09, Version 4.1
    I've used tables to make a crossword grid. One with letters supplies the solutiuon. The other can be numbered in the top left hand corner. I've sussed all that.
    Now I need to keep the grid in place and add text boxes to put the clues in. But when I insert a text box, it moves the grid down. Same happens if I use a graphic box. So far the only way I've succeeded was to use Grab to make an image of the grid and put that in a graphic box but there must be a better way.
    So how do I stop the grid from skating about, please?

    Thank you, Fruhulda. Yes, it was helpful and - ultimately - solved my problem but it took some experimenting to discover exactly what I needed so, for the benefit of anyone else with the same query, I’ll explain:
    As it was a Table, I went to Table and chose Format. But taking away the tick from the last option: “Wrap Text in Cell” had no effect.
    So I went to the third icon from left in Inspector bar which is Wrap. Here I found that the table, when selected, automatically comes up with the first option “Inline (moves with text)”.
    By selecting “Floating (doesn’t move with text)”, the table remained in place and I could put a text box or graphic shape wherever I wanted - I didn’t have to untick “Object causes wrap” even though it enabled that option.

  • Keeping things aligned / in place when stage / browser resized

    Hi,
    I'm trying to work out how to keep objects aligned when the user resizes the browser window.
    I want the contents of the window to remain in view similar to how photoshop wourks when the window is resized. I also want any child components to remain "in place" relative to the position within the window.
    do I have to listen for the stage resizing and recalculate the position of the child components?
    Thanks
    Tim

  • How to Keep Custom Brushes in the Brush Panel Flyout Menu?

    So I have a set of brushes that I mostly commonly use. However, I still use other brushes on occasion. When I load those brushes, my custom brush set doesn't stay in the flyout menu and I have no choice but to find the brush file and reload it. Every time.
    It's getting to be a pain in the butt, so I'm wondering if there is a way to permanently keep your custom brush set in the flyout menu of the brush panel I've attached a screen shot in case what I wanted wasn't quite clear! I want my custom brushes to go where the green area is point.
    Also I'm running a Japanese version of PS, but I'm pretty sure almost all the menu places remain the same. I translated some of the menu (although it might not be the exact same as the US CS6, but if you give me instructions, I'm pretty sure I can figure it out!)

    Thanks! You're a life saver

    Looks like you using mac os x?
    There are two places you can put your brush presets file:
    1. /Macintosh HD /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets/Brushes
    2. /Users/User Name/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets/Brushes
    The difference is that the ones in the cs6 application folder show in your red area and the ones in the library show up below the red area with a separator line

  • How to keep lead selections in alv table...

    Hi experts.
    I made a alv.
    A logic  in wdmodifyview is following..
    METHOD wddomodifyview .
      IF first_time EQ abap_true.
        wd_comp_controller->set_alv_config( ).
      ENDIF.
      wd_this->set_maktx( ).  "<- for displaying maktx
    ENDMETHOD.
    When I want to select a line, do not selected.
    I know because of "wd_this->set_maktx( )." sentence.
    But I want to select multi lines in above condition...
    How to keep selected lines in alv?
    Help me please.
    Thanks.
    Regards.

    What logic is taking place in wd_this->set_maktx( )?  It is pretty difficult to say what is causing the issue without knowing what code you are executing?  If you are resetting the context bound to the ALV, that would explain why you are losing your selections.

  • How do I delete locators in Logic Pro 8?

    Hi there,
    How do I delete locators in Logic Pro 8?
    It seems I created them mistakenly, now I cannot delete them.  I don't want to use them and
    I don't need to cycle anything.  I'm trying to set markers accurately to timecode on a video,
    but it seems the locators are preventing me from doing so?!!  I'm trying to match accurately
    to the timecode frame and when I reach the unwanted locator it prevents me from moving
    up a frame to the frame I want.
    Thanks
    Simon

    You can easily move locaters by dragging them. You disable them by turning off cycle mode in the transport bar. They are always there but when disabled should not be a problem.

  • How to keep the MB powered on with Lid closed

    How to keep the MB powered on with Lid closed and no monitor connected?

    You can't. And you shouldn't due to heating issues.
    There are however 'hacks' that allow you to bypass
    this.
    http://www.alxsoft.com/mac/sleepless.html
    http://semaja2.net/insomniaxinfo/
    Blackbook C2D   Mac OS X
    (10.4.10)   120Gig, 1Gig, Superdrive.
    This may be true of overheating, but ONLY in the iBooks and very old laptops, if you think about it what is the difference between native clamshell mode (Using the monitor/keyboard etc) and the hacked clamshell mode? does plugging a screen in to the laptop some how create more ventilation :S
    This rumor is really really wrong, and as stated only affected the old machines which were not capable of native clamshell mode, but of course we keep the warnings there because we dont want to be sued if some idiot places it in there laptop bag while rendering a movie.
    PS. If anyone can give me evidence to prove otherwise i will add it to the investigation that im slowly compiling to "bust" this annoying myth

  • How small Standard Cycle time can be defined in OEE standard?

    Hello,
    There's OEE standard definition in MII and it allows to define standard cycle time.
    I'd like to know how small Standard Cycle time can be defined in OEE standard?
    In my customer case, their product is very small and SFC size will be over than 10,000.
    (Please imagine screw.)
    This screw's required process time at resource A is 0.72 seconds.
    Then, they defined the standard cycle time as 0.0002 hour.
    0.72 / 3600 = 0.0002
    Does OEE report allows such small standard cycle time?
    If not, how we can define OEE standard and use OEE report functionality?
    Best Regards,
    Takahiro Uesugi

    Hi Nick,
    Main question here is: does business want to keep those members as separate members or it wants to merge them.
    If they want to keep them as separate then you have to come up with a better conversion procedure.
    If they want to merge them then you have to find out how to find another member to merge with.
    You should also implement same procedure when you are going to load Transaction data.

  • How to keep multiple function modules under one Web service

    Hi Experts,
    I have Three RFC function modules and i need to create one web service for these three RFC function modules. I know How to crearte a web service for one function module.
    please suggest me How to keep multiple function modules under one Web service.
    Thanks in advance
    Lakshminarayana

    Hi Lakshmi,
    The best way to do it is to assign all the three RFC Enabled FM's to one function group. Later on the top menu in Utilities you get an option to Create a Webservice from a Function Group.
    You can create one single Webservice using all the the 3 FM's.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Manu
