How to keep Default Attendence/Absence type in Record working time (CATS) application?

Hi Friends,
I tried by keeping default value in Profile for Attendence/Absence type but it is not reflecting in CATS application. It is reflecting after entering from time and to time and after pressing ENTER button.
But i have to display the default value while loading the application?
Is it possible?
Can you pls suggest me the solution?

Thanks for your reply. We tried by maintaining standard template for a profile. But It is not allowing us to change the default value in Attendence type.
Let us consider we kept default attendence type as Attendence for 7rows. If we changed the default value of 2nd row from Attendence to Leave, After pressing Save Button the entry which contains Leave is going down to 8th row.
So i dont think that this is a better solution.
I will try with jyothi solution and will come back to you.

In the Record Working time, within the Weekly View and Daily View tabs, there is a column Att/abs.type which has several drop down values - like: floating value, Funeral Leave, Military Reserve, Regular Attendance, etc. Our requirement is to restrict the dropdown values by means of showing only one of these values (say: Regular Attendance) and others should not be shown. How do we achieve this?

How to Add extra feilds in Advance Search of Record Working Time

Hi All,
My requirement is in Standard RECORD WORKING TIME ESS application.
under weekly view, when we press F4 it will display advanced search.
in that advance search there are *CO Area: Short ID: WBS Element: Description: * areas.
abaper have created two more fields for search as per requirement.
now i have to include those those fields in to that advance search view along with the other fields.
please help me its very urgent.

Yes its possible to change that .
You need to implement BADI for this ..
BADI name : "PT_ABS_REQ"
In the BADI "PT_ABS_REQ" interface "IF_EX_PT_ABS_REQ" you can find the method
"SET_CALENDAR_COLOR" in that you can set the colure for the Absent type ......
Adjust Colors of Calendar and Team Calendar
Functionality
You can use this method to change the colors in the team calendar.
In the standard system, the different statuses for requests have different colors. You can use this method to differentiate the colors of requests depending on the following aspects:
Status of requests (status)
Action that an employee has executed: new request, delete, change (UIA operation)
Subtype of absence (SUBTY)
Full-day or partial-day absence (BEGMT, where BEGMT = 0 signifies a full-day absence)
Application mode ( mode). You specify the application mode in the Select Employees for the Team Calendar IMG activity.
Color Display of Status of Leave Requests(COLORS_ACTIVE). You specify this status in the Specify How Leave Is Displayed and Default Values IMG activity.
Available Colors
You have a choice of 16 colors. The 16 colors are hard coded, that is, you cannot change them or add other ones.
The available colors are stored with their RGB value as constants of the CL_PT_REQ_CONST class. Use these constants if you want to change the colors.
Notes
If you change the colors in the team calendar, you should also adapt the legend accordingly. You can use the Adjust Legend for Calendar and Team Calendar method to do so.

How can we change the Default tab from WEEKLY to DAYLY in Record Working Time iview of ESS .

We have been told by SAP this is not possible to do.
There may be some changes to this in Ehp 5, but I am not sure.

In R3, goto PM - PA - ESS - Service specific settings - Woring time - Record working time - Set up data entry profile - Select the data entry profile which is assigned to the employees in their CVR Parameters(ex.ess sf) - Maintain the PERIOD SETTING as 2 (which is the weekly view).

How to forward support messages to SAP in non-working time automatically?

Hi colleagues and Happy New Year!
I have a question: how to forward support messages to SAP at non-working time automatically?
Details:
when a support message is created at working time it shouldn't leave my system, but when
a support message is created at non working time, for example, on saturday night it should be sent to SAP automatically. Where in the system I can find the options to customize it to provide these requirements?

The primary limitation you will encounter when trying to do high speed
digital I/O using your E-Series hardware is that the digital lines are
all software timed. This means that for each and every digital
read it is necessary for your software to issue a command to your
hardware, read a single point, then receive the response from the
board. This prevents you from performing digital operations at
very high speed. In general, I would say that 100 microseconds is
a very good response using software-timed digital I/O on a Windows

a Real-Time operating system, or upgrading your DAQ hardware to a board

Restricting F4 help in OT Compensation type in ESS in Record Working time

In ESS, In the Record Working Time, in Overtime Compensation type , I want to restrict the F4 help during display based on the Payscale group.
For eg If the User EMP1 has the Payscale group 11, I should show the OT compensation f4 help as 1, 2, 3 4.
     If the user is EMP2, has the Payscale group 12 ,, I should show the OT compensation f4 help as 1, 2.
Where I should write code to control this ?
Is there any BADI /user exit for this PBO action?

CAT2 - Default different absence types for different sets of cmployees

Hi all,
I have ben trying to do this for quite a while
I am trying to default different sets of absence types for different sets of employees ( diff employee groups)
I would ideally not want to create different cats profiles for these employees.
Has any one done this before.
I have chedked the user exits cats0002, the badi cats_derivatives and the customization but could not find a way to do this. Any ideas on how to do this w/o defning new cats profiles for each type of employee?

Enhancing 0315 wouldn't help.. starightaway.. you would still need to add code to default the A/A type.. & CATS0002 kicks in after User input.. looks like you will need to modify Std code..

are you refreshing ALV when pressing enter? maybe you should not refresh when pressing enter, or provide the right variant when refreshing.

How to change default Export Format Type in Crystal Report Viewer

We are coding in VB.NET 2005 using the CR2008 SP1 .NET objects.
The Crystal Report Viewer, when displayed, defaults the export type as .rpt (Crystal Reports).
We distribute our .NET application to our customers. 99% of the time, this .rpt format is useless to our customers as they do not have crystal reports developer. They usually export to a .pdf or .xls format. Is there a way to default this export option to something other than .rpt?

Yes, that's as much as I figured.
With the Crystal for .NET methods, the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine's reportdocument object has an ExportToDisk method. We wanted to use this (as we used something similar with the RDC) to prompt the user to export. However, the reportdocument's exporttodisk method does not have an argument that allows for Prompting the user (true/false) like the RDC's export did. You have to actually know ahead of time the type of export the user wants as well as the filename. Well, we do not, and therefore, want the user to be able to select the type of export they want as well as enter their own filename. We want the Crystal methods to prompt for this. Since we are unable to, we've had to resort to declaring a reportviewer object and setting the viewer's reportsource = to the reportdocument. We then use the ExportReport() method which defaults to .rpt (which none of our end users have Crystal Developer). This is why we want to know if there is a way to reset the default export method to something more common (such as .pdf or .xls). Is there a way to change the reportdocument's file type in order to default the export type? Just trying to come up with some sort of workaround...
