Hi, I would be very grateful if someone could tell me how to disconnect internet connection in Time Capsule and reconnect without restarting the whole device?
The thing is that as I have a dynamic IP address, everytime I restart the internet connection my IP address changes. I sometimes need it to change, so I need to restart the connection. I don't know another way to restart the connection than restarting the whole Time Capsule.

PD: the computer I use is Windows based, using the Airport Utility for Windows, but I also have a MacBook Pro I could use and an iPhone too.The utility in windows is very like Mac so the screenshots are from Mac as I don't have windows available now.
How this works depends on the setup of the TC.. which you did not tell us.. you cannot change anything if you do not have the TC as the main router in the network.
So on the internet tab you need to share a public IP address.
On the next tab where you set IP address.
Click the renew IP address.
It might work.. and it might not.. the problem is you are not disconnecting the network.. sometimes the hard disconnection is required before the address will renew..
What about unplugging the WAN port.. then click renew the IP which will fail.. then plug the wan back in again.
In the end it is easier and faster to power cycle the TC. -

I have to write an HTTP server that comunicates with many clients in the same time,but keeps the connection with a client open if there the corresponding header is Keep-Alive. I have used threads,and I've tested my program in the following way: I've requested the one page of the site and then I've followed a link from that page. I expected that the broowser and the server talk to the same thread every time,but it seems that they don't. The code I've written is:

i think what i get from ur code that ....
use some vector at the server side and whenever any client is connected (offcourse first time or not (depend on u !!)) create an object corresponding(generally created by server for every client) ..
save this in the vector .. and pass it the size of vector to the client with the response .

Iphone 5c can't keep internet connection
Hi everyone,
I recently opened a new internet account to my service provider in Switzerland.
I am having troubles with my iphone 5c: for some reason when I am in my room it cannot keep the connection and looses it all the time. I need to go back to the living room to re-establish it and if I leave to my room again it looses it.
The distance between the router and my bed is around 5m and I have 2 walls that separate both points (my kitchen corridor is in the middle).
My 2007 macbook pro can keep the connection perfect and so can my iphone 3Gs from 2010. Does anyone know why would my most recent iphone not be able to do this? I do not think it is a problem of wifi strength since both iphone 3 and mbp are on the 5GHz frequency.
Moreover, I used to have another router (prior to changing to my new internet account) from the same provider and the iphone 5c had no problem keeping the connection.
I tried playing with the channels to see if it would do something but nothing conclusive.
Anyone has an idea why would this happen? this would help a lot!

Cheers!For those interested this solved my problem: I changed the name of my wifi. Turns out the name I had by default was the name of my router (which is the router's model). In my building around 3 different wifis had the same name which I'm guessing confused the iphone. Now that my wifi has its own name the iphone has no more problem!

How to get internet connection from Airport Express to a PC?
I recently bought an Airport Express to get internet connection from my new MAC COMPUTER TO ANOTHER PC which is located in another room. For unknown reason, I could not get the other PC to work. Any idea how to fix it so that I can get internet connection for my PC? Many thanks for your expert assistance.
Currently, the Airport Express (not the Airport Express Extreme router) is acting as a base station via Ethernet to a cable modem.
I guess that it would be correct to assume that your new Mac can connect wirelessly to the AirPort Express base station, and access the Internet that way.
I am not sure if my 41/2 year old HP(Hewlect Packard) PC - (with AMD Athlon 64 3400 processor) which I am unable to get internet connection now is Wi-Fi capable.
You said "Prior to using the new Airport Express,I was using the Linksys wireless G router and have a wireless adapter sitting on top of my PC.". The wireless adapter would be Wi-Fi certified (they normally are). Is it a USB adapter? Please post back with the exact model.
Question: do I still need to use the adapter or not? Or the new Airport Express is enough to send internet signal to the PC?
A Wi-Fi adapter would act as a wireless network card for a PC, and should communicate wirelessly with an AirPort Express base station without a problem (providing that the chosen security/encryption is supported on both sides). Since the wireless adapter apparently was OK (with the Linksys router), you should be able to continue using it. Any other (built-in) wireless capability ought to be externally visible at the PC as a PCI card with an antenna.
Does the (Windows?) PC operating system detect any wireless networks? Is your AirPort Express on this list (even if you cannot connect or access the Internet)?

I want to share internet connection from notebook to my mobile phone (Keon) with micro usb cord (because I don't have wifi). I found in Firefox OS (version: Boot2Gecko 1.1.1.0-prerelease) Settings only the possibility to share internet from mobile phone to PC. I use a Debian based OS: Knoppix. I tried to accomplish this with Networking Manager and I did a new wired connection via my phone with "Shared to other computers" IPv4 Settings and with FE:...:02 (usb0) MAC address. But on my phone there is not internet although the connecton between my notebook and phone is estableshed.

Thank you for posting your question. I was trying to reproduce your the Shared network, and I would love to know what kind of network you used to connect. This is not possible as of yet and I will file a bug being able to do this, but to make sure I have the right steps on the bug can you confirm the set up of the shared network please?
Also this is currently not possible because the software does not know how to send network traffic over usb, assuming you do not have the ability to turn the computer into a wifi hot spot, which I would recommend instead... -

Thanks!The setup I had working is what I have connected to the internet now. A cable modem with one ethernet jack that plugs into the iMac. The airport from the iMac broadcast to my G5 with an airport card in it and received the internet connection. The PC received it the same way from the iMac but to a Netgear wireless adapter.
I messed things up recently adding a wired 4 port ethernet router between the iMac and the modem, so that the modem ethernet plugged into the router, and from the router, plugged into the iMac which then could receive the internet but no more airport connections to my other machines. Haven't been able to get it working since. -

I have my network configured like this: cable modem >>> connected via ethernet >>> to airport time capsule >>> connectes via wi fi >>> to airport express last generation "n" >>> connected via ethernet cable to device. The problem is that i'm not having internet conection in my ethernet connected device. Anyone know if I have to configure something in some special way or if i'm doing something wrong?

GuidoIt should work fine..
To figure this out, check if the Express is connected by wireless properly and getting an IP.. you will see that in airport utility.
Make sure you are set to either extend or join the wireless network. The Express should then pass an IP to the "device".
No luck start over.. reset everything to factory.
If the TC is older model use 7.6.1 firmware.. it works much better for extend wireless.
Use short names.. 2-20 characters no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Then set the Express again in extend wireless mode.
It is pretty easy in v6 airport utility. Look at the posts from Bob Timmons on how to extend wireless.. he must have answered those question a thousand times in the last few years.

What went wrong?I have managed to get it work, but only when I completely turn my desktop computer's firewall off. To do this, select the Security icon in System Preferences, then click the Firewall tab. Next, select the 'Allow all incoming connections' option. I wish there was a way to configure individual ports so that I didn't have to leave my firewall wide open, but I haven't figured out how to do that so far.

How to reinstall Internet Connect app?
I have MacBook Pro, 2 gig, 15" running OS 10.4.8. I have a weird problem- at some point, my "internet connect" app disappeared, which I first noticed when I tried to open it through the Airport icon on the top of my window. I double-checked that it was indeed gone by searching for it (nope) and then trying to force it to open in Terminal, but got the message that no such file or directory exists.
Is there any way I can selectively reinstall "internet connect" using my original install disks, or is the app available to download somehow? Or (my least favorite option) will I have to reinstall the original OS and then go through the hassle of upgrading and then sorting everything back to how it is now?

I have this scenario on my small network with 10 PCs (connecting from outside to inside my network):
1) Modem with ADSL connection
2) Wireless Router with public IP on WAN interface
3) Switch
4) Server 2012 with DC/DHCP/DNS (with 2 NICs) and others servers/desktops machines
I want to share internet to servers and desktops.
I was able to share internet by 2 methods searching on google, but I am not satisfied with them:
First method - Using the Wireless Router and its DHCP Server
I turned on the DHCP inside the Wireless Router. All machines will get an IP and be able to go to Internet, but I don’t have the ability to control the DHCP and DNS in the router
how I would like to have, because the server DHCP and DNS must be turned off on Windows Server.
Second method - Using the Windows Server RRAS NAT, DHCP and DNS server
I have 2 NICs on the server:
NIC1 - CONNECTED TO SWITCH
IP: 192.168.1.1
MSK: 255.255.255.0
GTW:192.168.1.1
DNS:192.168.1.1
NIC2 - CONNECTED TO WIRELESS ROUTER
(the LAN IP of the wireless router is 172.16.0.1)
IP: 172.16.0.2
MSK: 255.255.0.0
GTW: 172.16.0.1
DNS: 172.16.0.1
After installing and setting the RRAS with NAT at the Server, the internet began to work on all machines but at some times the internet stop to load some
random webpages, and if you hit a couple of times the F5 button, the webpage open sometimes, but very, very slow.
I saw other people in foruns saying that RRAS is not very good, and could cause weird things at internet connection, so, now I think the internet is horrible
because of RRAS. After notice that internet is bad I tested it connecting a cable direct to the lan ports of the Wireless Router, and the internet works fast and perfect.
What is the best thing to do in my case to maintain Windows Server DHCP and DNS turned on and Internet be shared without loss of quality?

please deploy according to this network topology. please turn off DHCP from router and use internal NAT function to share internet. Detailed configurations:
Router part:
LAN address: 192.168.1.1/24
DHCP part:
scope name : site name
address pool: 192.168.1.3-192.168.1.254
scope options:
router:192.168.1.1
DNS server:192.168.1.2
DNS part:
configure a forwarder to point to the public DNS address such as 8.8.8.8
with these settings, you can maintain Windows Server DHCP and DNS turned on and Internet be shared via hardware router.

If the Ethernet chipset is supported, you then need to install the drivers.
By the way, very few wireless networking chipsets are supported.
