How to keep ONLY the iPhoto 08 - edited version ?

Good day,
First of all, let me explain teh structure I intend to use : I have migrated my complete iPhoto 08 database into Apertue (+/- 3200 pictures) to be able to use the extended storage and edition tools.
I'm keep iPhoto only for "friendly" purposes, like ordering books, cards, etc..., and then, I'll import/reference the Aperture files into iPhoto.
The problem I encounter is that on several pictures, I made thorough adjustments with Photoshop, while they were still in iPhoto. So this "rework" is imported in Aperture as "iPhoto edited", a version of the master file.
For several of them, I want to get rid of the genuine master file, and only keep the reworked version.
But the problem is that if I want to delete the original, Aperture also deletes my reworked version.
So my question is : how can I "break" the link between the two of them, so I can trash the genuine file only ?
(My formulation is a bit confusing, I agree, but the whole situation is confusing me … too ! :0) )

Since edited photos have the keyword 'iPhoto Edited' and originals have 'iPhoto Original' on them, and the ones with an Edited version are stacked with the original ones..
So.. to get rid of the Original ones (but only those which have an edited version);
You can make a new smart album (make it when you are in the library, so that it encompasses all your images.) make it look for images with the keyword iPhoto Edited, DO NOT IGNORE STACKS.
This way you get an album with all your (iPhoto) Edited photos and their counterpart Original.
Then Open all stacks (shift+k if I recall correctly) (dont unstack, just open them).
Then select all images (cmd+a) choose 'New Album from selection'.
In that new album you can unstack the images (if you used unstack in the smart album the originals would disapear because they dont meet the parameters of the smart album)
Then simply sort them by keyword, and then easily delete all the iPhoto Originals which should be grouped either on the top or bottom.
Then you are left with their Edited counterparts.
