How to keep screen on while reading something

While reading some detailed articles on the web in Safari,I face a lot of problem.The screen goes dim and then turns off.
Is there any way by which I can program my mac in such a way that it automatically detects that I am reading some article and the screen doesn't off or go dim ??

I don't know of any software that detects when you're reading the screen - that's not to say some doesn't exist.
I'm sure there used to be an option to elect whether the screen should dim before sleeping/screen saving, but I can't actually find it. I'm on an iMac, maybe it's laptop specific and I haven't got one any more to check.
At least if it dims first you've got the chance to touch a key/mouse/trackpad to prevent it sleeping.

That copy is old (1.82), go to BlackBerryForums for the latest version (1.85) of BBLight. One of the BBF members updated BBlight earlier this year.

How to skip first records while reading a csv file

How to skip the first 5 records while reading csv file.
I have a file which contains first 5 records as dummy records, I want to skip those records and load the rest into RDBMS.
How to achieve this?

Actually I have converted an excel to CSV format, which is generating first 4 rows as some dummy records. 5th row is my header record. But in hearder record, two column names are same. Thats why while reversing it is giving an error.
With zero in number of columns in header, I am getting the column names as C1, C2...
If not in reversing, can we reject the first records while loading into RDMBS table using an interface?

How to keep screen on top of others

Hi there,
I'm not sure if this is posted already. If it is I apologise.
I have a question which is to do with keeping one screen on top. By this I mean that I would like to watch a movie (keeping this on top)
and at the same time I would like to maybe do my work, play another game or something that is multi-tasking.
I can't stagger the windows around the screen because the screen sizes are locked... so is it possible if I can keep one screen locked on top of another? instead of staggering them around the screen?
I hope my questions is easy to understand. I'm not usually good with technical terminology. Thank you in advance!

The built-in monitor on my MacBook Air flashes to full painful brightness when I disconnect from an external monitor. How do I avoid this? I have visual issues and bright lights and flashing lights are both very painful.

Turning off screensaver/keeping screen on while using GPS (TeleNav)

I'm trying to use TeleVan on my Curve 8900. After 2 minutes the screen turns itself off though and needs to be woken up again. Is there any way of stopping this from happening, i.e. of changing a setting either within the BB software or TeleNav? Within the BB software I've tried Options > Screen/Keyboard > Backlight Timeout but the longest duration there is 2 minutes; I'd like to keep the backlight on permanently when using TeleNav. I've checked within TeleNav but can't find a setting that would override the BB one. Any pointers?

I can't see a way. I don't know that you want to. When its time for a new direction, it will light up again. Running that way to will drain your battery although, actually, I find that telenav is a heavy battery user and put it on the car charger when I use it.

How to keep USB powered while in sleep

I've read about people wanting to turn off USB power while in sleep mode. I would like to know how to turn it on so I can charge USB-powered devices without having the system on. I would prefer it to only work while plugged in to A/C power, but won't mind if it's all the time.
No power option under system settings, only "energy saver" and nothing there controlling USB power.

When the system goes to sleep, the I/O controller turns off all outputs. The system has to be on in order for you to power your USB devices.

Canon 700D: How to keep LCD on while snapping photos

Hey guys, I was snapping modelling photos for a friend, I set it on multiple shots by holding down onto the shutter button so that she can move around while I take shots. Anyway, I find it inconvenient when I hold down onto the button, I can't see what is happening because my LCD will be blank as it is taking pictures. Is there a way for the LCD to display what it is snapping like a live feed, while it is snapping?

Not unless you are shooting a movie.
The screen goes dark for a moment while the processor chip records the image and creates the preview for the LCD. If you are going rapid fire there will be a longer cumulative delay in seeing your preview (of the final shot) in the LCD.

How to ignore a node while reading data from XML file

I have a XML file that i am reading that XML file using XMLStreamReader and then i need to create another XML file that has specific nodes(from the database).
I need to ignore nodes(with values) that are not in the database and while creating the XML file, only nodes that are it the database should be written in the new file.*
For eg.

<Stud>
<Name>XYZ</Name>
<Roll>1</Roll>
<Class>1</Class>
</Stud>
<Stud>
<Name>ABC</Name>
<Roll>2</Roll>
<Class>1</Class>
</Stud>
</XML>
In database i have only two node :<Name> and <Roll>.
So, my new XML will be

How to detect line break while reading input ?

I am reading the user input from standard input.
I want to detect the line break. So that I can stop reading input and proceed processing the string.
Actually I am getting the SQL query as input and after that I am executing the same by passing it to a function.

The above is not working properly.

But if new line comes, what will be it's value?Empty lines are discarded by the scanner.

How to keep email "marked as read" even after I read email in Blackberry

When I check my MobileMe mail on my Blackberry Curve, it marks it as read. Is there a way for me to tell either the Blackberry or MobileMe not to do that? I want those emails marked as unread, so when I go to my computer, they are still in that status.

I forgot, there is one other shortcut. Hold down the Control key on your keyboard when you click on the message in your inbox and you'll get a menu that allows you to select *Move To*. I'm not certain, but possibly using a mouse that you can select a *right click* you may be able to do that instead of the Control key.
Another item in that menu is *Move to "xxx" again* where xxx is the name of the last folder you moved something to.

How to keep screen appearance of pro 6.0 & 8.0 when using X-pro

I've installed x-pro, each new pdf now opens opens a new screen window.
My old versions 6.0 - 8.0 have the "classic" screen appearance with all pdfs opening in same window with option to view each doc within same window.
I'd also like the look of the old style toolbars.
Can I customise x-pro to give me the screen view and tool bars I'm used to from my earlier versions of pro?

You have a lot less control over the toolbars with Acrobat 10.You can configure the QuickTools toolbar by adding tools to it, but that's it.
Acrobat 9 introduced the multiple document interface (MDI), and it is all that's available.
