How to keep Single Songs out of Album View? iTunes11

What is the proper way to label singles so that Album View does not contain an 'Unknown Album' for each artist with at least one song?
You would think leaving the 'album artist' and the 'album' field blank it would not put that song in album view, but that is not the case in iTunes 11. This is how it works on my phone (4S) (iOS 6.0.1) .
A work-around is to label all singles with the correct artist and title, but label all singles with the same album artist (i.e. 'various artists') and with the same album (i.e. 'singles'), but if you did that iTunes will automatically move all the files from the correct artist folder into one giant 'various artists' folder. (if the 'keep itunes media folder organized box is checked)

Each time I load a CD onto Itunes that has an artist who features another artist on that particular song, it puts it in my library as a separate CD even though it will have the same album listed. For instance Lady Gaga's song just dance features Colby O'Donnis that song is in its own spot while the rest of the cd is together that one song is separate and I don't know how to keep them all together. Get the Informations for that song and have a look in the "Sorting" area if there is something different. The data inserted there is just for how iTunes will order the songs.
If the Interpret in the general informations is "Lady Gaga" and in the sorting area is "Lady Gaga feat. xxxx" than you'll see Lady Gaga as the interpret but it's sort to a second entry "Lady Gaga feat. xxxx".

If you are trying to do it from an iPad, it is not possible. But, if you log into your iTunes account on a PC or Mac, you can gift a single song by clicking the little triangle, as pictured below.

ITunes store songs out of album order

I have a problem with two albums I've bought throught iTunes - the songs are out of order (as they should be on the album). On one album, one of the songs was part of a celebrity playlist when I bought it, and on the other, one of the songs was a single of the week.
Now, those two songs won't be put in the right order with the rest of the album - they both appear as the first song of the album. I've tried changing all of the album and song info under "Get Info" - they're named right, they have the right album liste, and have the right track number - but they still appear as the first track of the ablum in my library and on my iPod.
Other than making a playlist for the album and manually arrangin the tracks, how can I fix this in my library?

I have ensured that all the details of each song in the album match up completely, i.e. the same year, artist, composer etc.
So when you checked the "details" with the Get Info window for the song, did you look in the Info tab to verify that the +Track Number+, 1 of 11, 2 of 11, etc... was entered correctly for each song in the album set?

I close the browser so I can see the list of tracks and albums in the library. With the browser open and one album selected (to play it), it is the only album visible in the library. I found no way to "navigate away from the window with the browser" - the browser is the only view of the library available at that point. I am not using playlists at all (except for syncing with my iPhone and occasionally to burn a CD) so, no, I am not navigating to a different (or any) playlist.
Aha. That's easy enough to fix: create a playlist (called "Editing" or something) containing all of your music. (You could make it a smart playlist, using the rule "Date added is after 1/1/1900"). Then, while leaving the Browser open in your main library window, you can navigate to your Editing playlist to do all your editing. Then your album will remain selected, and keep playing, in the main library.
iTunes's functionality is dependent on playlists. There are solutions to the problems you are having, but trying to solve problems without using any playlists is like asking for help with organizing things on the Desktop without wanting to use folders.
Here's another solution: Leave everything checked, as I said above. Create an empty playlist, and tell Party Shuffle to use that empty playlist as its source. Then, if you highlight tracks, control-click them, and choose "Play next in Party Shuffle," Party Shuffle will add those tracks and play only them, then stop (because it will try to draw the next track from the empty playlist, and not find anything). I just tested this; it works fine.
Sorry, but I have no idea what you are talking about. After messing around for 20 minutes or more, trying the iTunes (pitiful) help, and finding nothing usable about "Party Shuffle" (the so called help describes things I was unable to locate -- no Party Shuffle playlist, no source pop-up menu, etc.), I quit.
Step-by-step:
1) In Preferences > General, make sure the "Party Shuffle" checkbox is checked in the "Show:" options.
2) Close Preferences, then select the Party Shuffle icon in the Playlists column on the left of your iTunes window. It's probably populated with random songs from your library at this point.
3) Create a new playlist (command-N), but don't add any songs to it. Name it "Empty" or something similar.
4) In the Party Shuffle playlist, in the lower left-hand corner, there is a drop-down menu labeled "Source". Select your Empty playlist from that menu. (iTunes will probably warn you that the playlist you selected is empty.) Note that the Party Shuffle playlist depopulates, because it is drawing its music from an empty playlist.
5) Return to your library, highlight an album (or any group of songs), and control-click any of the tracks. Select "Play next in Party Shuffle" from the contextual menu that appears.
Party shuffle will play the tracks you selected. When it gets to the end of the selection, it will try to draw a random track from the Empty playlist, and fail, and stop playing. You can then continue to edit song information in your library, or navigate to the Party Shuffle playlist if you want see what's playing and look at the album art that's being played.
This solution does exactly what you asked for.

Pete Philly, a Dutch singer, did a project, called "Open Loops". He uploaded a number of songs that didn't really fit in his new album, to be downloaded for free. I downloaded it, and it turns out that every song has its own illustration. I was curious if it was possible for several songs on one album to have different illustrations in iTunes. Is it possible? One way around this is to edit the album info for each song on that album and make the album artist 'various artists', or you can remove that duet artist and make all the artists the same.
Seems to be a glitch or change with how iTunes sees albums now. THey alphabetize them by artist and, as you've noticed, if the artists are different, it sees them as different albums.
I had many albums like this and spent a whole weekend editing the info to 'various' to clean it up.

I also went to get info and told it was a compulation and re-named everything to match and it still won't go. Why is this SIMPLE thing so hard to do. WHY.
You might ask why not just delete the whole album and start over. I would but I have to re-name all tracks by names because the CD is so old it only has Track numbers 1 through 12. I have downloaded 32 songs that belongs to a Various artists Album. In iTunes I see the album and songs in 3 different ways.
1. Album with artwork and only 18 songs
2. Album and artwork and 11 songs (not same as above)
3. 3 songs with no artwork but the info is the same and indicates the correct album.

Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist will fix things.

In this case the issue is caused by the fact that you are sorting on the Date Added column and two unrelated tracks were imported during the same time frame as the album in question.

Songs out of Album Order on iPod

All my songs appear in the correct album order in iTunes. But for a few albums they are all jumbled up on my iPod Touch. So for example, one particular album will have all the tracks appearing in ascending order from 1 to 10 in iTunes. However, on the iPod, they appear as 1, 3, 5, 2, 7, 9, 4, 6, 8, 10. I have ensured that all the details of each song in the album match up completely, i.e. the same year, artist, composer etc., but re-syncing the iPod makes no difference.
