How to keep songs from the same album together in the Walkman app?
How do I keep songs from the same album together in one album instead of it being spilt up into three different albums? Is there any way to keep this from happening? I have all of the correct album information, but it still happens. I thought I would use Media Go and see if it helps but it never works properly.
Any suggestions would be much appreicated.
Make sure your Album information in mp3 tags is all the same in all tracks belonging to the same album.

If, despite having the same album information in mp3 tags and clearing cache memory, you still get multiple entries or songs belonging to the same album are split into 2-3 albums, then I suggest an easy way.
Use Winamp and create an *.m3u playlist in the same directory you have the mp3 files stored in your phone. This playlist will then appear in Playlists - My Playlists and you will be able to enjoy your music in correct order of tracks and all the tracks will be there.
That is my method (using m3u Winamp playlists) simply because Walkman app does not respect the Track Number tag in mp3 files belonging to the same album and rather sorts the tracks within the same album based on Date Created.

Because I am traveling for a while, I moved my iTunes library from my iMac to my MacBook Pro. Now, when I open it up, I find that a number of albums have their songs scattered over several different albums, all of the same nsme (even though the library on the iMac displayed songs in the same album together. When I do a get info on the songs (from the same album that appear in different albums), the information appears to be identical, but I am unable to figure out a way to get the songs together in the same album.

How do I get all the same artist together in the same folder??
I have alot of artist that only have 3 or 4 songs to each album.. and there will be 4 different copies of the same album cover. Put together it would have all the songs to that album but I'm tired of having to search through each one to find the song I'd like to listen to. PLEASE HELP

This is fundamentally about the logical organisation within iTunes, but if you happen to be letting iTunes "Keep iTunes Music folder organised" then it should also sort out the physical file structure as you amend your tags.

Why won't iTunes group songs from a compilation album together
Most of my CDs are compilation trance CDs. iTunes ignores the facts that they all come from the same album and groups them by composer instead, forcing me to create playlists for songs that should be grouped together. This occurs even for albums purchased as albums from the iTunes store. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just poor programming?
Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist will fix things.
For compilation albums set Album Artist to Various Artists and Part of a compilation to Yes.

Thanks, Michelle. xYou can select multiple songs at the same time. If they are all in a row (one after the other), click the first one to select it, press and hold the Shift key, then click the last one. Drag and drop the entire selection to the iPod shuffle under DEVICES.
You should also be able to select songs not in a row by pressing and holding the Option and Command keys, then clicking on the songs you want to select. Once selected, drag and drop any select songs and they should all follow.
Also (the most convenient way to fill the shuffle), you can use the Autofill feature at the bottom of the iPod's Contents tab in iTunes. First, make a new playlist and call it "shuffle songs" or whatever you want to call it. Put all the songs you want on the shuffle into that playlist. Now go to the Autofill controls and select to +Autofill from+ the playlist you just created and populated. Then, click on the "Autofill" button. The shuffle will sync with the playlist all in one shot, instead of having to do it manually a bit at a time.
To answer your second question, you can drag the songs in the iPod's Contents tab to reorder them. The sequential order of the songs in the shuffle is as shown when you click at the top of the leftmost column (the one with the numbers). With this column selected (the header should be highlighted), you can drag the songs to be in the order you want. -
How to play songs from iPhone 3G in iTunes on the Computer

Maybe my question is some bit silly but I am also more than perplex at this moment. For storage reasons all my iTunes song files (no purchased songs from iTunes store, but all CD imported) are stored on a server volume.
Syncing my iPhone 3G together on my PowerBook with iTunes works well but ... when I am on travel I would like to play (only to play, not to transfer!) the synced songs from my iPhone on my connected PowerBook on iTunes in order to stream the music to an Apple Airport Express Adapter. I can see the songs greyed out on my iPhone but I can not play them.
Is there something wrong in my iTunes configuration or does I have missed an important "concept"? Do I really need to carry with me my iPhone together with an external HD drive where all songs files are stored on it? In this "application" case the iPod functionality of my iPhone 3G would be really useless. I can belief that.

Thank you for your response. I would like to play the songs on my iPhone on the very same computer, account and iTunes Library I synced my iPhone with. Although there is no play access to the songs on my iPhone from iTunes. I thought I could take them with me and play the songs on my iPhone to the very same computer I synced it with. It Seems not to work as concept? So I think I have to buy a "stupid" docking station to make it complicate.

Why does iTunes display the same album art for different songs, but from the same artist?

a couple of days ago I decided I wanted all of my songs to have an album art. Before I didn't actually care, but since I discovered the view mode with the album arts at the top (the fourth one) I began searching for the right arts, since I like it this way.
I've stumbled upon a problem though. When I add two or more songs from the same artist, iTunes chooses to assign the same album art to the songs. It chooses the album art of the song I added first to my music library. How do I get it to show the proper album art?
I use a program called 'Mp3Tag' to change all the information of my songs. When it's just a single, I end up having an 'artist', 'title', 'genre' and 'cover'. The rest of the information doesn't bother me. With albums I add more information though.
Here's an example:
I added two songs, one being 'Usher - Climax (Kaskade Remix)' and the other one being 'Usher - Scream'. The one added first was 'Scream'. As you can see below, iTunes somehow assigns the same album art to both songs, while clicking on 'get info' clearly shows the songs have different album arts.
I discovered something else though:
When adding an 'album name' to the songs, they will show properly, as seen below. The thing is though, I don't want to add an album name. When I sync the songs to my iPod, my 'albums' list will show all of the songs as well, which I don't want.
Is there any way to solve this another way where iTunes won't sort by album, but by song title?

Songs with the same album art not grouped together in iTunes for Windows
Brand new iTunes user here - do not yet have an iPod! (Needed some music only on iTunes)
When I first started up iTunes, it imported all of my music I already had on my computer. A few of them are soundtracks with different artists.
When they are shown in the iTunes library, the soundtracks have been broken up by Artist instead of staying as a whole album. How do I get the songs back together as one album? I found the folder on my computer where they are stored and combined them there, but they are still separate in the iTunes library.
Thanks from a total newbie!Mark the tracks on the album as "Part of a compilation" and fill in the Album Artist field as "Various Artists". Click on the first track of your album to highlight it, hold down the shift key and click on the last track to highlight everything in between. Right click on the selection and choose Get Info. You'll get a message asking if you want to edit multiple items, say yes. If you are using iTunes 8 in the box that opens go to the Options tab and change "part of a compilation" to Yes and choose OK.
Also in your library click on the title bar of album column to bring all the tracks in the same album together. If you keep clicking in the title you can choose it to sort by Album, Album by Artist or Album by Year. Clicking on the little triangle on the right side of the column header changes the sort direction. Pointing up and the column is sorted in Ascending order (A to Z). Pointing down and the column is sorted in Descending order (Z to A).

It's done it with a load of cds, so then I can't even get the album artwork to work. Please help! It's starting to bug me haha
In iTunes select all songs you want in the same album, right click the selection, choose "get info", type the album name in the album field, click OK.

uploaded music to iCloud and it broke up my albums, I now have the same albums in different location with 2 or 3 songs on each one, can I make them whole albums again and how do I keep it from happening again?

If that was confusing, I'll reexplain it:
S, I bought 2 Lil Jon Kings of Crunk songs from itunes that were on the same album. The album was clean with no explicit sign on the artwork. Prior to buying those songs, before I had money in itunes, I got a song from that album from youtube, and I didn't put in "- clean" in the album name of that song. So, yesterday, I combined those 3 songs into just one clean album (the youtube song was clean also). Now, the 2 bought songs have the artwork without the explicit sign, but the youtube song has no artwork at all anymore. How can I make them share the same artwork?Drag the artwork from the artwork window to the desktop. Then, select the song without artwork and drag the artwork to the blank artwork window.

Does anyone know how to keep all songs in the same album when they say featuring someone?
Each time I load a CD onto Itunes that has an artist who features another artist on that particular song, it puts it in my library as a separate CD even though it will have the same album listed. For instance Lady Gaga's song just dance features Colby O'Donnis that song is in its own spot while the rest of the cd is together that one song is separate and I don't know how to keep them all together. Someone help.
Get the Informations for that song and have a look in the "Sorting" area if there is something different. The data inserted there is just for how iTunes will order the songs.
If the Interpret in the general informations is "Lady Gaga" and in the sorting area is "Lady Gaga feat. xxxx" than you'll see Lady Gaga as the interpret but it's sort to a second entry "Lady Gaga feat. xxxx". -

I don't see your screenshot but I assume you're starting with something like this, i.e., the compilation split into multiple albums:
If you select all the items that you want to be in a single album, right-click > Get Info you'll see this:
As you say, in iTunes 12 you don't see a field to enter a distinct Album Artist value. You can, however, address this by clicking the Add Field button and selecting Album Artist:
That makes the field available in the metadata dialog so that you can enter the required value:
You can also show the pre-iTunes 12 version of the dialog by holding the SHIFT key when selecting Get Info - this allows you to enter the Album Artist directly:
