How to keep the internet connection alive?

Hi, I am a new Macbook user and everytime my computer goes to screen saver or sleep mode it keeps losing the internet connection. Is this normal? Is anyway to keep the internet alive even is the computer goes to "sleep mode"?
I mean, it is quite a pain to keep signing in at messenger everytime I wake up my computer or come back from screen saver

I do not know of a way. When your computer goes into sleep mode, it basically shuts itself down and stores everything in memory. Nothing is moving or working because the whole point of sleep mode is to conserve the battery. If it is really bothering you, go into System Preferences and change the amount of time it takes for the computer to go to sleep.

There are several ways to implement this using simple timing features of LabVIEW. Two fairly simple methods are comparing system time stamps or using the Wait VI provided in the Timing palette. The time stamp comparison requires a little bit more programming, but can be included in your main program loop. To use the Wait function, you will probably need to construct a new loop parallel to your main loop. I have attached screenshots of these two implementations. Pc & Laptop: How to share the internet connection via Bluetooth?

Hi,
I've recently bought a laptop and i'm having trouble figuring out how to share the internet via bluetooth from my desktop pc. I can connect using the Personal Area Network (PAN) but i'm not sure how to send the internet. whatever i've been told to try so far as all failed.
i'm sure this questions been asked quite alot, so i'm sorry to ask again)
could someone tell me a step by step setup?

The dialogs for Windows XP might be a little different, but the configuration will be the same.

How to fix the internet connection on itunes

Everytime I run the diagnostics it tells me that the internet connection test and the secure link to itunes store test has failed. And when I try to go to the itunes help it says I need internet connection to do so. My internet connection is fine though. Any ideas on hwo to fix this? I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes.

Another web site tipped me off. Here is their fix:
We figured out a way to get around this latest set of errors, for Vista users.
Go to itunes. By default, it installs to c:\program files\itunes. (the shortcut link will not work).
Right click on the file, and go to properties.
Click on the compatiblity tab.
Click on the checkbox for run this program in compatiblity mode for:. By default it will go to Windows XP (Service Pack 2). That is fine.
Click ok, and then run Itunes. That allowed us to access the Itunes store.

How to keep the internet security setting when I restart

I have a windows 7 professional sp1 and would like to know how can I enable the "Launching applications and unsafe files" local policy and keep enabled in spite of restarting the computer.
Now if I restart pc this local policy is Not defined again.
Can anybody help me?

This is my solution:
Local Computer Policy / User Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Attachment Manager
2. On the right pane, double click Inclusion list for low file types.
3. Click Enable.
4. Include the file types such as .exe;.bat;.reg;.vbs in the Options box.
5. Click OK.
There isn't any gpo related to this so when restarting the .bat extension I attached to the local policy remains there.

Setting-up the Internet Connection

Hi All, my systems has the following Linksys products:
modem - ADSL2MUE
wireless router 1 - WRT54GS (1st floor)
wireless router 2 - WRT54G (2nd floor)
switch - SR2024 (for cable connections)
I was able to connect all the PC to the internet. My problem is I could not make all the PC be in same Gateway number in which I could not share the network printers and files to all PCs. Is there any way to solve this problem? Below are settings to each device:
ADSL2MUE - Bridge Mode only
WRT54G - IP Address (192.168.1.1), PPPoE
WRT54GS - IP Adress (192.168.2.1), DHCP
* ADSL2MUE Internet Port is connected to WRT54G Internet port
* WRT54G Ethernet Port 1 is connected to SR2024 Ethernet Port
* WRT54GS Internet Port is connected to SR2024 Ethernet Port
* Printer 1 is connected to SR2024 Ethernet port (2nd floor)
* Printer 2 is connected to WRT54GS Ethernet Port (1st floor)
* All PCs in the 1st floor is using 192.168.2.1 gateway number thru WRT54GS wireless connection.
* All PCs in the 2nd floor is using 192.168.1.1 gateway number thru WRT54G and SR2024.
I need your help on this.

It does not matter how you set the internet connection type on the second router when nothing connects to the internet port. The internet connection type is used for the configure of the connection through the internet port. As nothing is connected in the internet port the setting is basically inoperable and makes no difference whatever you set there. You should not set a static IP address as that may affect the routing tables on the router even if the internet interface is down. Thus, just leave it on Automatic/DHCP and it should be fine.

My MBP keeps dropping the internet connection

Since yesterday, my MBP (Late 2011) keeps dropping the internet connection from my Airport Express. I'm still connected to the network, it just loses the internet connection on the MBP. I restart the computer, and it works for a few minutes. I turn off router, and it works for a few mimutes...but no matter what I do, after 2-3 minutes, I get the exclamation mark in the wifi indicator saying there is no internet connection.
And this is only happening on that single MBP. All of the other devices in the house, another MBP (mid 2012), an iPad (retina with lightning connector) and 2 iPhones (one 4 and one 5), can all connect. And the router we have is an airport express.
Why is this happeneing only on the one computer, and how can I fix this?

Do they have plans to fix the bugs with Yosemite. I keep losing internet connection on my Mac Book

Ever since i installed Yosemite on my Mac Book pro i keep losing internet connection. Should I go back to mavericks because I just hate this Yosemite or do they plan to fix the bugs soon? All software has bugs. The first release (which you have) will be the worst.
Many advocate not upgrading to a new operating system until it's been out for 3 months or longer. In the Windows world many recommend not upgrading until a full year has passed.
So yes, most / some bugs and glitches will get fixed over time. If you wish to reduce your difficulties in the future wait a while before installing ANY new OS.
I suggest you post specific details on your Internet problems. How are you connected etc.

Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make/model, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

Try completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your Adobe ID.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

I have been on the phone for Apple since 5:30 Eastern Time today. We are still on the phone with them. It is 10:14 PM. We are going to get a new phone because the ios6 has major problems! The wifi connectivity is a serious problem. Apple is aware of it. More people need to do something about it. I am willing to start a class action suit against them. I have means to an attorney pro bono. If you are having problems using your iphone 4 or 4s with wifi and ios6...I suggest you spend time calling a senior advisor and get a new phone sent to you. They know they messed up but they can't fix it.

How to keep the digital audio ouptut alive?

I'm connecting my MBP audio via the optical digital audio connection and the digital stream disconnects after a short time (30 seconds? I haven't timed it.) whenever there's no audio coming out of the MBP: the optical actually stops transmitting (the LED goes dead).
When it disconnects, my audio system tells me there's no signal and whenever an audio event occurs, it wakes up and inevitably the top of the audio signal is missing, as there's not enough time for the receiver to "wake up" before the audio event happens. I've actually tested this on two systems and it does the same thing.
So, is there any way to keep the digital output alive, even if silent? I'm running powered with settings on "Performance" so there's no power-related reason for the digital audio to turn off. I haven't been able to find any other system settings that could help. Thanks for any pointers.
