THIS IS NOT EVEN AN IDEA.  THIS IS JUST SIMPLE BUSINESS 101.   I BROUGHT THIS ISSUE 2 YEARS AGO AND ENDED UP TALKING TO A NICE SUPERVISOR THAT UNDERSTOOD MY POSITION AND ENDED UP WITH THE SAME DEAL NEW CUSTOMER WILL GET FOR CURRENT CUSTOMER WHO WANTS TO RENEW THEIR CONTRACT FOR ANOTHER 2 YEARS!!!.  AS WE ALL KNOW VERIZON HAVE A GREAT DEAL FOR NEW CUSTOMER BUT THIS DEAL IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THEIR 2 OR 10 YEARS CUSTOMER THAT WANT TO RENEW THEIR CONTRACT?????  I UNDERSTAND THE IDEA AND FINANCIAL PART OF DOING THAT BUT THEY ARE WRONG. BECAUSE MY 2 YEARS CONTRACT EXPIRED IN 4 MONTHS AND IF THEY DON'T GET ME THE SAME DEAL THEY ARE OFFERING TO THEIR NEW CUSTOMER, I WILL BE LOOKING FOR THEIR COMPETITOR.  I MEAN THEY NEE DOT ADD IN THEIR DICTIONARY WHAT LOYAL CUSTOMERS MEANS OR LOOK INTO HOW TO KEEP YOUR CURRENT CUSTOMERS, I MEAN I MIGHT NOT EVEN CARE IF THEY STOP SENDING ME ALL THESE ADS ALMOST EVERYWEEK ABOUT ALL THESE GREAT DEALS NEW CUSTOMERS GET, I FEEL LIKE CHEATED....BY THE WAY, I HAVE BEEN WITH VERIZON FOR 6 YEARS NOW....AND I AM CERTAIN, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE, IF YOU ARE CURRENT CUSTOMER LIKE ME YOU WILL CERTAINLY WILL AGREE IF YOU SEE WHAT THEY ARE OFFERING TO NEW CUSTOMER....YOU WILL FEEL LIKE BETRAYED.....

    I don't know if it works out or not but if you want to try then refer below steps
    1). download SCCP-dictionary.utf-8.xml from CUCM (tftp -i GET SCCP-dictionary.utf-8.xml)
    2). Edit that file which contains "Your current options" as per your requirement and save it.
    3). Upload file to all tftp servers (if you have multiple).
    4). Restart tftp service of all tftp servers (if you have multiple).
    If restarting tftp service don't help you then try to do factory reset of the phone.

    Settings > Mail.... > Your account > Advanced > Delete from server > Never.
    However, this will risk re-downloading as new mail
    IMAC  accounts mirror what's on the phone in the server, so deleting from the inbox on the phone will either send it to the trans folder on the server or leave it in the inbox but marked as deleted (depending on the server)
    Settings > Mail.... > your account > Advanced > Deleted Mailbox > On My iPhone Trash

    you should never have to return the product once you bought and are under contract.  At no point can they make you return it. 
    As far as the iPhone 5 is concerned, just like Brad said, activate it through itunes and if a problem arises just call att.

  • Here's how to use your own custom Webclip icons for the sites you visit.

    This method is pretty much 95% taken from this URL: http://allinthehead.com/retro/319/how-to-set-an-apple-touch-icon-for-any-site , so credit where credit is due. The instructions are a bit hard to understand though, so I'll try to make it easier for everyone.
    Fortunately, this works for both Macs and PCs.
    INSTRUCTIONS:
    Requirements:
    - iPhone on 1.1.3 and any version of iTunes that can sync to iPhone
    - Adobe Photoshop or any other image editing program that can crop, alter image size, and save .png image files. (Recommended 24-bit .pngs as they are higher quality)
    - Apple Safari ( http://www.apple.com/safari/, and yes, you need it.)
    - A website or ftp where you can upload images and directly link to them, like Google Pages.
    Warning:
    - This requires you to sync your Safari bookmarks to your iPhone. You will probably lose all of your iPhone's bookmarks if you don't already sync your Safari bookmarks with your iPhone. Only proceed if you do not mind losing your iPhone's current bookmarks and do not mind re-entering them after the bookmark sync. NOTE: The bookmark sync DOES NOT get rid of your current Webclips though, so don't worry about those.
    Easy Steps:
    1) First, make sure that you are following these instructions in the Apple Safari web browser.
    2) Find an image you wish to make into a Webclip icon. (ex: I prefer to use movies.yahoo.com to look at movie showtimes, so I found an image of a movie reel from Google Image Search and decided to use that.)
    3) Open the image with your preferred image editor and crop your desired image into a perfect square. Resize that picture down to 57x57 pixels. Save as a 24-bit .png file. Upload the icon to your webpage or ftp. (ex: I ended up with this icon of a movie reel: http://ctolpin.googlepages.com/appleicon01.png )
    4) Select and copy the javascript code in this .txt file: http://ctolpin.googlepages.com/webclipcode.txt
    5) Go to Bookmarks and select "Add Bookmark..."
    6) Type in "Webclip Icon URL"
    7) Go to Bookmarks again and select "Show all Bookmarks."
    8) Right-click your new "Webclip Icon URL" bookmark and select "Edit Address"
    9) Paste your clipboard's contents into the field.
    10) Plug your iPhone into the computer if it's not connected already.
    11) In iTunes, select your iPhone from the right column. Select the Info tab. Scroll down to "Web Browser" and check "Sync bookmarks with: Safari" (obviously, make sure Safari is selected from the dropdown menu).
    12) Once your iPhone is synced, use your iPhone to navigate to your intended website target to make into a Webclip. Remember that Webclips save where you zoom in as well! (ex: For me, it was movies.yahoo.com and then entering in my zip code.)
    13) Once you've loaded your target website, open up the bookmarks in iPhone's Safari, select Bookmarks Bar, then select Webclip Icon URL.
    14) Type in the address of your uploaded icon. (ex: In my case, it is http://ctolpin.googlepages.com/appleicon01.png)
    15) iPhone's Safari will seem like it didn't do anything. However, add that webpage now to your home screen as a Webclip. Magic.
    Additional note:
    It is easiest to make a bunch of icons at first and to upload them. However, once that "Webclip Icon URL" bookmark is in your iPhone, there is no need to go back and do any of the computer Safari steps again

    Your display obviously is not like mine as mine does not dosplay the port associated with the ip address
    whatever, the STB's start at 192.168.1.100 and icement by 1 for each
    the port addr's will be 63145 alo incrementing by 1
    there is 1 entry for each in my pf list
    however each ip addr also has a port entry starting at 35000 also incrementing by 1 for each ip addr
    For some unknow reason these are duplicated e.g I appear to have 11 entries exaactly the same for each stb and as the fios services rules have no action switc there is nowhere to delete the extraneous garbage.
    Why do you clone the mac addr??

    I've looked through the iPhone manual online to try and find the answer, but with no luck.
    *As an existing AT&T member, how is your current phone number assigned to the iPhone?*
    Based on the instructions wording:
    +"Important: If you are migrating your current phone number to iPhone, activation may take from several hours to a day and migration of your number may take several days, depending on your location and previous carrier."+
    ..I take it that it will be a similar porting process as if I were with another carrier.
    The only other way I see it happening as an existing AT&T member is that a new phone# will be assigned to the iPhone but you request of AT&T to assign it your primary# instead.
    Am I close or way off? And by how much?

    When activating an iPhone via iTunes, you are provided the option as an existing subscriber, or as a new subscriber.
    When activating an iPhone as an existing subscriber, you have the option to transfer your existing number to the iPhone and iPhone's SIM card - entering your existing phone number with area code in the space provided, or requesting a new phone number to be assigned by at&t.
    As a new subscriber, you have the option to port a number from another provider, or request a new number be assigned by at&t.
    When I activated my iPhone last June 29 as an existing subscriber, the entire process took about 5 minutes - to be able to place and receive calls. This took longer for some, but as an existing subscriber with a non-business account, it shouldn't take several days - but it can take several days when porting a number from another provider = depending on the provider.

  • How To Keep Your iPhone Safe At The Gym

    I have a problem with the Otterbox Defender (or more like a worry).
    Here is my  worry.  I like to use my iPhone at the gym.  I also have an iPod touch.   I have used the iPod touch at the gym, with no problems (it has a very  thin rubber protector).
    I prefer the iPhone because my gym lacks  wi-fi, so I can't get pandora.  Here is the problem.  The Otterbox is  not too bulky, but more bulky than the iPod touch.
    So when I do a couple of exercises, with the iPhone in my pocket, I get nervous.
    For  instance, say I do a dumbell exercise (curls), well the DB comes close  to contact with the front/side of my leg where the iPhone is in the  pocket.
    If I do a dumbell bench, same problem, you begin with the DB in your lap, right next to the phone.
    The biggest is when I do deadlift, because again the bar almost grazes the front/side of my shorts where the iPhone resides.
    Now  so far, no problems, but this makes me very concerned.  I am worried  that I am either going to knick, hit, or drop a DB on my lap with the  iPhone in my pocket getting touched, or the deadlift barbell will hit  it.
    So I have a few questions......
    1)  Am I being a worry busybody or is this really playing with fire?
    2)   What do you all do when you workout in the gym (lifting weights, cardio  is no problem, very safe).  Do you keep your iPhone in your pocket or  do you have/recommend an armband?
    Most people I see in the gym have  it in their pocket, a few use bands...so that makes me thing perhaps am I  just worrying, but I dunno.
    3) Do you recommend an armband, or  is the ottorbox going to protect it just fine if I hastly hit the phone  in my pocket with a barbell or dumbell?
    4) Or if I had the Griffen defender, would I be all set even if I drop a 60 DB on myself!
    ***Note to mods, I decided to make a separate thread for this topic, instead of putting it in the "protection" or "gym call disable" one because this is a larger question, and a very important one.
    I felt if I put in one of the prior ones, already a few pages into it, this would be missed, and for people using the phone at the gym who want protection, indeed this is a larger, different topic.

    To prevent exposing http header information, we modified $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/config/custom.conf file, and would like to keep the changes from being overwritten by autoconfig. We changed in template $FND_TOP/admin/template/custom/custom_conf_1013.tmp, and run Autoconfig.
    After, we see all the files in $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.3/Apache/Apache/conf directory were updated, except for the custom.conf file. Can anyone tell us what we may have missed? Would like our manual changes to be there.

    All this and when trying to find a fix in PP Hunt asked me what driver my mouse was using. Heck I don't know.
    As I begin to search for the answer I can across a site called "Driver Fetch". For $29.95 they would install the latest drivers on my system for one year.
    Is this the way to go to keep all my drivers current?
    So as 2 not Harm my system, the Hunt is on.

    I agree with Harm.
    I get new drivers, when I find some issue, and seldom before. While new drivers can fix a lot of issues, they can also cause myriad problems. Case in point: nVidia had a whole series of video drivers, that contained some extreme gamer-only modules. These wrecked many Adobe products! The answer was to roll-back to previous drivers, or manually disable those particular modules. In time, nVidia made some changes, and released new "Adobe-friendly" drivers. For my workstation, I think I have only upgraded my nVidia Quadro drivers 3x in 4 years. I also keep the old driver versions handy.
    Every program on all of my computers is set to NOT update automatically. I want to be notified, if there is an update, but then I will decide when/if I update. Every time that I forget, some program auto-updates and I have issues. I had forgotten to set Java to manual update, and it did its thing, when I was in the process of Saving a big image file in PS - it killed PS and for the first time in 20+ years, I had to trash my Preferences file!
    Now, two thing to become familiar with are Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager. You can gain a lot of knowledge about current drivers there. Next is a little built-in utility, Start>Run>dxdiag. Plenty of tabs and info there.
    I'd not go with any auto-updating program, and for most of the reasons that Harm states. I also only want to change things, if the cease working. As Harm states, "if it ain't broke... " I also do not want any updating, while I am working. I'll do it on my own time.

  • How to keep your MSI Clock Settings.

    To all:
    I've got known that many MSI VGA card users complain that they are not able to keep their clock settings after doing some adjustment after a restart. I've been able to keep the settings even after a shutdown and cold boot up. I've also trial and test after many times to confirm these steps.
    1st: Do the necessary adjustment you want.
    2nd: Test the adjustment with BenchMarks Tools to make sure that it can run under that particular enviroment.
    3rd: Once everything is tested and proves to be OK, go to "settings" tab in Display Properties.
    4th: Click on "Advanced" button.
    5th: Click on "GeForce FX5900 Ultra(Depending on your card model)" tab.
    6th: Click on "Ok" Note: A warning message from nVidia will appear telling you that you've chosen the clock adjustment for every startup of the system and if the system fail to bootup using that settings, you'll have to press on Ctrl button to reset back to defaults settings.
    7th: Restart System
    8th: Re-check clock settings.
    All the Best... !!!
