How to keyframe 3D transform objects in Motion

hello,
i cant seem to find how to keyframe a 3d transform object in my project?
i have a text object that id like to spin in 3d but i cant seem to find where to keyframe in the inspector or timeline...
thanks!
steven

hi,
I dont want to appear rude but have you looked in the manual under keyframes?
If you highlight the text object ( maybe better the layer its in in case you want to add more text later),
and hope over to the inspector you can click on the triangle next to the rotation parameter to show all three degrees of rotation. You can add keyframes by clicking the contextual manual to the right of the parameter or by turning on the big red button and manually moving the object.
Or instead of keyframing you could add a spin behaviour to the object.

  • How do I eliminate unwanted objects in shot?

    Hi all,
    I have a tracking shot I want to utilize, but have to truncate this due to the fact that there is an unwanted reflection of a crew member in the chrome frame of the set table. Is the use of masks the most obvious solution to this problem and does this have to be implimented frame by frame? Any tips on ensuring the removal of these objects are seamless? Thank you in advance for any help?
    Ibook 1.2, 512 Meg, Lacie D2 250 gig Ext drive, FC 4.5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    I'm thinking that aftereffects has a motion tracker that can track a spot on the video where your unwanted object is, without seeing your footage, but making an assumption that a shinny mirror like surface was in fact what you had the reflection on, you could use the motion tracker to track the reflection and add a little blur and then a little tint possible to match the frames color;
    This would avoid the need for you to manually track the reflection, Motion tracking has flows in the way it devolopes keyframes, which will mean you will have the tweak the keyframs to get a smooth motion if the reflection is moving in the video frame;
    However this could speed up your results.
    I used motion tracking before when I worked on a PC, mostly to overlay new video onto something like a TV image, or to add animation to follow someones hand that sort of stuff. I never used it to remove an object, however if a little blur fixes the issue, and all you have to do is decided where on each frame to add the blur, motion tracking would likly be a big help;
    After effects Pro is what includes motion tracking:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/aftereffects/matrix.html
    I hope this at least give you an idea of how to start, or triggers some thought from others...
    p.s. you dont have to use the motion tracking data for a blur, you can use several points and have a mask created for you, or even use that data to clone from another video - once you have the data, you can generally be very creative with how you use that data in your footage.

  • How to retrieve the java object in a proxy service in osb -- Plz help

    Hi all,
    I have a singleton java class which runs whenever the weblogic server gets started and store the output in its object. I need to access this java object from a proxy service in osb.
    We tried using java call out and retrieved that object but we couldn't know how to parse that object into XML.
    We are not sure of using the java call out in osb to solve this purpose because whenever we use a java callout, that particular java code will run which is not the case of singleton class.
    So kindly help us how to retrieve the java object which holds the output without running the java code every time because its already run and holding the output in its object.
    Regards
    Prabhu

    here the doc http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/context.html#wp1106656
    but I guess you are already at the stage of getting a POJO in a first Java Callout and passing the POJO to a second Java Callout, which should then return it to OSB as a XMLObject.
    My recommendation is to write a Java function which returns a XMLObject and uses a XMLCursor to populate it with the values of the POJO.
    An XMLObject returned to the OSB is automatically transformed in a "XML" variable (which in reality is represented as a XMLObject in the Pipeline context)
    Here some code sample:

    I’m afraid you may have bitten off more than you might want to chew.
    The resulting pixels of an in-camera-blur combine information about the color/brightness of back- and foreground (edit: the result of surface properties and lighting conditions) with motion (basically transparency for this task) in such a way that it seems exceedingly difficult (maybe even improssible) to isolate the foreground in a »pure« form.
    One may get a halfway decent mask (as the backgound is at least almost uniform and brighter than the foreground elements) but you may have to manually decontaminate the transparent areas, otherwise the masked object in front of a dark background would have a bright edge.

  • How can I remove an object using Photoshop Elements 7?

    How can I remove an object using Photoshop Elements 7?

    You could probably use the 8 point garbage matte in this situation. I personally think the 8-point garbage matte is a bit cumbersome, but it should get the job done.
    1. Use the Razor Blade tool to place a cut before and after the shot with the bottle.
    2. Select the bottle clip.
    3. Press and hold Shift + Option, then drag the bottle clip up one track. This should create a duplicate clip directly above your original clip. (I'll refer to this duplicated clip as bottle2.)
    4. Locate the 8-point Garbage Matte filter and apply it to bottle2.
    5. Locate the Gaussian Blur filter and apply it to bottle2.
    6. Control click bottle1, and uncheck the "Clip Enable" setting from the shortcut menu. This will disable that clip.
    7. Double click bottle2 to load it into the Viewer. Then select the Filter tab.
    8. For the Garbage Matte filter, you'll notice 8 rows of numbers, these are the current locations for the control points, which you should be able to see in the Canvas. Start with point #1, and click the "+" button in the filters area, then in the Canvas click and drag to move the point. When you release the mouse button, you'll need to reclick the "+" button in the filters tab. Repeat these steps until you've isolated the bottle.
    9. Feather the edge of the matte.
    10. Adjust the Blur amount.
    11. Reenable bottle1. Playback the clip and make any necessary adjustments.
    Depending on your experience with Motion, you might also want to try sending bottle1 to Motion, then use Motion to control the layering.

  • Transformer object- fix note problem

    Hi, my first post!
    I'm using a transformer-object in the environment to transpose
    some incoming midi-notes in real time.
    This works so far, but somehow, all the notes that are played, 'hang'
    for some reason, like no 'note-off' command is been given.
    Also, when a note is triggered, a second note is triggered at release and
    being displayed in the matrix-editor.
    Is there anyone who can help me out?
    I'm stuck!

    How I'd probably tackle it is to filter out all the note offs from the input stream first, do my processing to modify/transform whatever notes etc I needed, and add back in the necessary noteoffs when I finally pass the converted notes to the instrument - this won't in general be a problem with drum voices because they largely ignore note-offs anyway, as drum voices don't generally respond to gate time.
    That way I know I always have a matching note-off following a note, and it's easier than trying to process the note-offs separately to match your note on processing, and keep everything in sync.
    To generate note offs for a note on event, pass your modified note-on only MIDI stream to a final transformer, and the use "copy matching events" in whichever order you need, leaving the note pitch to THRU, and setting the velocity to zero, so every incoming note will pass through the transformer, followed by it's associated transformed note off.
    If you have problems setting this up, post back and I'll take a look...
    Edit: Hmm, transformers won't let you fix a note velocity to zero, at least in LP8. That's annoying.
    I know I've done stuff like this before - I need to wait until I've got some clear head time to look at this... I think I ended up converting notes into other data types before converting them back into notes, specifically to break Logic's attempt at handling notes atomically, but can't remember offhand...

  • "Bounce" objects in Motion 5?

    Hey everyone,
    I am trying to make an intro like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yVM3fGiJrs
    And I was wondering how you could make the objects sort of "bounce" instead of just coming to a stop.
    The obvious answer it just to keyframe it going further up than you want it and then keyframe it going back down, but I don't think that would be a very convincing bounce.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Adam

    Group the objects that will bounce together. Add a Gravity Behavior to their group. Enclose that group in another group (select the group and type Command Shift G). Add an Edge Collision behavior to the "parent" group. Adjust the Height parameter to bring the bounce off the bottom edge of the canvas (if needed.) Adjust the Bounce Strength to about 40%. Adjust the Acceleration of the Gravity behavior to around 1000 (to start) and move the bouncing group above the canvas by about twice the distance it needs to travel (you might have to slide the behavior starts to before the start of the project to assist in timing the "entry" of the bouncing objects into the "scene"; and extend the out points of the behaviors to the end of the project so once the objects come to "rest", they'll stay in place.) Edge Collision + Gravity can provide a quite realistic bounce effect.

  • Cropping of excess transformed objects

    My problem is as follows:
    I have created a series of circles starting with a base circle then using two transform operations -- one to copy it down then another to copy the whole set across.  So that leaves me with a grid of circles.
    I have created an irregular clipping mask to restrict the circles to within the area of the clipping mask (blue sploosh)
    Everything looks fine in illustrator.  I have included a snapshot here with the clipping mask released so that you can see the objects being worked with.
    The problem comes in when I go to copy & past that artwork into photoshop.  What I get is the full spread of (clipped) circles which messes up sizing inside photoshop.  The clipping mask hid the excess circles but it did not get rid of them.  I have further tried using the pathfinder crop tool but that doesn't seem to work with transformed objects.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get rid of the spare inner circles so they are really gone and not simply hidden by the clip mask?

    @Jacob
    Thanks.  That was helpful in that it was the first time I've seen anything which was actually able to destructively get rid of the spares. The downside is that for reasons unknown the "blueness" from the sploosh underneath was removed... or more accurately, the it put a white background underneath the clipped circles.  If I turn off the circles group then the sploosh is visible underneath.  I fooled around with other options on the Object -> Flatten Transparency dialog and found I got more pleasing results by enabling Preserve Alpha Transparency but the things like the drop shadow just turned awful.  I'd be way better off to just manually drag circles around.
    That, at least, gave me SOME Illustrator operation that had some effect on the extra circles created by Effect -> Distort & Transform -> Transform option
    As you can probably tell, I'm a photoshop guy struggling to learn Illustrator.  I find myself partly awed at some of the things it can do and greatly annoyed at silly things like this (and don't even get me started on how awful the bevel options are in Illustrator vs. photoshop LOL).
    At least for the short-term I have a working vector image.  I can pull it into photoshop, rasterize it, then get rid of the spare bits... or simply ignore them since they are invisible.

  • How to update ADF VO object to refresh the data in ADF Pivot table

    I need to know how to update the View object so that the date in pivot table is refreshed/updated/filtered.
    here are the steps I performed to create ADF pivot table application using VO at design time.
    1) created a collection in a Data Control (ViewObject in an ApplicationModule) that provides the values I wanted to use for row and column labels as well the cell values (Used the SQL query)
    2) Dragged this collection to the page in which wanted to create the pivot table
    3) In the pivot table data binding editor specified the characteristics of the rows (which attribute(s) should be displayed in header), the columns (likewise) and the cells.
    Now, I have a requirement to update/filter the data in pivot table on click of check box and my question is how to I update the View object so that the date in pivot table is refreshed/updated/filtered.
    I have got this solution from one of the contact in which a WHERE clause on an underlying VO is updated based upon input from a Slider control. In essence, the value of the control is sent to a backing bean, and then the backing bean uses this input to call the "filterVO" method on the corresponding AppModule:
    but, I'm getting "operationBinding" object as NULL in following code. Please let me know what's wrong.
    here is the code
    Our slider component will look like
    <af:selectBooleanCheckbox label="Unit" value="#{PivotTableBean.dataValue}"
    autoSubmit="true" />
    The setDataValue() method in the backing bean will get a handle to AM and will execute the "filterVO" method in that, which takes the NumberRange as the input parameter.
    public void setDataValue(boolean value) {
    DataValue = value;
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    OperationBinding operationBinding = (OperationBinding)bindings.getOperationBinding("filterVO");
    Object result = operationBinding.execute();
    The filterVO method in the AMImpl.java will get the true or false and set the where Clause for the VO query to show values.
    public void filterVO(boolean value) {
    if (value != null) {
    ViewObjectImpl ibVO = getVO1();
    ibVO.setWhereClause("PRODUCT_TOTAL_REVENUE(+) where rownum < 10");
    ibVO.executeQuery();
    }

    Did you define a filterVO action in your pagedef.xml file?
    You might want to read on how to access service method from a JSF Web Application in the ADF Developer Guide for 10.1.3 chapter 8.5

    Its throws the error ie: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: UserTransaction not bound
    How to get the UserTransaction object in my session bean. Kindly give solution the above errors.
    - Thendral

    first of all, you could just use sessionContext.getUserTransaction(). however, that would only work if your bean is using bean-managed transactions. the default is container-managed transaction, in which case you cannot get a UserTransaction object. if you want to manage transactions, you need to add the TransactionManagementType.BEAN annotation to your ejb.
