How to Kill Check In/Out?

I am working on a site that must have been set up with
check-in/out, perhaps to use Contribute. I the only one working on
the site and the delays while DW 8 cross checks things are truly
aggravating. I have turned off Check In in my site definition. DW
turns it back on.
What do I have to do to remove this 'feature'?

1) connect to remote site with a different ftp client
(because the _mm
folder is hidden in dreamweaver's site file listing)
2) at the root level of the remote site, find the _mm folder
that contains
contribute.xml and delete it.
(this is the key. Dreamweaver looks for that file when it
connects to the
remote. the presence of contribute.xml on the remote site
tells recent dw
versions that it is a Contribute site, and to enable
checkin/checkout and
.bak files regardless of your choice. The contribute Admin's
choices have
priority over your choices.)
3) while looking around with the other ftp client, may as
well look for and
delete any file ending with the .LCK file extension.

After the full clean installation of Lion, the MBP 13" has started too be too much slow. How can i check it out in order to solve this big problem? tks in advance!

After i completed a full and clean installation of Lion, (it's to say not upgrading Snow Leopard but inizialing the hd and installing the new OS), every operations have started to make the laptop too much slow just working on Safari or Iphoto. How can i check out if everything is running finely or searchinf out something wrong?

BS heißt "Bull___****". *lol* "Betriebssystem" heißt imemr noch "operating system". GoLive wirste wohl gar nicht zum laufen kriegen. ohnehin würde man es nicht mehr verwenden, weil es noch nicht mal CSS2 voll unterstützt geschweige denn HTML 5 und andere moderne Webstandards. Wenn überhaupt, dann findeste vielleicht noch 'ne OEM CD von Strato oder 1und1 bei eBay. Die haben das damals mit jedem neuen Hostingvertrag rausgehauen. Aber wie gesagt, es ist den Aufwand nicht wert. Illustrator sollte sich durchaus installieren lassen. Eventuell einfach nochmal die Installer im Win XP Kompatibilitätsmodus laufen lassen...

Content Server 6.1: How to disable check-in/out opertation?

Hello,
We have developed a custom application that would process the content items through a workflow. Our business users are frustrated with the content items being accidentally locked out. They would edit a content item and would approve it to the next stage without checking in the content item. As such the items remains locked by them and the portal administrator has to manually unlock the item through content server explorer.
Is there a way to disable the entire check-in/out operation? Or as alternative is there a way to automatically check-in the content item when the user approves the content item?

Hi Jignesh, I apologize, I thought I was on 6.1 but in fact I'm on 6.2:(
I assume they are fairly similar though.
The solution I was talking about is to go into your publisher explorer and set the folder security in such a way that the checkin/checkout buttons don't appear.
I dont know which setting that is off the tob of my head but I believe its Submitter. They will only see one button called "Submit for Approval". So that could be for your workflow initiator. Then the remainder of your workflow people can have the same security option, except the final publisher who will need Editor permission to see the Publish button, which will also allow them to checkin.

If you do manage to get access, then synchronise the subscribed folders to get a copy downloaded to Thunderbird Profile folders. As those folders are constantly updating to match the server, once you have the emails downloaded, go into 'offline' mode and move them into 'Local Folders'; you will need to make new folders in Local Folders account for those emails.
However, it is possible that you may not get access as that contract has ended. There is no obligation for the old host company to keep your emails if you do not have an account with them. In which case those emails will be lost.
After creating new imap mail account, if you get access do as advised to get emails into Local Folders, once emails are in Local folders you can remove/delete the imap mail account. If it does not work, you can delete the imap mail account.

Dreamweaver: how to view file without checking it out?

I have started using the Check-In/Check-Out feature of
Dreamweaver 2004. Sometimes I want to view a .cfm file without
checking it out. I thought the "Get" command might let me do this,
but the file contents don't display. So how do I view the contents

Sorry you have failed your interview question. Good thing you remembered it, thought about it, and ask a question about it. The solution is actually very straightforward.
Create a table to store the state of your progress. Before each step read the table to find out where left off, then skip each completed step. After each step write to the table which step you have completed. A step can be anything, a task, a component,
a row, an import file, an export file. You don't have to use a table, it could also be a file, just something you can read and write, and does not disappear when your package stops.
If you find this difficult to comprehend, think of a checklist of things you do everyday and work from there.

Hi Sunita,
the option is named "Edit (exclusive)" when you do a checkout using the context menu.
If you let the wizard tell you when you have to check out there is a checkbox giving you the alternative to do an exclusive checkout.
Please keep in mind that this is not good practice in Java. But it can help you avoiding merging in WD as there is no tool support yet. So use it with care.
