How to kill your hardrives with RAID - fast and easy

Here is the story:
I created a RAID 1 array with two maxtor diamondmax 10 250Gig 16 Mo cache
on sata 3 and 4 of my new K8N Neo2.
First problem was a systematic crash during windows install (blue screen with error in ntfs.sys). I sorted that out by removing the second drive (so I'm still in RAID1 mode but with only one disk).
Then windows installs smoothly in less than 10 minutes.
Second problem after the install: windows is really slooow to boot . I reconnected
the second drive in the array... no change.
At that point I thought: why not try with sata 1 and 2? So I shutdown, move the
sata cables, power on, goes into the bios, disable raid on sata 3 and 4, enable it on sata 1 and 2, save settings.
The box resets and I'm ready to press F10 to enter into the raid bios and define a
new array... but the two drives start to make a scary dying noise (a bit like the one of a 56k modem ...). I quickly power off. But at the restart: no more hardrive detected, even with raid disabled.

Oups, typo ... this is a 480W PSU.
I'm definitely giving up RAID1. I'll use the second drive to store ghost images.
Now it's time to test the stability of this box with some doom3 and HL2

What you describe would be possible by recording your video, then removing the audio from it and adding audio from GarageBand once the video is in iMovie (I presume here that you are using iMovie for your video production. Other applications may need different methods.)

Hello bttrcup and welcome to the Palm forums.
The easiest way that I know to setup everything for Yahoo on your new Pixi is to simply add your Yahoo email account to the email application. When you do, webOS' Synergy will also setup your calendar, contacts, and IM to sync with your Yahoo account.
This is how I've setup my Sprint Pre to sync with my Yahoo account. I have to admit that I don't use my Yahoo account so I only log into it when I'm troubleshooting something like this.

OnyX for Snow Leopard, How has been your experience with it?

What is OnyX? it's in the apple download page, I know it is a maintenance tool. However I have a few questions about it, it is safe to use? Can it cause system instability? (Cache out X does that), How has been your experience with it?
I'm asking this just to know if its worth installing in my Mac, because I don't want a tool that says it will increase system performance, and then when you run it, you'll end up with an under performing system giving you a lot of error logs that take hard drive space away.

All I'm asking for is for OnyX to ask for admin credentials when being launched from a non-admin account. Then, if the non-admin user can't enter the admin password, then the program would simply quit. If an administrator is there to authenticate, then the administrator can launch and use it to maintain and/or repair the non-admin account. That is 100% completely as secure as the situation now.
But the current situation is that it will simply refuse to open at all under a non-admin account, meaning that not even an administrator can use it to repair or maintain a non-admin account. That isn't any additional layer of security. It's quite the contrary; it's preventing an administrator from administering the computer.
Right now the only workaround to get OnyX to do any maintenance on a non-admin account is to temporarily promote that account to admin. I would argue that that is a heck of a lot less secure than simply allowing an administrator to launch the app from the non-admin account without having to promote the whole account to admin.
All admin utilities provided by Apple - Software Update, all the secure System Preferences, Disk Utility, Workgroup Manager, even sudo on the command line, all allow themselves to be run from any non admin account, by an administrator who can enter the admin password. All of this conforms to Apple's security guidelines. OnyX is broken if it doesn't follow those guidelines.
The OnyX developer seems to assume that everyone runs all the time in an admin account, and it will only clear browser caches in admin accounts. The fact that Apple warns against even browsing the web while logged in to an admin account shows that the OnyX developer has a thing or two to learn about security configuration.

How can I use LCCS with ActionScript 3 and Flash CS4?

Hi,
Using Stratus I was able to create an an application using Action Script 3 and Flash CS4. The sample code on the Adobe site was quite straight forward and easy to understand. I now want to switch over to LCCS but can't find anything any where on how to use Action Script 3 and Flash CS4 with LCCS. Do I need to know Flex to be able to use LCCS? Everything was quite simple and easy to understand with Stratus and makes complete sense. But LCCS is really confusing. Is there any sample code on how to establish a connection in Action Script 3 and then stream from a webcam to a client. There is nothing in the LCCS SDK that covers Flash and Action Script 3. Please help! I found the link below on some forum but it takes me nowhere.

Please refer to the SDK's sampleApps folder. There would be an app called FlashUserList. The app demonstrates how LCCS can be used with Flash CS4. Its a pretty basic app, but should help you moving.

Cisco ISE with EAP-FAST and PAC provisioning

I have search with no result on this topic. So, Does anyone have implemented Cisco ISE authentication with EAP-FAST and PAC provisioning ?
Since I have an issue with internal proxy, user required to authenticate with an internal proxy before granting access to the internet.

From what I understand a Internet proxy PAC and a eap-fast PAC are two different purposes.
Is that what you are trying to get clarification on.
Basically eap fast PAC provisioning is a PAC that s provisioned when a client authenticates successfully. The client provides this PAC for network authentication and not proxy authentication.

I just started with Java3D last week.
I assume you mean drawing polygons with outlines (wireframe) in one color and polygon face filling with another color. If so, I've got the same question! (I usually think of "contour" to refers to plotting surface intensity of independent data like temperature or elevation, but I don't think you mean this.)
The only solution I've found so far is to make two shapes with the same geometry.
Here's an example - an outlined and filled cube. I made it using a generalize class DualShape which is two shapes with the same geometry, but one filled and one as a line.
It works, although I can't say I understand the setPolygonOffset(), knowing what value to set. Without the command, the depthbuffer can't consistently decide which should be in front between the fills and lines so it looks bad.
I certainly think it would be nicer to do both internally, like:
pa.setPolygonMode(pa.POLYGON_LINE || pa.POLYGON_FILL);
And then have setFillColor and setLineColor for each.
I don't know why they don't allow this - maybe OpenGL can't do it like this so Java3D follows.
If anyone has any better ideas I'd like to hear about it.

I have now recently downloaded 10.0.2 which is confusing in itself, as, as far as I can ascertain that is actually version 11, but I'm not even sure about that.
Version 10.0.2 is the newest version and the successor to GarageBand '11 (version 6.0.5).
The '11 is referring to the iLife '11 suit of multimedia application - the older GarageBand was a part of this bundle.
Have a look at Edgar's graphical enhanced manuals, the explain very detailed how things work and why. You can buy them as iBooks from the iBook store or directly from the page:

There is no way to delete those records selectively from front end.
The best possible way is to delete the records from MRP_FORECAST_DATES tables from backend.

I would like to know why my Macbook Air 13 IN. (The one before the newest one that just came out) loses battery so fast and also charges so fast? Literally, it takes about 2 hours for my mac to charge, which I love, but then when it is not plugged into the charger, it's battery life runs out in about 2 hours as well. The only changes I have made to my copmuter in the last month (when this problem began) was upgrading to Mavericks and playing games. First, I updated to OSX Mavericks (huge mistake on my part for various reasons). Secondarily, I began to play graphic intensive games on my mac; games like Team Fortress 2 on Steam. I began playing them very often. Now, I know, you all probably think that this is obviouslty the reason the battery drains so fast, and I get that, but how come it charges really fast too? It hasn't always done this, however. It used to take hours to charge and it would therefore last MUCH longer. So I basically have two questions; How come my mac's battery drains AND CHARGES so fast, and what can I do to restore its charging abilities back to their original state?

Yes, even playing the graphics intense STEAM games would have no accounting for ultra-fast charge times.
Since your Mac is short-charging your Air and there is wrong information being fed that a full charge has occurred when it in fact hasnt (as per your indications) then:
perform a SMC reset, and if same, you'll need to make an appt. with your Apple store for full diagnostics of possible IO board or battery circuitry issue.
SMC reset
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
