How to know BPEL process is running

Hi,
I have BPEL process which is triggerred by FileAdapter. File Adapter polls for every 120seconds and if any file exists, it reads and BPEL process is initiated.
As BPEL proccess is big and sometimes it executes more than 120seconds and it depends on environment with less load process faster and more load its takes more time.
Due to this is there a way to know BPEL process is running before fetching new file or before starting actual BPEL process.
JDev: 11.1.1.6.0
Thanks,
Bhaskar

Can a singleton bpel will resolve your problem ?
At a time only one bpel process will be running there wont be any parallel instances for that bpel. In that way there wont be any second instance created until the first instance has done with its job.

    Hi Reddy,
You may find the run time of a PC using below steps.
    1. Call SE38 > /SSA/BWT > Execute  > Enter your PC , choose the date and time > Execute. Here Run-time of a PC is displayed. (or)
    2. Call RSPC1 > Enter your PC > Execute > Goto Log view > Right click on the start Variant > Displaying Messages > Note down the start time in Chain Tab. Now Right click on the last Process type of the PC > Displaying Messages > Note down the End time in Chain Tab. The Difference b/w start time and end time gives the Run-time of your PC.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to know if system is running in 40W low performance mode ?

I experienced the same problem than described in this topic: lower performance with charger than with battery!
(But I had set everything on Maximum Performance both in BIOS and in Windows's Power settings, so I think everything was done on software-side).
How to know if the system runs with lower performance (is it a 40W max mode? btw how did you know it is called "40W mode" ? I saw this figure nowhere else than in the mentioned-above topic) , except using a soft to do some benchmarking? Is there a place in BIOS (I didn't find!) ?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions:
if your computer is 64-bit, Leopard is running in the 64-bit mode. There are a few caveats about this but basically this is the case.

  • How to know what reports are running by looking at SSReproting Services to see what reports are running and also any clue of which application is using the reporting services?

How to know what reports are running by looking at SSReproting Services to see what reports are running and also any clue of which application is using the reporting services?

To see what reports are running, take a look at the execution log views that are available in the database.  Which views that are available are dependent on your version of SSRS.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159110.aspx
To see which application is using SSRS is a little more difficult.  You can turn HTTP logging on, which will give you an idea of where connections are coming from, so you can see IP addresses.  You can also look at the execution log view to see
user accounts.  So, depending on your environment and use of service accounts, this could be easy, or difficult.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630443.aspx
If all else fails you can look for clues in the SSRS logs.  Good luck...

  • How to know the process chain start time & end time?

    HI all .
how to know the process chain start time & end time at the table level as well as in RSPC level .
    regards,
    Srinivas

    Hello,
there is a program "/ssa/bwt" which will help you to know the exact time when the process was started and ended.
but the thing is you have to provide name of the process chain with the date at which it was executed.
another option is - you can double click on start process and on the last process of the chain.
here, you will get both the timings... Start time of the start process will be the start time of your PC and end time of the last process in the chain will be end time of your PC.
    Hope this will help you.

  • How to trigger BPEL process from DB insertion

    hi,
How to initiate BPEL process when a row insert, update or delete from table.my concern is to handle different casses for all above mentioned DML.

Check if there is are Out of the Box Events first, if there are use those. Otherwise use a custom database trigger on your custom table. Make sure that your call is not being inadvertenly called multiple times.

  • How does a BPEL process instance know it has been cancel()ed?

The javadoc for the IInstanceHandle cancel() method says, "When an activity is cancelled, the performer of the activity is notified of the cancellation and is given an opportunity to rollback or cancel any work that has already been done on behalf of the activity."
How exactly is the performer of the activity notified? Some kind of fault? Can one code a "cancel handler" in the BPEL process, or is the "rollback or cancel" all done behind the scenes?
Either a full answer or a pointer to the appropriate documentation (which I haven't yet been able to find) would be fine. Thanks.

The BPEL instance can be canceled via the BPEL API or via console (Abort instance) or due to an error. Then the BPEL Process Manager will detect this and cancel the running instance. The instance will do a transaction rollback, depending if it was a global (XA) or local transactions. This whole mechanism is executed behind the scenes.

  • How can I invoke BPEL process to run ?

    Hi,
after deploying the bpel process, which way I can invoke it without BPEl console ?
Can I invoke it from inside of my stored procedure
or creating (and invoking then) concurrent-process in OEBS ?

    Clemen,
    Thanks for the response.
Assuming that I created right xml(+ namespaces) in the stored procedure, put it into varchar2 parameter, and invoked BPEL WS. My question is how I can parse it?
Advise please. I'm a rookie on the XML.
I also tried to pass delimited string from plsql and then parse it using orcl:create-nodeset-from-delimited-string. Unfortunately I didn't figure out what I have to put as a QName parameter of that function. The documentation is insufficient. There is no any sample with that function. Another guy is also was struggling with it: create-nodeset-from-delimited-string
    Maybe you can clarify it?
    Thank you in advance.

  • How to design BPEL process where BPEL is called by PL/SQL code?

    Hi,
My BPEL process is called by a PL/SQL code given below.
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE testd(errbuf OUT VARCHAR2,

    IS
    soap_request VARCHAR2(20000);
    soap_respond VARCHAR2(10000);

    utl_http.write_text(http_req, soap_request);

    WHEN others THEN
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(sqlerrm);
    END;
The above procedure will be defined as concurrent program in Oracle EBS.This concurrent program will call the bpel process. My question is how should i design the bpel process so that bpel will know it is called by a concurrent program?
My BPEL is doing picking a file by FTP adapter and inserting data into a table.
Please throw some lights on this!!

    Option 1:
You have to design the service as a synchronous BPEL process
    1. Do a synchronous ftp get to read the file.
    2. Transform and write it into database table
    3. Reply results back to plsql
Disadvantage: Your BPEL process should complete from BPEL timeout happens.
    Option 2:
    1. Enqueue the message into AQ from the concurrent program
    2. From the BPEL monitor the AQ, start the process when the message arrives
    3. Do a synchronous ftp get to read the file.
    4. Transform and write it into database table
You cannot reply the results back to concurrent program.
    5. However, you could have another AQ to send the results back to concurrent program.
    6. Your concurrent program should listen to the resultsAQ to get the results back from BPEL.
Option 2 is a relliable design.

  • How to test BPEL Process that starts with a pick consuming a JMS message

    Hi,
We are using App Server v 10.1.3.3.0 and attempting to test a BPEL process which starts with a pick operation which is awaiting a JMS message on a specific queue.
We are using the Oracle JMS adapter to achieve this.
Is there any way in which this particular configuration can be easily tested using the BPEL testing framework? I have problems when I write the first initiate XML statement in my test case (stack trace below)
    <2011-01-27 10:23:47,028> <ERROR> <ProvisioningInterface.collaxa.cube.bpeltest> test run failed!

Unfortunately, there are no further details or any example I can see which simulate the kind of setup I have for my test.
    Any help much appreciated,
    Kind Regards,
    Colin.

    Hi,
I assume you mean the JMS example under the $OH BPEL examples area. Unfortunately, this only shows how to get a BPEL process kicked off by awaiting a JMS message - but there is no test code there! There are specific examples which show off the testing framework facilities but it appears that all the examples which use async type of interactions are in the middle of a process which is kicked off by a normal synchronous client interaction.
    Any further help much appreciated.
    Colin.

  • How to make bpel process secure?

Currently, I have a bpel process that can be accessed by anyone who knows its endpoint. I now need to add some basic authentication to ensure that only authenticated users access the BPEL process. I am thinking about using the http basic authentication but I don't know how to set it up in bpel. I don't know whether or not I can add the web.xml and sun-web.xml files to the bpel process to set up the security constraint like web applications. Does anyone know how to do it?

  • How to integrate BPEL process with OSB?

    HI,
I want to expose a web service from OSB and then after doing the initial validation of request, want the request xml to be forwarded to one of my BPEL process from where i would go for business processing with the request xml data.
Could any one help me here, what are the steps to be followed to integrate BPEL and OSB such that i'll be able to get rquest xml from OSB and reply back the final response to OSB .OSB will respond back to external world.
I have already exposed my webservice from OSB,but don't know how to forward this req xml to my BPEl process and finally fetch res from BPEL.

    Hi Arik,
Thanks for Helping me out here. But my problem is when i m communicationg with the BPEl via default wsdl generated by my BPEl process, Through SAO-Direct from OSB.It's looking for binding tag in that WSDl which is not present when i created the BPEl process.
    for eg.
In BPEl I have genarated a web service whose input and response is based on existing WSDL .This is the same WSDL which has been referred in OSB to intract with external world ( for upstream component who would be calling my web service).
The default WSDL geneareted by this BPEl does have portType, message, partenerLincType. But it doesnot have binding tag.
Now ,When i m trying to connect to this BPEl from OSB by creating new business service, while refering to this BPEl wsdl,It's looking for binding tag which is actually not present in default WSDL genarated by BPEL.
So considering my explained scenario, will you plz help me, where m i going wrong and in this case what are the correct steps i should follow to fullfill me requirement.
