How to know if my HP Pavilion Notebook can support Super Multi Blue-Ray drive?

Hi,
My HP laptop is:
HP Pavilion dv6-6093ex Entertainment Notebook PC support
LM610EA#A2N
How to know if my HP Pavilion Notebook can support Blue-Ray drive?.
I need to install a Super Multi Blue-Ray drive, with these capabilites::: read and write all types of disc formats in one convenient package: CD±R, DVD ±R ,  CD±RW, DVD±RW, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM and Blu-ray disc.
If it can support, then I must purchase HP Blue-ray device, or I can purchase any other brands, such as  LG 16x Internal Blu Ray/DVD/CD Burner Writer Drive + sata data & power cables .
First of all: my Optical drive is: LightScribe SuperMulti DVD±R/RW with Double Layer Support, and with the capabilities
hp CDDVDW TS-L633R
Media Type DVD Writer
Name hp CDDVDW TS-L633R
Availability Running/Full Power
Capabilities Random Access, Supports Writing, Supports Removable Media
Read capabilities CD-R, CD-RW, CD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW DL, DVD+R DL
Write capabilities CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL
Config Manager Error Code Device is working properly
Config Manager User Config FALSE
Drive E:
Media Loaded FALSE
SCSI Bus 0
SCSI Logical Unit 0
SCSI Port 0
SCSI Target Id 1
Status OK

Anyway, Could you please confirm for me this the Maximum resolution of my VGA is 1366 by 768 pixels, and cannot be extended.
That is correct.  It cannot be extended.  That is the limit for the built-in display.  Using an external display that is capable of higher resolution might help in that matter but then you loose the portability of the laptop.
I came across a free BluRay player just this week, it is found here. Leawo Blu-ray player: http://www.leawo.org/blu-ray-player/
It is the only free BluRay player I have found.
That is about all I can do to help.  The other possibility would be to get an external Bluray drive that can fulfill all your  expectations, give you lightscribe, and possibly a BluRay player included with the purchase.  It would be much less worrisome on your part and there would not be any modifications to the laptop.

I don't know if my HP laptop can  support a solid-state drive (SSD) (also known as a solid-state disk or not.

    Thanks a lot,
I really checked out the prices of SSD at amazon.com
However, I found that the prices were relatively expensive.
    120 GB
    $88.49
    250 GB
    $132.00
    500 GB
    $231.99

Do you think it is worth purchasing SSD? Did you find any noticeable benefits since 439.95 dollars would let me purchase another laptop

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC won't play blu-ray anymore

HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC used to play blu-ray discs. it had been a while since i have tried to play one and my computer has, no doubt, updated countless times since.
when i load a blu-ray disc the HP DVD player starts, and there is a black screen which says 'loading' and to press play. pressing play does not start the disc. it used to ask me if i wanted to check for updates, but selecting 'yes' never seemed to find any, and selecting 'no' just brought you back to the same place.
i have tried downloading the sp50935 DVD update to fix the problem, but when installing i get a message that says the 'install has been stopped due to an unsupported operating system' (to that effect), but i use Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1, the same that came installed when purchased.
    any ideas?

  • DVD/CD/Blu-Ray Drive on HP Pavilion DV6 not working....

    HP Pavilion DV6 with Blu-Ray
The DVD/CD/Blu-Ray drive suddenly stopped popping open or being recognized. I need to double check that there is nothing else I need to try to fix before having to buy a replacement part.
    I've already tried....
    1. reseting my computer back to factory settings (I know I had a virus or malware and then when it died I just decided to set the whole thing, but it didn't fix the dvd drive)
    2. Removed cd. (I had to remove the drive to get the cd out. It was a library cd so I thought that the security strip on it might have caused a problem.)
After these two things it still isn't working. Everything else is fine. I just want to make sure there is nothing else I need to try or check before buying a replacement part.

    Hi RavenMidnight,
For the DVD/CD/Blu-Ray drive no longer ejecting, there is not much troubleshooting that you can do to resolve the issue. I have included the document 'Opening a Stuck CD or DVD Drive Tray (Windows 7, Vista, XP)'. This document will show you two ways as a work around for opening the drive. When you do have the drive open, double check to make sure that there are no obstructions in the path of the tray.
If there are not obstructions, and the tray is still not functioning properly. I have included the document for 'Steps for Removing and Replacing the CD or DVD Drive'.
Please let me know if any of these steps have resolved the issue, thank you.

  • How do I fit a season of basketball games on a single blu-ray?

I am not that concerned with quality.  I have roughly 15 game videos that are about 1GB each in MP4 container (H264+AAC) 1280x720p30.  I had hoped to create a single disc that could be watched on a blu-ray player.
I don't see ability to modify video settings, bit-rate, etc in Premiere Elements 13.  Can this be done?  How about in Premiere Pro or other software?
    Thanks!

    Hi ATR,
So I am frustrated, but I want to see this through.
The resources comment made me think, so I have now doubled my RAM to 16GB and have seen where my system has briefly used as much as 12GB when opening my project.
I also uninstalled the software from my 256GB SSD, that had about 100GB free on it and reinstalled on a 1.5TB Hard Disk, just in case 100GB free wasn't enough or in case something was corrupted.  My project and all my files are on another 1.5TB Hard Disk in which there are over 350GB free.  I also created a new project and replaced all of my lower quality game videos with the original game video in case there was some kind of issue with the project or the source videos.
I reattempted to burn to 25GB BD-R and failed again at 98%, with same warning of not enough free space on disc.  I can see and play all of the video files that Elements just created from the hard drive and they work fine, and look very good, so I know the rendering completed.  They are just too large collectively to fit on the Blu-ray disc, in spite of using the Fit checkbox (see example in post 6 above).  I am convinced that Adobe Premiere Elements has a flawed estimation of free space on the BD-R and once the rendering is complete, that it will not fit on the disc.
I placed an order for 50GB BD-R DL discs today and will try again when they arrive.
This is a rather painful process as it takes ~8 hours to render the 12 hours of video each time I try something different.
    My System:
    Intel Core I7-2600K (8Core) 3.7GHz
    Gigabyte Motherboard
Gigabyte Nvidia GTX970 Windforce Graphics Card
    16GB 1600MHz DDR3 (4x4GB) Corsair Vengeance CAS9
Samsung 256GB 850PRO SSD with Windows 8.1 PRO
2x3TB Toshiba 7200RPM SATA Hard Drives, Each divided into two partitions.
LG 46" UHD 3840x2160x60 4:4:4 Display via HDMI 2.0 (Note that Adobe Premiere Elements handles scaling the interface to this resolution better than competitors)
I also have a MacBook Pro with a Core 2 Duo, that would take a lot longer, but I am tempted to install on that machine and give it a try to see if the MAC version works.  Note that I have my LG Blu-Ray burner in an external enclosure so I could attempt this.
    Thanks!

  • Pavilion dv7 - Can I add a second hard drive?

I have an HP Pavilion dv7 2173cl laptop. I've read that I can add a second internal hard drive. Is that correct? If so, what is the max size that it will take? Any special type that I should buy?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
This model allows to use 2 HDD's. Max capacity is 500 GB.
To install second drive you will need Hard Drive Caddy and Cable Connector. You may buy them here.
Here is service documentation for your model. On page 46 you may check where you may install secondary hard drive.

  • How do I program my remote to work for my satellite and Blu Ray player?

I recently purchased the 55 in LED Toshiba tv model number 42SL417U and I am having trouble finding the instructions on how to program it to work with my Sony Blu Ray player and Satellite. I went to product support and could not find a topic on how to program the remote.

Information on how to program your remote is available on page 79 of your user's guide.
The TV also has CEC functionality to control other CEC-enabled, HDMI-connected devices. More information about this is on page 19 of the user's guide.

  • My PC is Pavilion dv7. When I insert Blue Ray Disc, Blue Screen occures. I install PowereDVD 11.

No error occurs when using DVD and CD-ROM. I could use Blue Ray Disc (any format of Blue Ray Disc including commercial movie disc) three months before (May). I also asking cyberlink in case software problem. Should I attach system error log ?

Thank you for your info. I tryed to update driver to the latest one on device manager, but it says "this is the latest
version". So I delete the DVD/CD-ROM entry from Device Manager, and execute H/W cahnge auto-scan.
Then driver is automatically installed, but the version is still the same (v1.00).
    Mnufacturer:  standard CD-ROM drive, dated 2006/9/1,version 1.00
    Provider: Microsoft
Friendly Name: hp BD MLT UJ240
It seems I can't find correct driver. I can't find URL of manufacturer.
I also installed "sp50287" OS enhancement patch for HP pavilion dv7, which was suggested by HP support
engineer in Japan, but still blue screen occurs, after answering "Yes" at "Do you confirm the update info" menu
at HP Media Smart. I wonder it seems CODEC problem.????

  • How to know a priori if a file can be deleted?

My application requires that a collection of files be deleted. I currently loop through an array of File objects to be deleted, and invoke the delete() method on each object, i.e.
    for (int i=0; i<collection_of_files.length; i++) {
    returnval = collections_of_files.delete();
Problem: If one or more of the files has a "lock" on it, such as in Windows when some other process may be accessing the file, then those files can not be deleted, and returnval = false. How could I know before deleting ~any~ files in the collection, if some of the files can not be deleted? I would prefer not to actually delete any of the files in the collection, if one or more files can not be deleted because of a lock or any other reason. I have tried using SecurityManager to perform this a priori check on the deletability of a file, but no luck! Please advise.
    thanks,
    Ed

It tries to delete a temp file that doesn't exist, so
it doesn't delete anything in fact.Yes, the statement tempFile.delete() is not actually needed in the function isFileInUse. Other than that, the function isFileInUse does serve its purpose -- it determines true or false if there is a lock on a file. It does so by trying to rename the source file. If it can rename the source file, then we know there is no external lock on that file, and the function renames it back to what it was and returns false. This is a little tricky, but it works great. However, you would think there is a better way.
It was suggested also to try using the java.nio.filechannels.FileChannel class, which may be the proper way to go, but I haven't tried it yet. In particular, the method FileChannel.tryLock() returns "null if the lock could not be acquired because another program holds an overlapping lock."

  • How many event actions filters a cisco ips can support

we are running cisco ips 7.0(2) E4, and we are planning to tune some of the traffic everyday.......any idea how many event action filters can be applied to a sensor or is there is any maximum limit on the number of filters?

There is no limit to how many event action filters you can configure. I assume that you also know that event action filters is ordered list:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ips/7.0/configuration/guide/idm/idm_event_action_rules.html#wp2033432
Also, found this bug FYI: bugID: CSCtf78755:
    http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCtf78755
(When over 495 event action filters are configured via CLI, it's corrupting "rules0.xml" file)
    Hope that answers your question.

  • How can I watch my Blu-ray discs on the iPad?

    Hello guys,
I got some Blu-ray movies and I want to watch them on my iPad, could you tell me some good tools which can help me ?

It is going to be very difficult, if at all possible.
First, is getting the content accessible to the iPad. Have yet to see a BD player that can be connected to it.
Then, getting it to read, decode and display the content. The App Store shows absolutely no app that could do it. VLC can on a PC or Mac, but it requires additional software not on the iPad platform.
Lastly, where are you going to store the content? Each title is tens of GB's in size.
