  • How to know via PowerShell "did user install office on his computer with office 365 or not"

    Hello. Sorry for my english.
Subject: How to know via PowerShell "did user install office on his computer with office 365 or not"
I set to users Office 365 ProPlus license, that allows a user to install Office on up to five computers. I want to know, user use this opportunity or not, install office or not.
User can view his installation in the Office 365 portal:
But how I (like admin Office365) can view this information? Maybe via PowerShell?
    Thank you...

    Hi,
    Please see the
blog, I copied the part of here:
    ====
Viewing a list of Office 365 ProPlus installations
A user can see which computers she has installed Office on by signing in to the Office 365 Portal and going to the
    software page.
Only the signed in user can see this information.  Even if you are the administrator for your organization's Office 365 subscription, you can't see this information in any of your Office 365 administrative views. This also means you can't deactivate
a user's installation of Office on a specific computer. More on deactivation in a bit.
    ====
If you have further question about Office 365, I recommend you post the question to Office 365 forum:

  • How to get username from audible account if one is associated with the store account

So, I noticed, while de-authorizing a previous computer of an itunes store account, that an audible account was available for deauthorization as well.  I never authorized an audible account, and I'm not getting any help from apple about retaining a username if you never created one.  shady

Have you ever had an account with audible.com ? If not then you won't have one to deauthorise - the option to deauthorise one shows in the Advanced menu on my iTunes, even though I haven't currently got one authorised on it. If you have got an audible account and you have authorised it on that computer then Apple won't know what it is, as the account would be with audible.com, not Apple.

    Hi atulg9
Unfortunately I don't know from which part of the world you are posting, but in the UK you can always check a phone's authenticity by visiting:
    http://www.recipero.com/recipero/products/checkmend/home.ikml
This would tell you that a given IMEI should be a Nokia **** manufactured by Nokia corporation.
    Hope this might help you.

For small amounts of data, serializing and deserializing classes to isolated storage is faster.
Phones aren't always connected to the interweb.
Even if you are planning on using a central database on some server and connecting via services, you will almost always also need to store some data locally.
It's in your interest to ask questions in the appropriate forum for the technology you're using.
As it is, you're asking wpf developers a question about windows store app development.
    It's similar but different.
Which is probably why Magnus is unaware of local database and I probably omitted something else.
    It's not what we do.
I've written a grand total of one windows store apps.
Magnus probably has a similar level of experience.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to make backward compatibility of windows phone 8.1 app for windows phone 7?

I developed windows phone 8.1 app which is in windows phone store. Now, i want to make this app compatible for windows 7 also. Is it possible, if yes then how?

It may be that you are using non-backward compatible capabilities in your Windows Phone 8.1 app(s).
Developers that want to develop for different OS's usually have platforms with the different OS's on them for developing applications so they work on each platform.
I suppose you developed for Windows phone 8.1 rather than Windows phone 7. Therefore your app runs on a different framework than a Windows phone 7 has as well as probably newer hardware with greater capabilities.
So you will probably need to purchase an older phone that came with Windows phone 7 in order to develop for. I couldn't find documentation like the last link below (App capabilities and hardware requirements for Windows Phone 8) for Windows phone 7
from Microsoft but maybe you can.
Windows Phone OS 7.1 - Developing a Windows Phone Application from Start to Finish
    Types of Applications
The Windows Phone application platform provides two frameworks for developing applications:
    Silverlight
The Silverlight framework supports event-driven, XAML-based application development.
    XNA
The XNA Framework supports loop-based games.
Silverlight and XNA can also be combined in a single application.
The following table lists some of the criteria that you can use to determine whether you should use Silverlight or the XNA Framework for your Windows Phone application. With Windows Phone OS 7.1, you can combine Silverlight and XNA into one application.
For more information about Silverlight and XNA, see
The Silverlight and XNA Frameworks for Windows Phone. For more information about the application platform, see
Application Platform Overview for Windows Phone.
What's New in Windows Phone 8.1
Platform convergence with Windows Store apps
Windows Phone 8.1 introduces an important change in the Windows Phone developer ecosystem. In this release, Windows Phone converges with the Windows Store apps platform into a single developer platform that runs the same types of apps—Windows Runtime apps.
Platform convergence began in Windows Phone 8, which supports a small subset of Windows Runtime APIs, but which differs from Windows in many core areas. In Windows Phone 8.1, there’s so much more in common—a much larger API set, a similar app model
and life cycle, a shared toolset, a common UI framework—Windows Phone and Windows Store app developer platforms truly have become one, single development platform.
Of course there are still some small differences in behavior and supported features between Windows Phone and Windows Store apps. Some of these are the result of timing of the different product cycles, and they may not appear in future releases. Some differences
are the result of the different natures of phones and computers, their sizes, and the way people use them. We encourage developers to think in terms of Windows app development—developing for a single Windows Runtime, but targeting two different platforms on
    phones and computers.

  • How to stream audio in Windows Phone 8.1?

I have a Windows Phone Silverlight 8.0 app I want to update to 8.1 using WinRT. It streams audio in the background.  In Silverlight, I used
BackgroundAudioPlayer to set the Track to a Uri.  It's not clear how to do this with
MediaPlayer in WinRT.  I don't think I can just use a Uri.  Instead, I wonder if I have to use
    MediaPlayer.SetStreamSource(IRandomAccessStream
stream).  If so, I don't know how to get an IRandomAccessStream from a
Uri.  I want to stream from a Uri on the internet over HTTP, not from a local file. Any help?

Refer following links to stream audio in background in Windows Phone 8.1 Runtime app.
    https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/Background-Audio-in-WinRT-344bcf4d
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/johnkenn/archive/2013/12/31/supporting-background-audio-in-your-windows-8-1-app.aspx
Thank you for thinking about my problem. I may be mistaken, but I think the above links refer to Windows 8 apps, not Windows
Phone 8.1 apps. I'm under the impression that background audio is done differently in Windows Phone 8.1 from Windows 8. The
Background Audio Overview for Windows Phone Store apps explains more.
It's a good overview, but does not explain how to play audio from a stream rather than a file.  That's what I'm stuck on.

  • How to know whether database(oracle) is up and running at OS level

how to know whether database(oracle) is up and running at OS level...!!!

depends on the O/S you are using, Unix or Windows? I would use Korn shell script to monitor the Oracle background process and scripts to check of Oracle is accepting connections.
This UNIX command will show the number of processes for your instance:
    ps -ef|grep $ORACLE_SID|grep -v grep|grep -v ora_|wc u2013l
In Windows I would look into services.msc

  • How to know whether a vacation rule is set for a user

    Hi,
How to know whether a vacation rule is set for a user or not in the BPM process. Can anyone help me in this.
    Thanks,

In Linux a user has to have read permission on a file to even see that it exists. As a result, if a user (or a group to which they belong) doesn't have read access to the file File.exists() will return false. Windows which doesn't have as tightly controlled access to files will admit that a file exists whether it can be read or not.
    PS.
This is proof that I should never answer a question off the top of my head when I haven't had my red bull yet. This is wrong. You will be able to see it if you have read and execute on the directory.

  • How to know whether my system is J2EE compliant or not?

How to know whether my system is J2EE compliant or not?
    Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
    (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>java -version
    java version "1.6.0_16"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_16-b01)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.2-b01, mixed mode, sharing)Is my box J2EE compliant?

Trust me - I've been developing on an XP box for years and Java 1.6 for a good amount of time. This has been using Tomcat, JBoss, and Glassfish (and I try hard to forget about Oracle OC4J). These are application servers that implement part (Tomcat) or all (the rest) of the J2EE specification.
Having said that, you'll want at least 2GB of RAM and a hundred or so megabytes of disk space. Less RAM will work but slowly. A reasonable processor (I'd say at least 1.5GHz or above) will speed development.

  • How to sync a Lumia Windows Phone with Outlook

    Hi
Like all I see I also bought a windows 800 on the basis that all our team of 50 would change from Iphones to windows so we could sync with our outlook which is not server based but we each run our own outlook folders but no there is no outlook sync.   Yes you can copy to the live account and then use that as your main calendar but who wants to do that?
I asked and was told specifically that it would sync with outlook so the Carephone Warehouse guy either lied or did not know his stuff ( I know what my guess is!)    Amazingly my wife's samsung galaxy using Android does sync.
If you can tell me how I can synchronise my windows phone with my Outlook without exporting and importing CSV and ICS files then please do so.
Moderators note: changed thread title to reflect subject. Moved from another thread.

    Hi wobblybob,
Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting!
When you are told you can sync a Windows Phone with Outlook that would be correct. What you are really asking is 'can I connect my Lumia to the PC with the USB cable and sync with Outlook offline'. The answer to that would be no.
How you sync with Outlook can be answered in a short and long version. The long and extensive version can be found here. The short version is:
For Outlook 2003 and 2007 install the Outlook Hotmail connector and setup an account for your  LiveID, for Outlook 2010 just setup the account and it will prompt you to install the connector. A step by step guide can be found here.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on!

  • How to know whether balance carry forward has happened or not

How to know , whether balance carry forward has happened or not for a perticular GL account or for the company code as a whole?

If the account is a balance sheet account, you can merely look at the beginning balance for the same balance sheet account for the beginning of the next fiscal year FS10N. The beginning balance will equal the previous year's ending balance. Since this does not happen automatically, you will know that carry forward has not been done if a balance sheet account has no beginning balance in the following fiscal year.
If you are talking about For P&L GL accounts, you can check the acvitity in the retained earnings accounts to make sure that they have been updated for the P&L activity. You can identify the retained earnings account by looking at the master data for the account in the section "P&L statmt acct type" and pulling up the menu to see the actual retained earnings account number.
You can perform carry foward (GVTR) as many times as you want but normally once it has been ran, any postings to a  previous fiscal year are automatically carried forward to the current year after that initial run.

  • How to distribute my windows phone 8 app and windows store app without publishing in the store

How to distribute my windows phone 8 app and windows store app without publishing in the store
any business license or enterprise license needed..
I am a windows developer talking behalf of my company i.e  wipro
I have a question about the enterprise license   and  we are building an app for the limited users i.e our company employees and users and we do not want to publish in the store
    How to release the app?
    what are licenses etc needed?

    Hi,
for developers distributing apps without Publishing in the Store, the sideloding Enterprise key license through volume licensing is required.
Starting May 1, 2014, customers who want to enable sideloading will be able to purchase an Enterprise Sideloading key for $100 through the Open License program.
An unlimited number of devices can be enabled for sideloading using this key.
