How to label servers in the connect to server window

In the connect to server window... is there a way to label the servers other then the I.P.s?  I have numerious computers I connect with and it get's a little hard knowing what is what.  I know about the history drop down that gives the computer name, I was wondering about the main window.

A file is a set of data - is your problem any different from saving data from an array or String variable or other data?

    I see the data is stored as files in ~/Library/Favorites, but I'm not seeing where the Connect to Server window gets its sort order.

    Guillaume is totally correct.  The display order of enterprise templates is by the date they were created.  I have tested this on a Project Server 2013 system that has the latest Cumulative Updates applied.  The problem is that in the
    Microsoft Project 2013 desktop application, Microsoft has ditched the Templates dialog we used to see and replaced it with a page in the Backstage.  I am afraid that in doing so, they have eliminated the sorting capabilities that we found in earlier versions.
    Out of curiosity, I have sent an e-mail to my MPV contacts within the Microsoft Project Server development team at Microsoft, asking if there is any intention of changing this functionality to allow for sorting by template name.  If I get an answer,
    I will post it in this user forum.
    Your question is a good one, and the sorting problem (or lack of sorting) can be a real problem in any organization that has a sizable number of enterprise templates.  Hope this additional bit helps.

  • Browsing in the Connect to Server window

    We have 3 macs, 2 G4s & a G5.
    If I select "Browse" in the Connect to Server window on the G5 I can see our setion of the LAN. Call it ya-da-ya-da-da-net.
    However the same - select "Browse" in the Connect to Server window on the G4s does not show "ya-da-ya-da-da-net".
    What causes this & how do (can?) I get all 3 to be the same?

    Thanks for the helpful "dot"--but before you start wiping the disk--what will the re-install system be? Roll back to 10.3.9 or re-load Tiger? Panther would be the immediate solution--if I didn't have some third party app that seems a bit happier in Tiger I'd probably go back to Panther. And since I just paid for it, etc.
    If you saw the post where I listed what I did--rolling back to 4.6 & 4.8 didn't help me, although apparently it for others. And not sure if our problem is exactly the same--but perhaps the root is--which is some inherent change in the OS in terms of filesharing. There are some other posts and helpers who had some tips for trying to connect to server with desktop icon that might be handled differently, so you might find an answer by using the search bar over to the right, Since that kind of issue wasn't my problem I didn't follow--maybe somebody else can help you there.
    Also if you plan to re-install Tiger the common agreed method is to download it direct from the Apple web site and use the computer Installer--not using Software update to install the system--and some found that re-iinstalling 10.4.9 right over what you have was the solution for them. Didn't work for me. If you have an External HD you can try thiings out & boot from it to see if it works. Welcome to Tigerland.

    Tthank you for your reply.  After much frustration,I shut the I-Pad completely down, pushing both the side button and top button simultaneously until only the apple logo appeared on the screen.  Miraculously , the e-mail appeared and everything is now back to normal.
    For future reference, what under "general" do you do to get "reset"?  I'm not tech-savvy as I'm sure this statement indicates.

    How do you get to the "Multiple Item Information" window so I can click "Part of a compilation"?  When I transfer a CD to iTunes, and the CD has ten tracks, it loads as ten different albums.  Also, once this happens, do I have to delete the album and start over or is there a way to merge the albums in iTunes?  Using iTunes 10.04.08.

    And you've made me remember that using the compilation flag may only work in iTunes if you go into the Songs view, then use View > Column Browser > Show Column Browser and then View > Column Browser > Group Compilations to make sure this line is ticked.
    It is also best if View > Column Browser > Use Album Artists is also ticked.

    I'm afraid that AFAIK you've gone through the card. You could try Support, though I don't know how helpful they are likely to be.
    To contact  iCloud Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:

    You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
    If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee.

    Ensure you have a active interenet connection, once thats verified and the problem still exists. Go into settings>Mail,Contacts,Calender click on the account in question, delete it, then re-add it.

    You referenced the correct article for troubleshooting your issue with your email.  What happens when you follow these steps?
    Try these basic troubleshooting steps first
    Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage (try any webpage). If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you are unable to load a webpage, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Try to use an alternate Internet connection if available:
    Try a different Wi-Fi connection
    If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.

    I had a similiar problem, with my multiple devices.  I open iTunes and when all devices were connected I went to the info section on each device.  Under info I checked the sync calandars. Under that I click all calanders. I then did the apply in low right. I then did the sync function and it fixed it for me.  You have to do this for each device.
    I also checked the device (ipad,Iphone) themselves and change the calander selection to NO Catagory.  Hope this helps.

I've deleted all of my mail and I am still getting this 'the connection to server has failed' when i go into the mail app, and when i try to send an email it doesnt allow me either.
