How to launch a new terminal window from the current Finder folder?

Hello. I would like to have something like "DOS prompt here" menu item on the Finder popup menu, so that when I click it a new Terminal window is open and set to the respective directory.
Any ideas?

I don't know of a way to do that... You might be able to use FruitMenu

and create a script to launch for the contextual menu that does what you want.
I just open Terminal (by clicking the icon on the Dock), type "cd " and drag the icon of the folder I want to go to to the terminal window (and Return). It's a few steps but not that bad.

New terminal windows from inside a terminal window?

So, I have some work to do that will require me to make multiple ssh connections to the same host. Likewise with scp, sometimes.
My thought is to use ssh-agent to enter my password once, and subsequent connections to the host will be automatic.
However, in order to do that, I need to be able to cleanly tell Terminal to spawn new windows as children of the current window. Working through /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app/etc. works, but doesn't strike me as very elegant.
Did Apple incorporate an "xterm"-like shell command that spawns a child window from whatever terminal window you happen to be in?

How to open a new browser window from a JSP page?

Hi,
I am picking up records from the database and displaying each record in a seperate text area field using the JSP code. I should be able to display the content ( available in the text area) in a seperate window if the user clicks on one icon.
Is it possible to open a new browser window using JSP? If yes, how can I write information on the new browser window?

Hi, I'm having an enourmous trouble with organizing my "recent" (rather ALL GOD **** WINDOWS!!!) documents in apps that support App Exposé. When I do the gesture with 4 fingers moving simoultanously down, it shows the currently opened window along with ALL THE WINDOWS I'VE EVER OPENED IN MY LIFE!!!!!!! What can I do to delete the at least the "windows" that are not even on my mac anymore????? APPLE THINGS ARE SUPPOSED TO JUST WORK! AND ALL I GET IS THEY CRASH, CRASH, CRASH!!!!! DAAAMN THIS! Thank you very much for your concern! But I do actually know what the App Exposé is. But is it really supposed to show all the windows I've opened within the App in my whole life? When I do the gesture, it shows the opened windows, and beneath them is list of all the documents and windows I've ever opened. Most of them do not even exist anymore. I'd really like them to disappear. And by the way, thanks a lot for teaching me the Command + Tab movement, which brings me up to an another problem; how do I exactly get to know these kinds of gestures? Like… I know the Mission Control, the App Exposé and now I know the App Switcher. But how do I do other ones? I entered a URL in the 'URL Target' field for the Navigation Bar Entry. As expected when the I clicked on the link in the Navigation Bar my browser refreshed with the target URL.
I want to be able to actually open a new window rather than refresh my current window. The help text says, and I quote ...
"In the link generated for this icon include the following onClick javascript. Use of the onclick javascript could popup a help page in a new window (see example 1).
Example 1:

Set the Icon Target attribute to # if you are using OnClick JavaScript. Set the Image Alt Text attribute to the text the user will see to click on."
So I created similar Javascript as to the example and placed in the 'OnClick Javascript' field, and placed a '#' in the 'URL Target' field.
When I run it doesn't work, the '#' is picked up and the Javascript is ignored. Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I had the same problem. I finally ended up just using the standard popupURL javascript. In the URL Target I have:
javascript:popupURL('<link>')
This opens a new window but since it is for popups the menus are missing. You may want to write your own javascript function to open the new window with your own settings.
Search the forums for popupURL for more ideas.

you’d need to boot into Recovery mode by holding down ⌘R as your MacBook Pro starts up. When the OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. Run Disk Utility to completely erase your internal disk; after it’s been erased, exit Disk Utility and select Shut Down from the Apple menu. When you restart it, OS X Internet Recovery will redownload your MacBook Pro’s original version of OS X from Apple’s servers, and then install it. When you run it, the welcome video will play; reïnitialize it to your liking, associating it with your preferred Apple ID. When you log in, run Software Update to get it up to date in its installed version of OS X.

after i upgraded to ff 14, i found that the "open new tab" button moved to the left of the tabs. how do i move the button back to the right of tabs?
i've tried the customize, but it won't stay on the right when i hit done.

Try to click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window if you can't move the New Tab button to its default position immediately to the right of the last tab.

How do I delete recently closed windows from the history tab

when closing the browser, even after private viewing, the site shows in the recently closed windows section of the history button on the toolbar. how can I delete this section. I have options set in the tool section but still doesn't work. helppppppppppppppppppp!

Make sure to close all tabs in a window before closing that window.
Set the pref browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab to false on the about:config page to prevent closing the last tab from closing the browser and make a close button appear if only one tab is open.

How to save a new jpg image from the clipboard

It seems like it should be simple but I can't find anywhere this has been documented.
I have an image on the clipboard and simply want to save it as a new image.
I've been using Image Events and I can get a file saved but it's always empty.
Can someone please post some sample code to do this?

I'm sure there's a more elegant way to script this, but here is a script I just wrote real quick that should at least give you a start to an alternate way of dealing with clipboard data without having to launch Preview...

If your phone can be unlocked by the provider, your company or the owner of the phone has to contact the provider and give them all the details about your contract, serial, etc.
If unlocking is supported by the provider, to which the phone is locked to, the provider will pass on the info to Apple. This info will be sent to the iTunes database, and after a certain time, iTunes will inform you, that your phone has been unlocked.

Regarding subtraction of 10 days from the current date

Need to know how I can get 10 days subtracted from the current date before the report is excuted. This needs to appear in the selection screen before the report is excuted.
The select option contains two fields the first field is the date which is 10 days subtracted from the current date and the next field is the current date.

HTML doesn't really let you do this on the server side; the client is in charge
of creating new windows, not the server.
If you know that clicking a certain link/button, etc. will always raise a new window,
then you should use Javascript or "targetFrame" accordingly.
If the decision will only be made on the server side, then you could reload the current
window, only this time use an "onLoad" on the <body> to raise a window.
