How to lighten the front portion of a seashell?

i would like to lighten the front portion of a seashell. how would i do this/ what selection tool etc.  Attached is a photo of a seashell floating on some clouds. Thanks for your help!

I would suggest the dodge & burn tools which are traditional dark room techniques. Use the dodge tool on the lighter parts and the burn tool on the darker parts.

  • How to resize the front panel to fit different resolutions

    I m using LabVIEW 8.2 on Windows XP SP2
    I've tried both “maintain proportions of window for different monitor resolutions” and “scale all objects on front panel as the window resizes” selected but just messed up everything when i switched to another different resolution. It's annoying since I'm using 22 inch monitor to do the coding but the user supposed to run it on laptop or wince.
    Any solutions to it?
    Thx in advance.

    Thank you all. Following is the reply from NI support.  I think the best way is to edit vi in low resolution.
    One of the easiest ways to tackle varying screen resolutions is to design
    the front panel to the lowest resolution that you expect it to run on. It
    should then look acceptable on any screen larger than that.
    However, you can get a bit more tricky by programmatically determining the
    computer's screen resolution and then dynamically changing the size of your
    front panel objects. Use an Application Property Node and select
    Display>>All Monitors to return the current screen size. Then, according to
    the screen size, you can size the control or indicator programmatically
    using the Size property node for your front panel objects.
    Ultimately, these issues have often been a result of font size issues.
    Specifically, this can be a problem when two machines have different
    desktop theme/font settings. If your objects are coming out in different
    sizes on different computers, you can setup up LabVIEW to use the same font
    on different systems by modifying the .INI file.
    The easiest way is to do this: use Tools->Options->Fonts from the LabVIEW
    GUI. You can then set the system fonts to anything you want. After you
    have done this on one machine, open your INI file (it is in the same
    directory as the LabVIEW executable) with any text editor and copy the
    corresponding entries to another file. Add these entries to the INI files
    on any machines you want to lock to font. You will probably run into
    issues if you are supporting different platforms (Windows and Mac or Mac
    and Linux, for example), since the fonts you want may not be available on
    both platforms. There are Windows fonts available for both Mac and Linux
    platforms, so this can be somewhat ameliorated.
    This is all I can think of, but that's not to say these are the only
    solutions. You might check the Discussion Forums, as many of our LabVIEW
    Champions have tackled similar issues and offer their expertise as well.

  • How to show the front panel when launching VI with Call by reference node??

    Hello!
    I just wonder how I make the front panel visible during execution when I launch the VI with CALL BY REFERENCE NODE.

    Could u also show me how to change different properties (window size ..) of the front panel??? (launched with CALL BY REFERENCE NODE)

    In VI Properties>>Window Apperance>>Customize you can check "Show front panel when called". This will open the front panel on each call. It doesn't matter how the call was initiated.
    You can set a lot of Front panel properties during runtime. Place a Property Node in the block diagram. Change the class from App to VI. Under properties select Front Panel window>>Panel bounds to set the position and size of the front panel.

    This is the Official Nokia discussion sites as you might already know. What you might don't know yet is that these sites are mainly a user to user forum where Nokia users can share their knowledge and help each others with issues.
    There are some emplyees that are around here now and then. They are in green and are here on their spare time. You might get an answer, or you might not. - As I wrote, this is mainly an user to user forum.
    Now, for direct contact with Nokia, click the "contact us" button on the top right of this page. You will probably be able to contact them bay either mail or call.
    On these boards, you will have to wait untill someone decides to reply your thread.

  • How secure is the front facing camera?

    Is there a way to tell if the front facing camera is on? Since iOS supports multi-tasking. From the security side, is it safe to assume the front camera is always on, unless a tape is covering it?
    thanks

    When not using the Camera app, it is not on or running in the background. The Camera app is quit when leaving the app just as it was quit with leaving the app prior to iOS4. Just because an app is in the fast app switching and recently used apps bar or dock does not mean the app is running in the background. Very few apps will run in the background when leaving the app such as a music streaming app and a GPS navigation app. Some 3rd party apps will be placed in a suspended state when leaving the app such as with a game. An app in a suspended state is open but not running in the background - it is suspended or frozen not using any processor cycles or battery. Nothing has changed with the Camera app in this regard with iOS4.

  • How to hit the front page of the iTunes store?

    What system does Apple use to place new podcasts at the front page of the iTunes store? There are only a handful to be seen, some of them are there even twice. Most of them are quite old (from December 2008). Some of them have user comments, some not. I cannot see any system behind it.

    At the end of the day, the issue here is only software. The hardware is already in place.
    You can't easily add hardware to something afterwards without a complete redesign
    It reminds me of the old Nokia 6630. It supported video calling but had no front camera.
    You either had to use the back camera or buy a separate stand to sit the phone in that had a forward facing camera on

  • How to format the "Selected" portion of a button

    I created a simple menu screen with 4 chapter buttons (a jpeg for each chapter) and I'm trying to format each one so that it is highlighted when selected. Problem is, the highlighted area is significantly larger than the jpeg it is supposed to cover and actually bleeds onto its neighboring buttons. When I try to size it down, the jpeg shrinks along with it! Also, there's a strange little line that appears at the bottom of each jpeg when selected (it looks like a thin button, but there is no way to delete it or format it either).
    I tried going through the DVDSP manual & index but nothing seems applicable.
    Is there a way to format the "highlight" on the menu button/jpeg so that it only covers the jpeg?
    Thanks for any assistance!

    The button areas will always be rectangular so there is a chance of overlap. One of the ways for the most control is to use an overlay and keep in mind how close the buttons will be so they do not overlap. For instance the highligh can be an arrow, or an arrow and text.

  • How to read the decimal portion of a double number? (using scanner method)

    hello Java pros....
    I need to read the integer and decimal part of a double number, one independently of the other.
    I must be able to assign the integer part to a variable, and the decimal part to a different variable.
    Is there a method that does what I need directly after reading the initial value (double) ?
    or, should I include the condition to read the decimal point somehow?
    the initial value will be input from the console using a scanner method.
    lets say the number I have is 123.345
    I must be able to separate 123 from 345 and use them independently.
    thank you all!!
    al

    The scanner should read in the user input as a string, so you have "123.456". Do something like the following:
    String   doubleNumber             = "123.456";
    String[] numberParts              = doubleNumber.split("\\.");
    int       wholeNumberPortion       = Integer.parseInt(numberParts[0]);
    int       fractionalPortion        = Integer.parseInt(numberParts[1]);
    System.out.println(wholeNumberPortion  + "." +  fractionalPortion);
