How to limit operator swapping the discrete job seqence in shopfloor

Our planner prioritize and sequence the jobs released to the shopfloor and posted to dispatch board. The current issue is, operator can easily swap the sequence in the dispatch board and we are unable to achieve the priority & sequence set by planner.
Can some one help me out with this issue, so that even operator swap in dispatch board the system should not allow them to perform WIP transaction and mandate them to follow the sequence.
Hoping for your help.
Thanks,

This is a classic example of relying on computers when common sense and business policy/procedures should take over.
There are many ways to achieve this
1) Write a d/b trigger that stops the move transaction record being committed if prior transactions are not done.
2) Personalize the move txn screen to show only appropriate jobs in the LOV for the job # field.
But the sensible thing to do is instruct floor personnel that they should pick up jobs from a queue displayed on the floor board. And if they don't, then slap their wrists or more.
Hope that the first 2 suggestions don't help,

We are not seeing any data in pendingtransaction since all are cleared during period end closing
Could you suggest how to overcomr this issue
Client want to complete the job
    Thanks and advance

Pl clarify in more details -
The Discrete jobs are closed even teh job are completed, still move transactions are balance. - when u say the jobs are completed how then the move transactions are pending.? ..........................if its physical and not logical , then please open the jobs increase the qty and complete the pending move transactions. If you have closed the jobs and the period is still not closed , then you can proceed opening the jobs to complete the unfinished transactions.
Pl revert so that we can proceed further with the solution.

  • Change Department after the Discrete Job got Completed

    Hi All,
Please let me know how to change the Department (in Operations) even after the Discrete Job got completed.
This is in Oracle Applications (11.5.10),Oracle Work in Process module.
    Thanks a lot.

You will have to undo completion, then undo every operation step (including resource transactions), modify the resource requirements to 0, add new operations and resource requirements and take the job thru' completion.

  • How shall I cancel /kill the Batch job that is to be scheduled daily in BI.

    Hello Experts,
We have a background batch  job used to trigger an event to execute the Porcess Chain that is to be scheduled daily in BI.
Now we don't required this functionality any more.So I try to cancel this job using transaction SM37 but unfortunately I am not able to cancel/ kill the job.
How shall I handle this issue.
    any suggestions please.
    Thanks & regards

    Hi
Select your process chain in the planning view
Right click on the start varaint and display all jobs,
It will show you the job scheduled, Finshed everything.
Select the job which is scheduled or released and Delete the job.
Else go to SM37 , enter the job, delete the scheduled job there.

  • How to limit footnotes to the column?

    Hi,
If I add footnotes to my two column page, they stretch across both columns. End notes on the other hand, do stay in the column, but the submission guidelines for my paper say that they want footnotes per column...
Is there a way of doing this in Pages? I know MS Word can...

It was also the only way I could think of, but it is so unsatisfactory.
Thanks for the answer, though. At least I know that either it's not possible, or that at least I'm not the only one that overlooked the totally obvious...

  • N95 how to limit what directory the Music Player s...

Hi. I installed some sofware in E drive (memory card) with some sound files (an IM program). The Music Player managed to find them and added them to the library. But those files are really nudge sounds and not musics.
So I really prefer it not searching directories other than the one I set to search. I would like to set it to only search "Music" folder if I could.
Could you help me out? Thanks.

If you hook up via USB you can change the file attribute to "Hidden", they then don't show in Music Player.  Refresh Music Player after changing them.
I haven't done it for a while so those instructions are a bit vague, if you search this site or some of the others you'll find more detail.
I had to do it after I installed "Step Counter" -- it's sounds showed up on Music player.

  • Unrelease Discrete Job become demand in MRP.

    Hi,
I facing a problem that need to know.
In PCBA environment which the discrete job only issue once because all the process is link together. However, in the Plastics environment which will break into two proseses which MOLDING as one and ASSEMBLY as another. There will be two different discrete job issue to this in order to complete a FG goods.
PFDX1081UA is the Assemblt FG for the plastics environment. The purchase part is L6HAYYYK0010. When I check the discrete job for the PFDX1081UA which entered MRP NET QTY as 30,000 and the status of the discrete job is unrelease.
The demand in the Purchase part L6HAYYYK0010 which treat this unrelease discrete job qty as demand.
    Is this correct?
How come the discrete job quantity for the PCBA will not show as demand in MRP?

Please expand your question ; I could not able to understand the issue well. From the subject of the questions"Unreleased Discrete Job become demand in MRP.", I can say that unreleased jobs will be considered for MRP Plan provided if it is MRP Planned item.
In this case, unreleased job will be considered as Supply and Components associated with the Job will be considered as Demand (If it is MRP Planned item).
This is correct logic by design.
    thanks,

  • Discrete job completion date on Sunday

    Hi All,
I wanted to know how the discrete jobs completion date can be on Sunday when the manufacturing calendar days showing the Sunday as non-working days.
When calculating the completion date for those discrete jobs, it actually considering the item/part lead times.
As for example, an item # ABC has processing lead time as 2 days and the discrete job start time is on 29-JAN-2015 18:34:00 and has the completion date as 01-FEB-2015 19:35:00 (Sunday).
let me know if there any issue with any setup or profile options.
    regards,
    Subhasish

    Hi,
We also had the same issue, the Workorder completion date and start date were including Non-working days.
"Why Discrete Jobs Form Is Not Computing Completion Date Based On Workday Calendar? [ID 1450120.1]"
The above metalink note might help you. All the resource on the assembly must be "Available 24 hrs" and make sure you have not inculded Saturdays and Sundays as a working day in you Manufacturing calendar (Assigned at org parameter).
    Thanks, Sameet

  • OSP Discrete Job

I released an OSP Discrete job and found requisitions not created after running requisition import.
Checked the routing found osp resource not defined for the routing.
After correcting this, I want to progress this release job.
I tried the following without any success.
    1) Changed the status from released to unreleased, then checked requisition import
    2) Re-schedule the discrete job and saved
    Thanks
    Dan

That set up looks good. How about the org item set up for the OSP item? Correct user item type? All the correct Purchasing attributes enabled?

  • Discrete Job Shortage Report

I am trying to find more information about the details of this report. We are running this report for all Shortages Based on QOH. I am not sure how the report is calculating the value for the Open Requirements column. I can't seem to match this value up with what I see for open demand (from Inventory's Supply/Demand screen or Planner Workbench view) or the amount of gross requirements I am seeing on the Supply Chain Planning Detail Report.
Does anyone know how the value is calculated or know of a good source of more detailed information on Oracle's canned reports?
    Thanks,
    Amy Bauman

Amy - Sometimes the Users Guide will give you the details you need. The definitive source would be the report itself. The rdf for the Discrete Job Shortage Report is WIPDJORQ.rdf and can be found in the WIP directory on your server. If you're using Oracle Reports, you (or your DBA or Developer) can download the file, and open it in the Report Builder - from there it's just a matter of locating your field in the layout, looking at the properties to find the source, and then finding how the source is calculated in the Data Model.
I know, it sounds cumbersome, but it's not too bad if you get someone in your company who is used to working with reports to help.

  • How to limit the number of parallel instances of a given event-based job?

    Hi,
    DB version : 11.2.0.3
I'm using an event-based job with parallel_instances attribute set to true.
It works perfectly fine, messages are enqueued then dequeued and processed simultaneously by separate instances of the same job.
Now, I'd like to limit the number of parallel instances of this job running at the same time, say to an arbitrary number n.
What would be the best way to do that?
Maybe using a notification callback is a better option in this case?
Thanks in advance for any input.

  • How to take the cron job log in HP UX?

    Hi,
How to take the cron job log in HP UX
I need to run a backup and other stuff everyday. How do I check and start cron service under HP-UX UNIX operating system? How do I write cron jobs?
    A. Cron service is required to run jobs and tasks such as backup.
You must login as the root to run following commands. Each user that is using the cron service must have a cron configuration file in the /var/spool/cron/crontab directory. Also users are permitted if their name appeared in /var/adm/cron/cron.allow file
Task: Find out if cron is running under HP-UX
Type the following command at a shell prompt
    # ps -ef | grep cron
    Open /etc/rc.config.d/cron file
    vi /etc/rc.config.d/cron
Set control variable to 1 to enable cron: CRON=1
Set control variable to 0 to disable: CRON=0
Close and save the file. To start or stop cron you can type the following command:
    # /sbin/init.d/cron start <-- start cron
    # /sbin/init.d/cron stop <-- stop cron
    Task: HP-UX Start cron service
If cron is not running, simply type:
    # cron
Task: Edit / create cron jobs
Type the following command to submit a cron job:
    # crontab -e
    List your cron file:
    # crontab -l
    Backup all your cron jobs:
    # crontab -l > ~/backup.cron.jobs
    Remove ALL cron job:
    # crontab -r
    Task: Crontab file format
Cron file format is as follows:
MIN HOUR DATE MONTH DAY /PATH/TO/COMMAND
    0-59 0-23 1-31 1-12 0-6 /root/scripts/backup2tape.shEasy to remember crontab file format:
    * * * * * command to be executed
    | | | | |
    | | | | ----- Day of week (0 - 7) (Sunday=0 or 7)
    | | | ------- Month (1 - 12)
    | | --------- Day of month (1 - 31)
    | ----------- Hour (0 - 23)
    ------------- Minute (0 - 59)To run /root/script/backup at 23:00, every day, enter:
    # crontab -e
    Append following
    0 23 * * * /root/script/backupRun foo job very weekday (MON-Fri) at 6am, enter:
0 6 * * 1-5 /root/script/backupFor more information refer to cron and crontab man pages.

You might note that all files normally found in /etc/init.d, /etc/rc*.d, and others are all in /sbin in HP-UX 10.20 and up.
Note too that your formatting is off in the description of the /etc/rc.config.d/cron file. Also, if you run /usr/bin/cron instead of /sbin/init.d/cron start, the /etc/rc.config.d/cron file is not used.

    I guess it would :)
btw, how did this piece miss from the contents pasted by the OP ?
The doc has given all details of CRON and missed where to see the logfiles. :)

I tried man crontab in windows, i dont see it.i overlook most of the things, i would have done the same ;)

  • How to delink sales order from a discrete job.

    Hi,
I wanted to know how we can delink sales order from a discrete job.
    Thanks

Go to the reservations screen in inventory; find the reservation using item number or sales order #
    Delete the reservation.
Alternatively, you can go to the wip job and click on reservations and delete it.
    Hope this helps,
