How to limit user history reports

where can I set the maximum number of instances intended as historical reports for all users?

On page 341 of the XIR2 Admin guide :
Setting limits for folders, users, and groups
Limits allow you to delete report instances on a regular basis. You set limits to
automate regular clean-ups of old BusinessObjects Enterprise content. Limits
that you set on a folder affect all objects that are contained within the folder.
At the folder level, you can limit the number of instances that remain on the
system for each object or for each user or group; you can also limit the
number of days that an instance remains on the system for a user or group.
It will be truly benefitial if you review admin guide.
If you go to any folder properties in CMC, it'll have Limits tab, where you can set those.
Or you can set it globaly by going to CMC>Settings>Limits.

  • CISCO ACS, How to Limit User Session ?

    Hi Guys,
    hope you would help me,
how to limit the user session in ACS 5.x ?
    i'm aware the menu on
Access Policies >Max User Session Policy > Max Session Group Settings
i already set the global value to 1, Max Session for User in Group to 1, and Max Session for Group to 1.
so it means the user only could open 1 connect at the same time right?
    the problem, it didn't works.
    i had 1 ACS 5.5
2 CISCO Cisco IOS Software, 3700 Software (C3725-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(15)T13, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)
    (let's call it R1 and R2 )
i'm trying to telnet both of them at the same time, and it works ( it means the session limit didn't works, cmiiw )
    i already include :
    radius-server attribute 44 include-in-access-req
    radius-server host 192.168.217.98 auth-port 1645 acct-port 1646 key somekey
    on the line vty :
     accounting connection acs
     login authentication acs
    am i missing something?
also, is this feature works on tacacs+ too?
    Thanks,

    Dash,
You can leverage the group mapping feature where members of a certain AD group are mapped to a local group in ACS with the max sessions defined.

  • How to assign users to report

    hi,
If i created a new report is there a need to assign the users to report from workspace or shared service in all takes care of it?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Workspace you will give access to specific reports.
Shared services you provision users for different roles, not down to specific reports, for a list of roles in reporting and analysis have a read here .

  • How to limit an Interactive Report Region from displaying.

I have a page which is an interactive report. When you call that page from another one it takes a while as it is selecting all rows (over 10k). Once those rows are retrieved and the user adds a filter criteria it's relatively fast. How do I limit the report from running when I call the page until the user adds a filter?
    thanks
    John

I'm not sure how this works. If I set it to a really small number say 5 rows it shows only 5 rows upon rendering of that page. However, when I subsequently click on Go for all rows or any other larger number I don't get the larger number. How do I get that portion to work as well?
    thanks

  • How to limit the max dialog no that one user can use at the same time?

    Hi,
I meet one performance problem that one user can open 6 sessions in the GUI and he/she can run 6 reports at the same time witch could occupy 6 dialogs in the sap R/3 instance. It makes poor performance for other users.
Would you pls tell me how to limit the no. of sessions one user can create at the same time or how to limit the no. of dialogs one user can occupy at the same time?
    Thanks a lot!
I used this parameters in the default profile as blew:
    rdisp/rfc_check 1
    rdisp/rfc_use_quotas 1
    rdisp/rfc_max_own_used_wp 20 (means: 20%)
    It still didn't work.
    Sean

    Hello,
We can reserve DIA W.P by giving value to the parameter :- rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp=1(default)
that have to necessarily remain free for other users.
This parameter is used to reserve a number of dialog work processes for Dailog mode.
For eg. If 10 dialog w.p. are configured for the instance(rdsip/wp_no_dia=10) and the parameter rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp=3 is set, parallel RFC's can occupy a maximum of 7 DIA W.P.3 DAI W.P. always remain free for dialog mode.
But now the question is how we assign/restrict this free dialog w.p. to the specific user.

  • Same old "how to limit history" question with FF 27.0.1

Windows 7 Pro., FF 27.0.1, Add-Ons Adobe and Flash (and it's auxiliaries)...just the basics. My box is a server as well as used for more ordinary tasks...email, browsers, document editors, etc, so it is always "on" and never in "idle." Therefore the add-ons that do these things don't do anything on my box.
This is, I know, is an old question, but unresolved, in my opinion. I revive it from this post:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/799503?fpa=1
First let me say I consider Firefox the best browser period. I like Mozilla's and Firefox's essential philosophy of user customization and control, while respecting their need to insure security and stability.
OK, the question is obvious from the title, How can I limit the history with Firefox? I have observed more recently where the enabling and disabling of JavaScript from the preferences options was removed. I read the Bugzilla and Firefox rationale and it was not difficult for me to open a about:config tab next to a tab containing a page I was working on so I could see how the page rendered without JavaScript. Once you knew how, it was only slightly more difficult than using the preferences options...so that does not really bother me.
The limiting of history is implied in the browser itself where, if you open up the history window, you can see your history and (for me) see an "older than six months" option which if you mouse over and right click will get a "delete" option. I think everyone who tries this crashes their browser and if anything is removed when you finally get it back up, it will be your cache.
I know that the amount of history is set in about:config in the setting "places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages" as an integer. From reading many articles here in "support", and from personal trial, I find that though that number can be increased, it can't be decreased. If one does, it reverts back to the old setting as soon as Firefox is re-opened.
I have read the blog referenced in the first link above: http://blog.bonardo.net/2010/01/20/places-got-async-expiration and it even seems outdated, containing references to places.history.expiration.max_pages, which is not the file in about:config in 27.0.1
In https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643254 I read the debate/discussion about these changes where Marco Bonardo steadfastly holds to his position while I find the comment by al_9x discussing the issue with him; "You have removed functionality that people use and like, that's been in Fx from its inception. It is you who need to justify its removal. And your justification of "nobody really wants to expire history" is a lie, people do and I explained why", to represent my feeling completely. I have no need or desire for history longer than 3 months. It is high-handed to limit Firefox users ability to limit their history. And no...I did not create yet another Mozilla account and "vote."
There must be some way I and other users can limit (or increase) their history. So I am asking "How"? If it is currently impossible, by design itself, to do so then I find that a very disturbing trend away from the whole philosophy of user control and customization.
If I am missing something, please inform me. Please *don't* send me a bunch of the standard "help" articles, for I have read them all. So that's my question.
    Regards,
    Axis

    Thank you cor-el!
I have added the new integer places.history.expiration.max_pages and when I added it places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages changed its value to equal what I had put in places.history.expiration.max_pages.
This is all I needed, I believe. I did not know I was to ''create'' the new integer, now I know how to do so and to your credit you I would like to say to all the Firefox users that this is the best solution I have read to the oft asked question, "How Can I Limit my History in Firefox."

  • How to restrict / limit users NOT to view a particular type of costs !

    Hi,
    EBS - R12.1
One of the requirements from our client is that, they want to cost employee salaries onto Projects (as overheads).
Now, how to limit/restrict visibility (view) of these costs to all users (except PM).
I mean, can we restrict a particular type of costs to everyone except PM.
    Please let me know.
    Thank you,
    Vish

    Hi
Here is the explanation from Oracle Help:
Project and Labor Cost Security in Oracle Projects
Oracle Projects provides three levels of project-based security to protect data ownership and sensitivity in relation to a given project or project template. For each level of security, Oracle Projects enforces default business rules depending on an employee's relationship to a project, as illustrated below:
Action Key Member Cross- Project Other Users
Query project information YES YES YES
Update project information and perform functions on a project YES YES
View labor costs of detail expenditure items (@) YES YES
(@) Only if the user's project role type is configured to view labor costs.
You can override the default logic or add additional security criteria via the Project Security Client Extension. For a detailed description of the project security extension, see: Project Security Extension.
Key members are responsible for the management and administration of the project to which they are assigned. Each key member is assigned a project role type, which describes the type of role that the employee has on the project. Project role types include Project Manager and Project Administrator. You define whether each role type can view labor costs online and in reports.
Cross-project users can view expenditure details and update information for any project, even if they are not assigned as a key member to the project. Cross-project users log in to Oracle Projects under a cross-project responsibility. You define an Oracle Projects responsibility as a cross-project responsibility by setting the PA: Cross-Project Responsibility profile option value to Yes.
    View Labor Cost Allowed
This level of security determines whether or not you can view labor costs (both raw and burdened). The default business rule in Oracle Projects is that you may view labor costs if you are:
    ### A key member for the project and your project role type allows you to view labor costs
    ### A cross-project user
If you are not permitted to view labor costs, the amount is not shown in the form field; that is, the field will be blank.

  • How to view the History of a Crystal Reports iView in EP6?

How to view the History of a Crystal Reports iView in EP6?
Our Crystal reports are viewed via Crystal Enterprise and are both BW and non-BW Crystal reports.
I have looked at the three supplied iViews from Business Objects (alert, folder and thumbnail) but I have only been able to access the last instance or run on demand a CR.
Our users would prefer to see a listing of the past runs of the report and choose which report to view.  What parameters need set in the EP6 iView to see the history of a report?

    Hi Heather,
it is correct that there is no sample iView that shows the History of Crystal Reports that are stored in Crystal Enterprise but there a sample codes on our web site and there are sample codes as part of the SDK documentation that show how to call the history and you should be able to take the code and create your own Java or ASP iView based on that.

  • How to limit the number of rows in a report

I have several reports with a number of parameters - date ranges etc.
Depending on the parameter values selected by the user the reports can return thousands of rows.
I would like to limit the number of rows returned to, say, 500. If more than 500 rows are returned by the query then display an error message requesting that the user enter more specific parameters.
Ideally for performance reasons it would be good to catch the error before the datafile is generated, but I don't know if this is possible. Alternatively a check in the template might do the job - using COUNT on the group?.

    Hi Hugh,
In your query, you got to add rowum < 500 or some sort of DB specific limit to the row being returned,
this will help to stop the report to get more than 500 records and the report template wont have any restriction.
    or
you can do that in template too, but i would not recommend.
In these both cases or in any case, you cannot give any meaningful error if it exceeds N rows, there is no option like this till now.

  • How many users and how often a particular discoverer report is being run?

    Hi there,
We run discoverer(4i) reports from portal. The question is:
How to find out the number of users and how often a particular discoverer report is being run?
    Many Thanks in advance.
    Naren

I know in the 9 versions of discoverer is there is a Discoverer v5 Business Area that is included out of the box. You have to have the stats turned on inside of the pref.txt. But that BA has all of the information to create queries about who, what, parameters, etc. You'll have to check and see if its part of 4i.

  • How to print history report without refreshing?

    Hi,
Does someone tell me how to print history report (deski, webi, and crystal) without refreshing via Java API?
I could not find in Java doc and Developer Library.
    thanks,
    Tak

    Hi,
It looks like that you wan to print Report's Instance and refering it as history report. If you want to print Instance of report (CR, Webi or DeskI), frist get the SI_ID, so that we can access that instance and then we have to use appropriate controller to print the report (instance)
    for CR, use BOE/RAS SDK
for Webi and DeskI, use REBean SDK
