How to load a range of data in Diadem?

Hello; I have a set of Access DB containing analytic data of 5 jears. How can I import a range of data (eg. all year 2003 data)in Diadem for analysis?

but I couldn't choose explizit the time channel. Also I couldn't set a command like 'between 1.1.2003 and 31.12.2003'. Attached is an exemple of the dataset. The time channel is '50_DAT'.

How to load 6 months of data for 11_VAITM

Hello,
We recently found out that our production BW system was getting ZERO records from it's R/3 source for 11_VAITM since the middle of June 2007 - almost 6 months. We investigated to find out that it was because the last delta load with data thought it was cancelled. All of the sales order data has been accumulating since this "cancelled load" in LBWQ, so the missing data is available.
Our current issue is how we should load 6 million records for this datasource. If we run the delta, it will take days to load and will impact other nightly loads and the users on the system. Is there any way to split up the delta to load a specified range of data? Or is our best option to do a full load by date range and delete the data in the queue in LBWQ?

Does your extractor load data to ODS first and then to cube or directly to cube?
If you do repair full load directly to cube there may be addition of KF depending upon data present in the cube....
Also 6 million wont take much time...but risk of bad data .. and to know best selection key to pull data is key...
For repair ful : you need to delete and fill set up tables accordingly..

into one database table:

The number of lines per name is unlimited, the next line starts after a separating ---- line.
We cannot change the format of the text file to import.
There is an example in the documentation that shows how to load a structure like the following via insert triggers:
001 scott New York 01.01.2002 1234
Chicago 15.10.2001 9876
002 smith Los Angeles 24.12.1999 5678
Washington 01.12.1999 0000
Chicago 01.01.2000 1111
But we have the name information on a separate header line, so I don't know if we can use a similar technique here.

Try enclosing your strings with e.g. a double-quote. To do so, the control file needs the following (example):
LOAD DATA
REPLACE
INTO TABLE test
FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'

id3,
id4,

To get reports on all ur records save ur flat file in .CSV format -> to do this open ur flat file, save as "filename.csv".
-> CSV is nothing but comma seperator value, sap supports two types of formats 1).csv and 2) ASCII format.
we prefer .csv format.

How to load the GL Balances data to ECC using BODS 4.0

Hi All,
Could provide the suggestions, how to load in the GL balances files into SAP ECC ( F-02 , F-04, F-08 ) using BODS 4.0 Version other than LSMW.
Is there any simple mechanism to upload the GL files , will be appreciated if you could sent any document / links . We do not have the LSMW enough licences to use it.

Thanks Harsha, there is NO IDOC for these posts/ loads , for these there would be a bespoke IDOC or BAPI development is required , but we do not want to go through an additional development cost, we looking for options without ABAP development activity. can you suggest any easy options to load financial postings / loads using only BODS .

How to load one-time vendor data into BW?

Hello,
I'm new to bi/bw. We've loaded the R/3 vendor master data using business content 0VENDOR. As testing I've created an ODS with document, vendor and amount. When I ran a query against that ODS in BEX, the one-time vendor doesn't have the actual vendor name of the document as in BSEC.
Please let me know how I would get the one-time vendor acct data information to BW so when the query is correct with the vendor data in BSEC.

i know partially, our's was coming from BCS, so one of our users updated the OC41 Currency Rate table and after that a ZTCUR program to update the rates in BW.
I do not have access to those programs, so i dont have much to add further.
BUT I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU.
Does the new rate supersedes the old ones. For eg: i just ran a query with plan yr 2007 and it selected the correct plan rate.
But when i ran the same query with plan yr 2006 it STILL selects the new plan rate instead of the old one.
Is that normal / correct ?
I'd really appreciate your response.

Due to the large volume of the raster data set you have, please always consider concurrent loading and avoid loading from remote network (copy data to the server and then load).

I can load the time using the control file but it adds the first of the month as date in the column. I want to load only time value. Appreciate any help on this.

I meant, how are these columns defined in the table that is being loaded?
If these are defined as DATE, then as was pointed out Oracle will default the date portions if they are not provided in the formatted string.
If these are defined as NUMBER (with some fractional portion), then you could use a combination of substr, multiplication and concatenation to derive the time as number in the form <seconds>.<fractional seconds>.
You could also look into the data type INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND.
SQL> create table trans_abends (

5   abend_pgm char(8),

How to load only BW text data into BPC 10.0

Hello,
I am trying to load BW text data into BPC 10.0 objects.
For BW InfoObject 0VERSION there is no attribute data (no P, Q, M tables) only text data (T table).
For BW InfoObject 0VERSION I created VERSION as Dimension in BPC 10.0 and it is not having any properties.
I created a Transformation file to load the data from 0VERSION of BW to VERSION of BPC and in the validation it is giving an error.
In the Validation it is giving error as '0VERSION is empty' but data is available in 0VERSION of BW.
Based on the error I am thinking that we cannot load only Text data from BW into BPC if they don't have any attribute data. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Is it possible to load only Text data without attributes from BW to BPC?
Can some one help me in loading the data?

I mapped Dimension ID to 0VERSION but still it is giving error.
In the validation it is saying as 0VERSION is empty but data is there in the BW system.

How to load 3.x hierarchy data source from a certain level ?

Hi all,
I have an old 3.x hierarchy data souce which has a structure like below :
　　　Level 0 : root node
              Level 1: Product Category
                  Level 2: Product Line
                      Level 3: Product
                          Level 4 : Product Version
each level has independent infoobject for it.
The hierarchy was initially constructed for the infoobject on the level 4 'Product Version'.
Now here comes anther requriement, we also want to have a hierarchy for 'Product' and try to reuse the datasource.
So the question is , is it possible to extract from the same data source, while just update the hierarchy for 'Product ' starting from the level 3 (up to level 0)?
PS: i can't migrate the data souce to 7.X, because the source system doesn't support.
I hope I made my question clearly.

Finally I solved this problem myself.
there are many mays if you want to realize the requirement, only if you change your way of thinking, don't be stuck your mind with the thought we have to use the original data source coming from the source system.
I'd like to introduce 2 ways I am thinking of:
1. use the SAP standard program 'Z_SAP_HIERARCHY_DOWNLOAD' to save the hierarchy as a .csv file, then you can refer to http://scn.sap.com/community/data-warehousing/bw/blog/2012/01/08/bw-730-hierarchy-loading-becomes-easier-with-the-help-of-new-framework
however this didn't work for me, because the program might be outdated in my working environment BW7.4, though I did some bugfix for this program , the output file seems with some errors.
2. since the hierarchy for the 4th level infoobject has been successfully updated in my case, we can use it as the data provider directly . Here is the general dataflow : 4th level infoobject hierarchy -> DSO -> target infoobject hierarchy (3rd level infoobject) .
for this DSO strucure, you should also refer to the link above, the structure is just like the EXCEL file provided. but you should be aware of adding external characteristics in the data fields of your DSO if there is external characteristics in your hierarchy.
in the transformation of 'source infoobject hierarchy' , you should select 'hierarchy (one segment)' as the subtype of hierarchy.
in the transoformation of 'DSO -> target infoobject' , you should map the source and target carefully , especially for the segment 'Structure' , you should make sure the field 0H_HIERNODE and the external chars. have proper value filled.

How to query a range of dates?

I have a tables containing holiday data such as the sites they visit and the dates they depart.
I need a query that only shows the holidays that depart in the June-2011. I have got it to work for specific dates e.g ='06-02-2011'.
But if i try and do more than one date e.g ='06-02-2011',06-15-2011'..or just June in general it doesnt work.
Is there a way to do this? I am using query builder by the way but am happy to use SQL commands if thats easier.

How do I import non-numeric data into DIAdem?

I have some non-numeric data in an Excel file which I would like to import into DIAdem. DIAdem recognizes the file and imports some of the data, but it only imports those cells that are purely numeric. Cells containing non-numeric characters are ignored. But I need that non-numeric data! How do I force DIAdem to import everything? (Some controls appear in the import dialog that seem like they might be useful here but they're greyed out.)

You can not load text columns from ASCII files into DIAdem 8.1 DATA channels (numbers only). But the ASCII Import Wizard will let you send those text values to either a separate ASCII file, which DIAdem can use to put them on a graph as labels, or to a DIAdem string array, which DIAdem can use to display them at various places in its environment.
The below attachments demonstrate reading an ASCII text column into a DIAdem string array and displaying the values on a DIAdem table in GRAPH. Note that the index values of the string array are placed in a DIAdem DATA channel.
