  • ICP dimension in Planning Application

    Hi All!
    Did you ever have requirement to use intercompany in planning?
    Whether there is a possibility to use ICP dimension in Planning application?

    Hi!
    I have had it in some applications. It just has to be added as a custom dimension. Calculations concerning eliminations and so on has to be done through Business rules or essbase calcluation scripts. So far I have not found any support in Planning for icp requirements.

  • How to load dimensions and members in Planning application

    Hello Everyone,
    I am trying to load dimensions and members in planning. I know that loading dimension is not recommended through Essbase but I wanted to give it a try. I tried to load the dimensions through rule files but it threw an error that the "members do not exist in database." Is that an indication that data cant be loaded at all in planning application through Essbase.
    Thanks is advance for all the replies !!

    If this is a planning application, you need to load metadata/dimension to planning first. You cannot load metadata directly to Essbase as it will be overwritten when you refresh planning.
    You should read documentation to understanding how planning works. Planning is an interface which sits on top on Essbase. However, Planning metadata is stored in database tables and it is synch'd with Essbase through Hyperion Planning refresh.
    In order to load metadata to planning, I would suggest to log on to planning and try to build dimensions manually first to know how planning interacts with Essbase. You could load metadata into planning through:
    1. Manually
    2. ODI: You will need to reverse planning application and then use it to load metadata
    3. Outline load utility on planning server.
    Remember, all Planning maintenance is done through planning interface and not through Essbase.

  • How to ERPi Automation To planning application

    Dear All ,
    we are on critical issue , We are on EPM 3 tiers servers .
    We are having planning and budgeting application . and we did successfully all erpi setup dataload and drill through .
    Question 1 : How to automate ERPi data load ?
    We are using ERPi to load data and metadata from EBS to our target Hyperion Planning Application .
    during metadata load , members set to be at the root of the dimension .
    Question 2 , How to choose where the extracted members to be placed at certain position at EPMA Hierarchy
    Question 3 , Does Drill through doesn't work If we didn't metadata load ?

    Depending on version you can use batch scripts to automate the meta data rules and data load rules from a command line, this functionality was introduced from 11.1.2.1.501

  • Extracting Dimension from Planning Application through EPMA File Generator

    Hi,
    I have a EPMA planning application (in version 11.1.1.2) and I want to extract its dimensions in to a ads file. I am using EPMA File Generator 9.3.1 for the purpose.
    I am selecting the "From Planning Application" tab and entering all the required details, but when I execute... I get error "Unable to get metadata. Please check the web URL, application name, and application server."
    I checked the web URL which is:
    http://<server name>:8300/HyperionPlanning
    and my application name & server are also correct...
    Please help me to find out what exactly is going wrong here...
    Thanks & Regards,
    AK

    Why are you using 9.3.1 version, is there not a newer version in \Hyperion\products\Foundation\BPMA\EPMAFileGenerator\
    Also if it an EPMA application you can use the EPMA tab to generate the ADS.
    Cheers

    Thanks for the quick response John.
    The ODI version is 11.1.1 and the planning version is 11 1 2 2
    I have a quick update on the issue.
    I have planning service on two servers (load balanced)
    I changed the ODI connection to second server and the ODI started working (I mean error was resolved)
    Following your posts in forum, I suspect it has something to do with Firewall settings.
    can you please guide me how I can speak to server operations guys on correct firewall settings
    Thanks

  • Loading dimensions to Planning

    I'm trying to build a Planning database on System 9.3.1 and the account dimension is large. What is the best way to load the outline to Planning from a flat file? The outline utility is not available until V11, right ?

    In 9.3.1 you have the options of manual, HAL, ODI, DIM

  • How to load content from the application directory?

    I'm currently working on an AIR desktop application that will be distributed on OSX and Windows. The main applicaiton SWF will load a child swf that has been packaged. When I've attempted to load the child SWF via loader.load() with a URI of "app:\\TheChildContentSWF.swf", the load has failed with an IOError. If I force a copy of the the SWF (in OSX) to the MacOS directory where the executable resides, the child SWF would load. I was a little stumped by this so I decided to check what the nativePath of the application directory was via File.applicationDirectory.nativePath (it turned out to point at the Resources directory). Does the "app://" URI point to different paths when using Loader vs File?
    If so, is there a way to package content so that it is installed in a directory that Loader can recognize without hitting security sandbox issues?
    Visual of the OSX app directory structure (simplified)
    MyApp.app\
         Contents\
              Frameworks\
              MacOS\
                   executable
              Resources\
                   TheAppSWF.swf
                   TheChildContentSWF.swf
                    ... // other content
    Thanks for any help!
    Josh

    When loading application, move the swf to the applicationStorage folder if it doesn't exist already.
    Something like ...
    private var swfDistribute:File = File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath('ResourcesChildContentSWF.swf');
    private var swfLocal:File      = File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath('TheChildContentSWF.swf');
    private function onCreationComplete():void
       if (!swfLocal.exists) {
          if (swfDistribute.exists) {
             swfDistribute.copyTo(swfLocal);
    Then you should be able to call your loader.load() URI with the variable (swfLocal)

  • Error in Loading Data In Planning Application

    Hi
    we are getting the Following error in loading data by using Outline Load utility by specifying driver members on the Planning Data Load Administrator Page.
    Client Enable Status false
    com.hyperion.planning.InvalidMemberException: The member USD,BS,Current,BU Version_1 ,FY11 does not exist or you do not have access to it.
    We also tried to load the data by using .CSV File, it is showing NO ERROR in the CMD....but we are unable to preview the data in Essbase after refreshing the database in Planning.
    Cheers,
    Mohammed

    I can be totally wrong but did you intentionally put a space between BU Version_1 and comma?
    USD,BS,Current,BU Version_1 ,FY11
    I found this guideline: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/hp_admin/ch05s02s01.html Are you sure you are following the correct steps?
    Finally, are you able to load the data through Essbase Load Rules?

  • How to load pdf in flex application for android os

    I loaded pdf in stagewebview which works good in IOS but not in android.
    The pdf file is loaded from the application storage directory.
    Please help me in resolving the problem. Thank you in advance.

    I think that my problem was i couldnt see pdf in my app running in ipad simulator of FlashBuilder in a flex mobile project in my laptop. what i read said that StageWebView create an instance of default browser in your machine. So that if we cant see pdf in ipad simulator is because also you cant see it in the default browser.
    Apart of this, i run this example in other machine, and i could see it, so its not problem of your code, but from your browser probably doesnt have pdf plugin installed. Correct me if i´m wrong.

  • How to load objects in web application context during oc4j startup?

    Hi
    How I can put some objects in application context during oc4j application startup?
    I'm using oracle as10g j2ee and web cache edition.
    Thanks

    An idea would be to write your own OC4JStartup implementing class and have this thing create the objects you want and bind them to JNDI.
