How to load external text file into a Form?

Hi,
I made a menu with 1-5 in a Form and 5 external text files. I want the user who is able to view the text content of the text file when he chooses one of them from the menu. And the text file screen has a "Back" command button to let him go back.
How can I do it and can it support other languages such as Chinese and Japanese?
Thanks for help.
gogo

Sorry, I made the mistake about the subject, it should be loading local file, not external file through http.
I wrote a method but it throwed an exception when the midlet was run.
private void loadText()
try {
InputStream is = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("/text.txt");
StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
int chr;
while ((chr = is.read()) != -1)
sb.append((char) chr);
is.close();
catch (Exception e)
System.out.println("Error occurs while reading file");
I put the text.txt file in the same folder with the main file (extends midlet). How can I load the text content and display it on StringItem?
Thanks for any help.

One may specify parameters by position before but not after parameters specified by keywords. For example, 'sqlldr scott/tiger control=foo logfile=log' is allowed, but 'sqlldr scott/tiger control=foo log' is not, even though the position of the parameter 'log' is correct.

  • How to load a text file int JEditorPane and highlight some words (Urgent !)

    I want to load a text file into a JEditorPane and then highlights some keywords such as while,if and else.I am using an EditorKit in order to style the JEditorPane. I have no difficulty while giving the input through the keyboard but lots of exceptions are thrown if i try to load the string from a file.

    Hi,
    I think the setCharacterAttributes(int offset, int length, AttributeSet s, boolean replace) will solve the problem.
    You can create your own Styled Document and set it to the Editor Pane.

  • How can I sync text files into iPhone?

    How can I sync text files into iPhone? like doc. txt. for reading or editing

    The native iPhone OS doesn't allow that. I think there are several solutions to this, some of which may be against the AT&T or Apple rules. One legitimate solution is The Missing Sync for iPhone by mark/space (http://www.markspace.com).
    Before I had an iPhone, I owned a copy of The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile. It was a pretty decent app. In my opinion, though, their app for the iPhone is NOT worth the price ($40 new, $25 for a cross-grade).
    Also, check the App Store (if you have 2.0 software)--there may be an app that does this, probably for a lot less $.

  • How can I use sql loader to load a text file into a table

    Hi, I need to load a text file that has records on lines tab delimited into a table. How would I be able to use the sql loader to do this? I am using korn shell to do this. I am very new at this...so any kind of helpful examples or documentation would be very appreciated. I would love to see some examples to help me understand if possible. I need help! Thanks alot!

    You should check out the documentation on SQL*Loader in the online Oracle document titled Utilities. Here's a link to the 9iR2 version of it: http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle9i/doc_library/release2/server.920/a96652/part2.htm#436160

  • How to load a text file (ASCII) into a TS string variable?

    I need to load a ASCII file into a TS string variable for subsequent processing. I tried the SecuenceBuilder DLL (in the examples directory) but it seems that this DLL has a bug. Some text files are not loaded properly. I have also tried the kernel32 functions (openfile, createfile, readfile ... ) handling them as a C program, but with no success. The property loader feature of TS is not the suitable solution for me, because I would have to modify all my text files to include some specific fields (step name, variables, starmarker ...). Doy you know an alternative procedure to load text files or any DLL that implements what I look for ? Any help would be grateful. Cesar ([email protected])

    Hi Cesar,
    I don't know if you have found a solution, but attached is a DLL built in VC that will read the text out of a file into a TestStand variable. The attached sequence file \SequenceFile1.seq contains a step type that is set to call the DLL responsible for reading the file. It reads the file specified under Step.FilePath and stores the data in Step.ReadData. Please let me know if this works for you. I have attached the source as well.

  • How to load a XML file into a table

    Hi,
    I've been working on Oracle for many years but for the first time I was asked to load a XML file into a table.
    As an example, I've found this on the web, but it doesn't work
    Can someone tell me why? I hoped this example could help me.
    the file acct.xml is this:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <ACCOUNT_HEADER_ACK>
    <HEADER>
    <STATUS_CODE>100</STATUS_CODE>
    <STATUS_REMARKS>check</STATUS_REMARKS>
    </HEADER>

    <DETAIL>
    <SEGMENT_NUMBER>2</SEGMENT_NUMBER>
    <REMARKS>rp polytechnic</REMARKS>
    </DETAIL>

    <REMARKS> base polytechnic logistics</REMARKS>
    </DETAIL>
    </DETAILS>
    </ACCOUNT_HEADER_ACK>
    For the two tags HEADER and DETAILS I have the table:
    create table xxrp_acct_details(
    status_code number,
    status_remarks varchar2(100),
    segment_number number,
    remarks varchar2(100)
    before I've created a
    create directory test_dir as 'c:\esterno'; -- where I have my acct.xml
    and after, can you give me a script for loading data by using XMLTABLE?
    I've tried this but it doesn't work:
    DECLARE
    acct_doc xmltype := xmltype( bfilename('TEST_DIR','acct.xml'), nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8') );
    BEGIN
    insert into xxrp_acct_details (status_code, status_remarks, segment_number, remarks)
    select x1.status_code,
            x1.status_remarks,
            x2.segment_number,
            x2.remarks
    from xmltable(
      '/ACCOUNT_HEADER_ACK/HEADER'
      passing acct_doc
      columns header_no      for ordinality,
              status_code    number        path 'STATUS_CODE',
              status_remarks varchar2(100) path 'STATUS_REMARKS'
    ) x1,
    xmltable(
      '$d/ACCOUNT_HEADER_ACK/DETAILS[$hn]/DETAIL'

      columns segment_number number        path 'SEGMENT_NUMBER',
              remarks        varchar2(100) path 'REMARKS'
    ) x2
    END;
    This should allow me to get something like this:
    select * from xxrp_acct_details;
    Statuscode status remarks segement remarks
    100 check 2 rp polytechnic
    100 check 3 rp polytechnic administration
    100 check 4 rp polytechnic finance
    100 check 5 rp polytechnic logistics
    500 process exception 20 base polytechnic
    500 process exception 30
    500 process exception 40 base polytechnic finance
    500 process exception 50 base polytechnic logistics
    but I get:

    My oracle version is 10gR2 Express Edition
    I do need a script for loading xml files into a table as soon as possible, Give me please a simple example for understanding and that works on 10gR2 Express Edition
    Thanks in advance!

    The reason your first SQL statement
    select x1.status_code,
            x1.status_remarks,
            x2.segment_number,
            x2.remarks
    from xmltable(
      '/ACCOUNT_HEADER_ACK/HEADER'
      passing acct_doc
      columns header_no      for ordinality,
              status_code    number        path 'STATUS_CODE',
              status_remarks varchar2(100) path 'STATUS_REMARKS'
    ) x1,
    xmltable(
      '$d/ACCOUNT_HEADER_ACK/DETAILS[$hn]/DETAIL'
      passing acct_doc as "d",
              x1.header_no as "hn"
      columns segment_number number        path 'SEGMENT_NUMBER',
              remarks        varchar2(100) path 'REMARKS'
    ) x2
    returns the error you noticed
    PL/SQL: ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected - got NUMBER
    is because Oracle is expecting XML to be passed in.  At the moment I forget if it requires a certain format or not, but it is simply expecting the value to be wrapped in simple XML.
    Your query actually runs as is on 11.1 as Oracle changed how that functionality worked when 11.1 was released.  Your query runs slowly, but it does run.
    As you are dealing with groups, is there any way the input XML can be modified to be like
    <ACCOUNT_HEADER_ACK>
    <ACCOUNT_GROUP>
    <HEADER>....</HEADER>
    <DETAILS>....</DETAILS>
    </ACCOUNT_GROUP>
      <ACCOUNT_GROUP>
      <HEADER>....</HEADER>
      <DETAILS>....</DETAILS>
      </ACCOUNT_GROUP>
    </ACCOUNT_HEADER_ACK>
    so that it is easier to associate a HEADER/DETAILS combination?  If so, it would make parsing the XML much easier.
    Assuming the answer is no, here is one hack to accomplish your goal
    select x1.status_code,
            x1.status_remarks,
            x3.segment_number,
            x3.remarks
    from xmltable(
      '/ACCOUNT_HEADER_ACK/HEADER'
      passing acct_doc
      columns header_no      for ordinality,
              status_code    number        path 'STATUS_CODE',
              status_remarks varchar2(100) path 'STATUS_REMARKS'
    ) x1,
    xmltable(
      '$d/ACCOUNT_HEADER_ACK/DETAILS'
      passing acct_doc as "d",
      columns detail_no      for ordinality,
              detail_xml     xmltype       path 'DETAIL'
    ) x2,
    xmltable(
      'DETAIL'
      passing x2.detail_xml
      columns segment_number number        path 'SEGMENT_NUMBER',
              remarks        varchar2(100) path 'REMARKS') x3
    WHERE x1.header_no = x2.detail_no;
    This follows the approach you started with.  Table x1 creates a row for each HEADER node and table x2 creates a row for each DETAILS node.  It assumes there is always a one and only one association between the two.  I use table x3, which is joined to x2, to parse the many DETAIL nodes.  The WHERE clause then joins each header row to the corresponding details row and produces the eight rows you are seeking.
    There is another approach that I know of, and that would be using XQuery within the XMLTable.  It should require using only one XMLTable but I would have to spend some time coming up with that solution and I can't recall whether restrictions exist in 10gR2 Express Edition compared to what can run in 10.2 Enterprise Edition for XQuery.

  • How to load a BDB file into memory?

    The entire BDB database needs to reside in memory for performance reasons, it needs to be in memory all the time, not paged in on demand. The physical memory and virtual process address space are large enough to hold this file. How can I load it into memory just before accessing the first entry? I've read the C++ API reference, and it seems that I can do the following:
    1, Create a DB environment;
    2, Call DB_ENV->set_cachesize() to set a memory pool large enough to hold the BDB file;
    3, Call DB_MPOOLFILE->open() to open the BDB file in memory pool of that DB environment;
    4, Create a DB handle in that DB environment and open the BDB file (again) via this DB handle.
    My questions are:
    1, Is there a more elegant way instead of using that DB environment? If the DB environment is a must, then:
    2, Does step 3 above load the BDB file into memory pool or just reserve enough space for that file?
    Thanks in advance,
    Feng

    Hello,
    Does the documentation on "Memory-only or Flash configurations" at:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17076_02/html/programmer_reference/program_ram.html
    answer the question?
    From there we have:
    By default, databases are periodically flushed from the Berkeley DB memory cache to backing physical files in the filesystem. To keep databases from being written to backing physical files, pass the DB_MPOOL_NOFILE flag to the DB_MPOOLFILE->set_flags() method. This flag implies the application's databases must fit entirely in the Berkeley DB cache, of course. To avoid a database file growing to consume the entire cache, applications can limit the size of individual databases in the cache by calling the DB_MPOOLFILE->set_maxsize() method.
    Thanks,
    Sandra

  • How to load a text file?

    I'm trying to load a text file and I've run into a wall. So
    far, I've loaded swf files, image files and XML files without
    problems. But the text files just don't seem to load.
    It's not a tough situation. The files are in the same
    directory as the application. When I run it, I see no sign that the
    file has loaded, but haven't found the error trapping to tell me
    what is (not) going on.
    The code below was culled from examples on the web, they seem
    fairly consistent, and they are copied pretty much exactly. and I
    put them both into a single action to test them.
    Any clues as to what is not happening? I need to read an old
    txt data file that was used with AS2, with pairs of names and
    variables. The first example just reads a couple of variables. The
    second just reads some random text. I'm just trying to see what
    works here, so I can incorporate working code into the real
    program.
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks Joergen,
    I put in the changes you suggested and still no sign that the
    files are even being opened., but it's very good to have the
    feedback. Just the fact that someone is getting them to run gives
    me confidence in the basic code. I'll hack on it more and let you
    know what the answer turns out to be for me.
    Thanks.

  • How to include external .js file into .ear file using NetBean 5.5.1?

    is it possible to include external .js file into .ear file using NetBean 5.5.1? if not, then where should I placed the external .js file and how to write the src="xxx" element? (that is , how to write the path of "xxx"?)

    Even this is also not possible because, the code in that package is developed by DWR and i am just adding it to my lib folder and importing the respective classes. In the same manner i need to include the *.js* file in the JSP.It took me about 3 minutes reading through the [DWR Getting Started|http://getahead.org/dwr/getstarted] page to learn that you don't have to do any of that. Perhaps you should read that page?

  • How to load a java file into Oracle?

    Hello,
    I have some problem in loading a java file into Oracle 8i. I used "loadjava -user <userName/Password> -resolve <javaClassName>" command.
    JAVA Version used JDK 1.5
    When calling this class file from a trigger gives this error
    ORA-29541: class ANTONY1.DBTrigger could not be resolved.
    Can anyone help me to resolve this problem?

    Hello,
    Which username did you use to load the class, and which user is running the trigger?
    The default resolver searches only the current user's schema and PUBLIC so the java class needs to be loaded into one of these.

    You might want to read a little bit about Jakarta's POI and see if it can help you.

  • Loading a text file into a global variable issue - really a global var?

    From all the documentation and examples I can find, it appears that it would be
    correct to create a global array variable [outside of any functions] to load image names into,
    then use these images for a slideshow. I want to make the app dynamic, in that changing the text file gives a new set of images.
    The global variable goes null [no values] after the load event listener. Why is that?
    Isn't global, well global, and alive for the duration of the SWF?
    PARAMS.TXT:
    monthNames=January,February,March,April,May,June,July,August,September,October,November,De cember&dayNames=Sunday,Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday
    CODE:
    var dNames:Array = new Array();
    var mNames:Array = new Array();
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("images/params.txt");
    var variables:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    variables.dataFormat = URLLoaderDataFormat.VARIABLES;
    variables.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, completeHandler);
    try
    variables.load(request);
    catch (error:Error)
    trace("Unable to load URL: " + error);
    trace("2 mNames 2: " + mNames[2]);
    trace("2 dNames 3: " + dNames[3]);
    stop();
    function completeHandler(event:Event):void
    var loader:URLLoader = URLLoader(event.target);
    dNames = loader.data.dayNames.split(",");
    mNames = loader.data.monthNames.split(",");
    trace(loader.data.dayNames);
    trace("1 mNames 2: " + mNames[2]);
    trace("1 dNames 3: " + dNames[3]);
    OUTPUT:
    2 mNames 2: undefined
    2 dNames 3: undefined
    Sunday,Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday
    1 mNames 2: March
    1 dNames 3: Wednesday
    How do I access these values after loading from the external file, after the load?
    Thanks in advance.

    The statement you quoted from whatever Adobe documentation is correct.
    If you want to load the data into the arrays before anything else happens, then have anything else that happens execute via the completeHandler function... after the data is loaded and processed into the arrays.
    the command: loadFile() executes before the trace("2:" +images[4]); command.  The loadFile function is processed and the loading process BEGINS... but starting the loading does not delay the main processing from continuing down the line--the loading itself becomes a secondary/background task.  The command was to execute the loadFile function and the processing of that function was completed.  If you don't believe so, then add a trace...
    function loadFile():void
         vars.dataFormat = URLLoaderDataFormat.VARIABLES;
         vars.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete, false, 0, true);
         vars.load(new URLRequest("images/fnames.txt"));
         trace("started loading");
    If you add that trace, you should see that the loadFile function execution is completed and the next line in your code is then processed... trace(2....)
    The addEventlistener does not stop anything.  The addEventListener code is assigning a monitor, not a traffic controller... it is telling the monitor to indicate when the data has finished loading.  It is not telling anything to stop program execution.
    So if you want to wait until the data is loaded before you do anything else... it goes....
    function onComplete(evt:Event):void
         var urlVars:URLVariables = evt.target.data;
         images = vars.data.images.split(",");
         tnails = vars.data.thumbnails.split(",");
