How to load Flash component on a Mac Native Window

Hi, I have a application working fine on Windows, Have Flash
component loaded on PC window and send and receive event through
C++, But I dont have any idea how to do it on Mac, I have used MFC
etc in PC to display the Flash component on it but how can I do the
same on Mac, Basically I require a Mac window to host a Flash
Component with some other media components and being able to send
and receive events in C++ to and fro on Mac window.

You need to quit Safari before Flash can be installed. No need to remove Safari.
With Safari open, from the menu bar click Safari > Quit Safari
Then proceed with the Flash installation.
When you are done installing Flash, you can re launch Safari.

i think many people are asking about this too, but i didn't find a true/info article to show you how,
so I ask again in here hopefully someone can give me an true answer!
I don't want to install flash due to security and some other disadvantage mentioned by other,
but video uploaded to Facebook still using flash, and youtube opened in safari, some video showed only 240p, 360p, 720p, it doesn't show 480p,1080p and 4k or 60fps version, but when I install bogle chrome, everything look fine, I get vey those option available, I heard google chrome has built in flash/sandboxed flash, not sure how it's work, but google famous at tracking so I don't want to use google chrome, so guys any way to use safari to view all those things?

You do realize Google owns YouTube, correct?
Don't install Flash Player if you don't want to use it. It's a dead technology and the sooner people stop using it, the better. Most websites no longer require Adobe Flash Player.

How to load FLASH 11.

I too have this problem since day before yesterday. Kaspersky told me to upgrade to FLASH 11 .0.1.152 because 10.3.183.7 has vulnerabilities.
(In the recent past I had problems upgrading to 10.3.183.7 from 10.3.183.5. I was finally able to successfully change from 5 to 7 by de-installing FLASH. Re-booting. Then doing an Alternate Manual download of FLASH. After a couple of attempts it worked, but not on the first try.)
So, when Kaspersky again told me to upgrade to FLASH 11 I assumed one must go through the same rigmarole to get it to work.
I’m using Firefox (latest ver). MS Vista on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. 32 bit. (What else?)
What I then did:
Downloaded.
De-installed FLASH 10.3.183.7.
Re-booted.
Tried to load the dwnld.
Didn’t work. Error msg. So I:
Disabled all Firewalls. (Sex without protection!)
Downloaded from Adobe and CNET.com
Loaded the dwnld. Did not work. Error msg.
I have de-installed, reinstalled and re-booted ZIG times. With and w/o firewalls. In all cases when I dbl click the downloaded Adobe icon (saved to the desktop) it starts but then the icon disappears. Whenever I repeat I get the msg “Only a single instance of this application can run.”
Now no FLASH at all. What is the fix?

How to load flash movies in a "series"

Basically, I have 5 external swf movies.
I want to load them on another swf container one after
another, with the container being able to detect the last frame of
a certain movie and load the next randomly. I can load them easily
by individually assigning the length of each movie into the
container.
But the problem is that the external movies varies in lengh.
I want to be able to update an external movie and the container
would still be able to detect the last frame of it.
Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

i would create 2 arrays. one with the SWF names, and one with
interval times based on the length of the movies, then use a for
loop to load the movies into the container based on setInterval...
you can try using _totalframes if that is going to be to difficult,
but im not sure how successful that will be.

USB flash drive security on mac and windows

I've got an USB flash drive and I would like to secure it so that data on it will not be accessible unless a password is provided.
The point is that I need to use it on both my macbook with tiger OS and on another PC with windows XP.
The USB flash drive is a sandisk cruzer titanium that comes with U3. Originally I was using an U3 protection that asks for a password when the flash drive is plugged in.
U3 is not supported by MAC so I had to disable the password protection to use it on my brand new macbook.

know how well any of them use passwords for the

What I would recommend is using Winrar
(http://www.rarlabs.com/) and just using a compresses
and encrypted file that both OS's can manipulate.
With winrar you create an archive and then each time you want to edit a file you have to extract it, modify it and then reinsert it in the archive.
What I was looking for is something more user friendly.
Images created with mac, protected with a password, are ok but are not compatible with windows.
Viceversa, U3 is compatible with windows but not mac ...

I just tried a simple File load test and the type property always traces out null. According to the ASDocs, the type property: "On the Macintosh, this property is the four-character file type, which is only used in Mac OS versions prior to Mac OS X. If the FileReference object was not populated, a call to get the value of this property returns null.".
Further reading into the FileReference docs, all properties are supposed to be populated once the complete event fires and that is when I ran a trace of the File.type.
Since the is an AIR app, you might want to consider using the extension property instead to know the file extension to run a switch case against. The ASDocs also say that in reference to Mac's: "You should consider the creator and type properties to be considered deprecated. They apply to older versions of Mac OS.".
If you choose to use the extension property instead, you don't have to include the "." in your switch statement. The ASDocs do say that "If there is no dot in the filename, the extension is null." So, you may want to run some tests on Windows to make sure that "extension" works. On Mac OS, pretty much every user friendly file (image, movie, document, etc) has a file extension so you shouldn't have any concern of extension returning null on Mac OS.
You probably got the TypeError on Mac OS because you were trying to run a String method on a null object at the start of the switch statement.
