How to load Profit Center hierarchy from R3 to BW

Hi people,
Sorry, but I already saw some documentations here and I couldn´t solve my problem.
I need to load Profit Center Hierarchy from R3 to BW.
I already have the InfoSource 0PROFIT_CTR activated and I would like to know what are the steps to load the "Standard Hierarchy" that we have in the transaction KCH6N in R3.
I tried to create the Infopackage based on 0PROFIT_CTR_HIER and when I tryed to schedule, the system asked me the file name to put in the "external data", but I don´t have file to load, I need to load de hierarchy directly from R3.

U have to activate datasource 0PROFIT_CTR_0106_HIER in R/3 system and replicate that to BW.
And u should install standard transfer rules (0PROFIT_CTR_0106_HIER from BI CONTENT) in BW system.
Create infopackage to load hierarchy.. In Infopackage properties, 'Hierarchy Selection' tab, click 'Available Hierarchies from OLTP' and select ur profit center hierarchy.
There is no difference loading hierarchy data in BW 3.5 and BI 7.0

I had created a alternate profit center hierarchy in tcode kch5. I want to delete one profit center group, but system is not allowing me to delete the same.
I tried to delete the profit center group through tcode kch2 or kch3, but system is not allowing me to so, please help me know the procedure of the same.

Please select the profit centers under the group and remove first than delete the group.

Loading profit center hierarchy into 0plant

Hi,
I need to load 0proft_ctr hierarchy into 0plant. Can anyone please give me step by step solution ?
I have generated export datsource for 0profit_ctr.
Then I am creating transfer rules on exported datsource with 0plant. Here what infosource & datasource I have to assign ? profit center hierarchy datasource is not available.
Pleasse tell me if I am wrong and give me step by step solution.

How do I create a BW hierarchy from an R/3 profit center hierarchy?

I am trying to create a profit center hierarchy in BW using a profit center hierarchy from R/3. I know there is a way to do this, I just can't find the way.

Hi Aaron,
you have to activate the specific datasource 0PROFIT_CTR_0106_HIER in R/3 transaction RSA5. After doing this, replicate your source system in BW anf then assign the datasource to 0PROFIT_CTR infosource, create an infopackage and finally load your hierarchies !

We had a requirement of knowing the profit center hierarchy is been used in how many reports,is there any way to get these details.

1. In RSZRANGE table, enter info-object name on which hier is build and node (Hier Name) in LOW fields.
2. Copy field ELTUID in TELTUID field of table RSZELTXREF.
3. Copy SELTUID from table RSZELTXREF to ELTUID column of table RSZELTPRIO.
4. Add COMPUID from that table to RSRREPDIR.
In this table entries, you will be able to find all the queries which have used hier on that info-object.

I was getting data load error while loading profit center in BCS

Hi,
I was getting error message while i was loading profit center master data.The error message is the total 6 records were readed from the file 6 records contain parameter setting exceeded the user limitation of execution the data collection task"
Just i want to load Profit center into BCS.I have create method master data upload,where i have specified fields layout as below

Controling area
Fiscal Year
Posting Period
Data Row
Profit Cneter
When i execute Flexible upload and method where i was getting error message saying the 6 recors are ignored
My flat files is in this format

Please some one advise me how to load it into BCS.

I was following Eugene Blog for flexible update master data.I have create the way you have specififed in the document.
I have created Method to upload Profit center and try to load the data where i am getting error.
I am loading attributes,but not hierachy.I am not understanding why i am not able to load flat file profit center master data into BCS.
The error is "

Diagnosis
A total of 7 data records were read from file C:\Documents and
     Settings\Laxmikant.dube\Desktop\P. Of those, 7 records contain parameter
     settings that exceed the user limitations for executing the data
     collection task.
System response
The ignored records were not checked any further and will not be
     written.
Procedure
Make sure that the ignored records are irrelevant for the current task.
     If some of the ignored records were supposed to be written, then the
file probably contains an error.
In this case, closely examine the settings for the fields Version,
Fiscal Year, Period, Group Currency, and Consolidation Units in the
file.
If you have more than one characteristic with the role consolidation
unit (a socalled "matrix organization"), also check whether the settings
in the ignored records refer to valid combinations of consolidation
units.

The current data row contains for characteristic Controlling area the
     value 2000,2008,8. But the maximum length for values of this
     characteristic is only 4 characters.
System response

Procedure
Check if the string "2000,2008,8" is indeed supposed to be interpreted
     as the value of characteristic Controlling area. If this is the case,
     avoid exceeding the maximum length for this characteristic.
However, if there has been a mix-up, compare the structure of the file
with the definition in the upload method. If variable column widths are
used, particularly pay attention to the number of field separators in
the data row involved.

Once the Cost Centre Hierarchy is Created, it can be used in Profit Centre Reports.
Choose Financials -> Cost Accounting -> Profit Center Report ->Template.
Here Choose, the Cost Centre Hierarchy the you had created and generate the report.

When you are on selection screen of FBL5N, press (Shift + F4) DYNAMIC SELECTIONS, there you will see a Dynamic selection screen along with your normal FBL5N selection screen, you will find Profit Centre ther, if you don't find Profit Centre in Dynamic Selection Screen you can add the same from the list on the left, search for profit centre, place your cursor on Profit centre and press the Arrow Button(Copy Selected) on top of the list. Now you will find Prfit Centre in Dynamic selection screen, fill the field with values and press save, that's it.....

Hi Eric,
No standard tool exists for this operation. However, if you really prefer to do it manually, you can pull a trick. You can export your cost centre hierarchy to TXT file, correct there certain parameters (change BCCSS to BGLPCT, etc.) and then import it as profit centre hierarchy.

Structure view "Profit center hierarchy" for Information system

Hi Experts
The structure view "Profit center hierarchy" is not available in standard system. I have created a new key with assignement of PS Hierarchy type '2'.
But iam getting below message when I use this new structure view:
Alternative hierarchy could not be determined
Message no. OK032
Diagnosis
You attempted to structure your project elements according to an alternative hierarchy (profit center, cost center or summarization hierarchy). The alternative hierarchy could not be read.
System Response
The system uses the "Work breakdown structure" view.
Any suggestion?

Ok lets start from basics
go to CN41 and enter a project with std PS info profile 000000000000001
if you click o the DB profile you will have basic setting 000000000000001 etc
this gives us the project structure
Now in transaction OPUR create a view for PC hierarchy
Z00000000001 - whatever description
select PS hier type 2 - Profit Ctr via set
I think you have done this
In this configuration there is a group name - you need to enter the profit centre hierarchy group name from your system
this group must exist in your system check using transaction KCH3 to display group - if this is not entered correctly you will get the exact error you have got - I have been able to replicate in my system
Now run CN41 change DB profile project view from 00000000001 to Z0000000001

While maintaining controlling area in OKKP in right bottom there are two tick boxes for Cost center and Profit center.Click on that .While creating standard hierarchy sytem will create alternate hierarchy side by side.

As you would for any other infoobject
Activate the business content hierarchy datasources on R3 for cost centre and profit centre
Go into BW - replicate the metadata
Then just connect via transformations or transfer rules the datasources to yoru infosources or master data objects
Create an infopackage per hierarchy!!!!! - press the button available hirachies from OLTP - click the one you want on the left - fire it off
Then repeat new infopackages for all hierachies
