How to loan my iPhone but retain privacy?

Friends will occasionally need to borrow my iPhone to make a call, check their email via the web, etc. I want to prevent them from reading my email. I can temporarily turn my email account off but it would be easy for them to turn it back on. Any suggestions on how I can retain my email privacy (conveniently)?
A nice feature would be to passcode protect access to the settings icon!

Oddly enough my sweetheart offered me a Pacifico just last week. I liked it.
Even though I don't have anything incriminating for prying eyes, everyone has a few legitimate secrets. But I see it as really more just a privacy issue. Perhaps I let too many people use my phone. But it's much more than a phone. Friend's kids, while just looking, will want to download a game. I usually let them and now I have stash of a dozen or so games, which leads to a little more borrowing. To them it's a gaming device. To me it's my email, contacts, IM conversations, and personal information. I just want to keep that stuff private but share all the other cool stuff.

If you forget your passcode there is only one way to remedy the situation.
Put your phone in recovery mode and restore the device using iTunes.

How to replace background music but retain sound effects

I am trying to add/replace the background music of a series of clips that all have sound effects. I noticed that many of the sound effects carry over into the other channels. I am using the 5.1 preset currently. Ideally I would like to add a song to this series where the music and sound effects can heard appropriately from all channels.
Is this possible in FCP? Do I need to use Soundtrack instead?

That isn't SPLIT track...that is a 5.1 mix. There's a difference. The audio is mixed, and elements are in all the tracks, but less in some and more in others.
SPLIT TRACK is something that we do on the high end deliverable stage, so that other departments that use what we deliver can use only the audio elements they need. PROMOS for example (that I also cut), would like to have DIALOG separate, SFX separate and music separate. So we can use our own music. We would like clean dialog and SFX. If we are given a 5.1 mix, we cannot use it, as it is not split tracked.
Your source is a fully mixed project...the audio files are not separate. music, effects and dialog are all mixed...you cannot separate them. Not unless you request a split track master from the company that produced the spot you are using.

You should be able to switch your number to another phone by logging in to your Verizon account online and finding the "Activate Device" option.

Go to settings>messages>send and receive at>you can be reached by iMessages at> Uncheck your phone number and you can select your Apple ID emal address if you want to use that for messages.

Providing your Apple ID is not a .me or a .Mac address, you can change it with Apple and continue to use your account.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
Once who have done this you can then correct it on your mobile device.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
If however, your Apple ID was a .me or a .Mac address, then you will need to create a new account, follow the instructions above for deleting your account on your mobile device and then tap the "create Apple ID" button to create a new account.

I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

It doesn't sound like you "changed" your Apple ID, sounds like you created a new one. Bad idea. All content bought with an Apple ID is forever tied to that ID. The ID that bought the content is the only ID that can update the content. Apple does not merge IDs not does Apple transfer content from one ID to another.
