Hi as you can see from the subject box I have had my Ipad stolen in a house burglary, I did not activate the "find my Ipad" as I had only had it a couple of weeks! You can't. If you had set up MobileMe / Find My iPad on it before it was stolen then you could try locating it either via me.com on a computer or Find My iPhone / Find My iPad on a another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or MobileMe disabled on it.
Apart from that you should report it to the police, and as a safety precaution you should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

The single row I'm speaking of goes across the full width of the iPad but is interrupted by the Lightning connector. Here's an ASCII example:
iPad Air 2

O= Lightning connector

I mentioned them as being rows and not columns because with a single row as with the Air 2, there are no columns when viewed horizontally...if viewed vertically, the rows will of course turn into columns.
