How to lock 2012 webforms and open 2013 webforms

Hi,
Running 11.1.2.1 and i want to lock the 2012 webforms to the users as the cycle is over and want to open the 2013 webforms. For now, i locked the the 2012 webforms manually. But the 2013 forms seems to be locked as well.
Could someone help me out here.

Hi,
Assuming classic planning application, browse to "Scenario" dimension.
Select the scenario(budget) for which you need to open data and click on edit.
In Edit scenario select the start year for the scenario and the end year for scenario.
Now the data entry only for this span would be open.

I thought so too, but I have not managed to get it to work. I was only playing around with "new features" (as we recently upgraded to 9.3.1.) nothing that required production intensive research.

How to pop up "save" and "open" window - Help with construct xml

In my report there is a column link which is pointing to another HTML page that has xml data displayed in a textarea field. So when user clicks on the column link, he gets to directed to the page that have the xml data in text format.
My question is, how can i make the xml data display as a file, so when the user clicks on the column link, a window with "save" and "open" will pop up so the user can save the xml data as a file?
Has anyone done something similar like this? any help is appreciated!

Migrate to Windows 2012 R2 and Exchange 2013 SP1 using database portability

Hi, I'm planning to migrate from Exchange 2013 SP1 running on Windows 2012 to Exchange 2013 SP1 on Windows 2012 R2.
Is it possible to use database portability to move the databases from the exchange installation on win 2012 to the new installation on Win 2012 R2? This would save a great deal of time not doing the mailbox moves.
I've searched similar cases but couldn't find any, all speak about disaster recovery and database portability but I've found no articles that uses the migration scenario.
Would it be possible to do and if so, what would the steps be? Do I need to delete the database from the source server, move the database files to the new server and mount them and relocate the mailboxes? Or should I dismount the database on the source server,
move them to the new server and mount them and relocate the mailboxes?

According to your description, I recommend you consider using DAG to achieve your requirement.
The following steps for your reference:
1.Prepare a new server which installed windows 2012 R2 for Exchange 2013 mailbox server.
2.After you deploy Exchange 2013 Mailbox servers, you can create a DAG, add Mailbox servers to the DAG, and then replicate mailbox databases between the DAG members.
3.After replication, you can mount all the databases on the new server.

There are two thread, they read the same row, I want to lock this row when the first thread read the record, after this thread commit its data, release the lock, the second thread can lock this record, also can commit its data. I also want to know how to release the lock. And these operations are in different Classes, e.g. in Class A first thread lock the record, in Class B second lock the record, and in Class C release the lock.
Note: these two thread will read this record at same time.

TopLink provides to forms of locking, optimistic and pessimistic.

You are referring to pessimistic. You can use pessimistic locking in TopLink through the ReadObject/ReadAllQuery API acquireLocks(), or acquireLocksWithoutWaiting(), this will use a "Select ... for Update" in SQL. You must be in a transaction to lock a row in the database (UnitOfWork in TopLink), and you locks are released when you commit or rollback the transaction. If you are using JPA, TopLink supports a JPA query hint "toplink.pessimistic-lock"="Lock" to allow pessimistic locking.

You can also use optimistic locking. An optimistic lock does not prevent another user from reading the same row, but ensures that only one user will be able to commit changes to the row. Optimistic locking typically has the advantage of better concurrency, and does not have issues with deadlocks.

SCCM 2012 SP1 and Exchange 2013 Connector Get-Recipient cmdlet failed

I have been trying to get my Exchange Connector working with SCCM 2012 SP1 for a week or so now. Every post tells me that the Get-Recipient cmdlet failed is a security permissions error. I have given the service account running the connector full Exchange
Server Management rights including Recipient Management and Organization View-Only. I have even tested remote power shell to the CAS server and run the cmdlet with no issues.
For some reason it just does not want to work for me. Has anyone been running into this issue?

Now before you read the following error and say oh this is a permission issue I am telling you it is not. I have given the account full Exchange admin rights and I have even tested the Get-Recipient cmdlet remotely to the Exchange server and it works with
no issues. I have also noticed multiple forum posts with the exact same issues.

I believe this issue may be related to changes in the powershell commands with Exchange 2013, but I do not know where or how to edit the ps1 script.

DPM 2012 SP1 and SharePoint 2013 on a SQL 2012 AlwaysOn AG

I am trying to protect a new SharePoint Foundation 2013 farm with it's databases stored on an SQL 2012 AlwaysOn Availability Group. I've run configureSharePoint.exe -EnableSharePointProtection on my WFE and SharePoint shows up in DPM when I try to
add it to a protection group. But I get the 32008 referenced here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970641 when trying to select the farm to back up.
If I run ConfigureSharePoint.exe -resolveallSQLAliases on the WFE it doesn't return anything.
I'm directly backing up databases on the SQL 2012 server, but not any of the SharePoint DBs.

I'm having some trouble understanding what I'm seeing in the writer output from the WFE server. Specifically the machine names that the writer is reporting.
If you look in the wfewtiters.txt, What is the machine that ends in 02 ? Is that a physical machine or an alias ?
The machine ending in 06 is the Secondary SQL Server and that is what the Sharepoint writer is pointing to.
The WFE VSS Sharepoint writer shows this for two content DB’s

First step is set the SCREEN TYPE as "Modal Dialog Box" in screen property tab.
Then in PBO of the popup screen take a new GUI status and select DIALOG BOX as status type.
Then assign some function code in 'X' button say 'CANCEL'.

If you didn't make a backup copy of your project, you may be in for a bit of work. It's generally not as simple as just opening the project in the older version.
Have you posted here with the issues you are seeing with version 11 to see if they might be easily overcome?
