How to lock a period in Essbase but the app is Planning app?

Hi!
I am using Planning v11.1.1.3 and have a Planning app.
The requirement is that user can read/write data directly to Essbase via Smartview. I lock a particular period, e.g. Oct, in Scenario dimension so the user cannot write data to Oct in Planning, but how do stop user to write data to Oct via Smartview?
The user has 'Server Access' for Essbase, 'Interactive User' and 'Analytic Services Write Access' for Planning.
If I create a additional filter to lock 'Oct' in Essbase, it seems the user can still write to 'Oct'.
Appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this.

First Smartview is 2 things. Its a planning interface and an Essbase interface.
So users can access Planning forms and still have the right security. I assume you mean users are interfacing Essbase directly to the same cube that is your planning cube so basically bypassing Planning that controls things
you can push the filters from Planning to Essbase but Planning controls the periods from the scenario. And If I remember correctly this is not passed to Essbase.
So your options are 1
1) dont let users access Essbase directly and force them to use Planning forms in Smartview
2) don't push Planning security filters to Essbase and try to replicaate all the security again in Essbase. But the tools is not design for this and refreshing will wipe out all your hardwork so be very very careful
3) push Oracle/Hyperion to finally fix the way they do security to make it more unified process once and for all

So there are several things that you can do using Server side actionscript.
1) You can restrict the number of publishers. You can keep a count of number of publishers via the application.onPublish() function and disconnect users after a particular count is reached. I got my iphone stolen right out of my bag and I am assuming there is no way of retrieving the phone back unless I have the Find My Iphone app? It is not an app. It is a feature of icloud and iphone. Did you set it up on the iphone itself BEFORE it was stolen? If not, then you cannot track it at all.
Change your passwords and report it to the police.

How to lock historical periods and want to open current month to write

we are having Aso cube, and we need to lock historical periods and need to open the current month for the users for write. and also need to lock scenario. can any one suggest me how to do this?

I thought so too, but I have not managed to get it to work. I was only playing around with "new features" (as we recently upgraded to 9.3.1.) nothing that required production intensive research.

How to "lock" down a few clips at the end of a timeline

I'm working on an edit and the last several clips have all been edited into place and timed perfectly. I'm working backwards from the end. How in the world can I keep those last several clips from moving? With the magnetic timeline every time I try to do anything they want to move. Even with the position arrow. I've put them in their own storyline but the still move. They are connected to the primary storyline as that's the main thing.
Seems weird there is no way to lock them in place. Maybe I am just missing something.

This is just wrong.
Otherwise I have to work to make things not happen in the primary storyline.
Like every other editing application. Every one has a default video and audio track. It doesn't mean everything has to go on those tracks. It doesn't even mean most of your material has to go on those tracks. Yes, you have to do something to make edits to some other layer or storyline.
We're not going to agree on this. I'll tell you how I think you should use the application, but you can use it however you like.

What iPod model does she own? If it's a Nano, simply connect it to iTunes and restore it.
If it's an iPod touch, you will need to connect to iTunes in Recovery Mode and restore it using the instructions in this Apple support document.

How can I change my iTunes Store to the USA, so my apps will update? Dialog says my account is not valid in the Canadian store, switch to US. But it won't let me do it.

My app updates in iPad won't install, when I hit update, it says my account is not valid in the Canadian store, and I must switch to the US store before purchasing. So, I sign out of Canadian store, and try to sign into US store, and that won't work either.
It says my Apple ID is not valid in the US store, but it must be, because that's where I made my purchases of all those apps in the first place.
Is it possible I am missing something here? Is this my fault? Can anybody offer a suggestion as to why I cannot sign into USA store?

We do have a place in the UK which we could use as an address, but for various reasons it gets a bit complex even though we still have a UK bank account. We moved to France when there were no iDevices and apps around, just bought the occasional music, so it wasn't a problem. Funny thing is I can't even download the free UK bank app because it's not available in the French store .
I'll live with the problem for now as we plan to move back to the UK in a year or so - we miss the weather .

How can I get Skinnable -Popup-Container in the center of my app?

I have a component based on SkinnablePopUpContainer. I am using 4.5.1 sdk.
I need to pop it up on the very center of my application.
But the open() does not give any parameters as such to specify that.
Sample code for showing popup is:
var popup: MyCustomPopUp = new MyCustomPopUp ();
popup.open( the name of my project file ,true);
                                                            popup.verticalCenter =0;
                                                            popup.horizontalCenter =0;
Even after mentioning the verticalCenter and horizontalCenter as 0, the popup opens automatically on the left hand side of the screen.
If I use PopUpManager class then it works fine.But for my mobile application, I dont want to use PopUpManager Class.
Please suggest a solution for this.

Filling in the Album Artist will fix things most of the time, though if you also have an older iPod then you might find the album splits up again on your device. For more information see my article on Grouping tracks into albums.

Csoud1 is correct. But if you still want to keep your iTunes Match subscribed and did not want to sync with your iOS devices, do the following:
On you iOS devices, just go to Setting > Music > disable iTunes Match

How to manage a childs Ipod touch but still let them download apps without

I have a son and daughter that are getting a ipod touch tomorrow or Friday depending when I get all the controls set in place so I have a few questions and if I post in the wrong forum then mods please move them to the proper forums if necessary. I am new to the forums and this will be my first post. Here we go.
My Kids and I have always shared our music on our previous ipods which weren't touch ipods so we need to be able to share the music but I need to figure out a way they can share the music and still be able to download free applications and games and some paid stuff as well with their own Itunes money but I need to do all this without compromising my itunes password which will be needed to download the content from what I've seen by playing with the ipod touches they will get while I've been setting them up.
Is this possible for them to share music but have their own application account or can I give them child accounts kind of like the xbox live where I can control them from downloading unless they have me present ?
I do have one child that lives with her mom in the next town over and this is going to be a problem as we move forward because she will want access to the music as we move forward but its my understanding if we have the same account we sync off of that we can share apps as well , is this true or not ?
If we keep my daughter on my account is there a way that she can share the music and have it on her computer at home without compromising my itunes cash loaded onto my account or my credit card info as well ?
There are so many avenues and possibilities that it's hard to kind of network all these ideas into reality so thats why I turned to the forums where the power users are.
If anyone can point me in the right direction this would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the discussions,
you can handle the app installation on each device by using the Restriction settings of the ipod touch. For example if you disable the app installation, the icon will not be visible and no apps can be installed using iTunes, as the program pane will be grayed out as well.

You can set up each device differently on one computer and iTunes will remember the settings.
Apps only work with the account you used buying them and can't be shared.
