How to lock apps with a passcode.?

I am asking for the apps like whats app , facebook ,etc. and for normal messages also. In android there is separate app called apps lock which it allows to lock everything with passcode or pattern lock. Like that is it available in iTunes..?

Sorry, there is no way to do what you want on a non-jailbroken iPhone. Your only choice is to passcode lock the whole phone.

No app on the iPod is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or conbtinue to show off-line.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

- If not shown/shown off, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.

or set up restrictions for different apps in Settings/General/Restrictions. Restricted apps will not be visible on the phone. But if you forget the restriction code, you'll have to set up your phone as new device.

No, you can't prevent people from trying to guess the code. However, it will take longer between each attempt, i.e. it will be disabled for 1 minute, 15, an hour... so it would take him a while to completely disable it.

ugh- My son left his ipod in a friends car. I remote locked it with another ipod. I entered "1234" as the passcode (stupid me?) and when we got it back it says invalid and keeps locking us out. Besides logging out of your iTunes account on your iPhone after doing so, no.
Or just download all apps with iTunes on your computer followed by transferring the apps to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process, or with iCloud enabled you can set it up so after downloading an app with iTunes on your computer the app will be downloaded by your iPhone as well without having to sync.

This is not working for me. I synced to my computer first, then I did the upgrade on my iphone 4. Once the upgrade completed, my phone got an apple symbol with a line under it, and it is just frozen. I tried to sync back to my computer 3 times, and each time, it stops on step 3/4 for the sync. Under the apps, it says something like 'searching for apps to load.' It freezes there for hours. I waited 7 hours the first time, woke up, did it again and 11 hours later, come home from work, stuck on the same screen again. I restarted itunes, and it will not even let me press the sync button. It is like the sync button is already clicked, and it says - 'loading device.' It has been stuck on that for hours.
I am so disappointed with this 'update.' My phone worked fine yesterday. Can somebody tell me what to do to get my phone to work again? I do not even care if I keep the update or not. Because of our customer now has 2 main central offices, and all other sub branches are now connected to each of these main central office via one primary full-meshed MPLS VPN of 1st Service Provider, so If I use the float static routes, and when there is a failure at one link at a CENTRAL CE Router to primary link to primary MPLS VPN Service Provider, but still there is no failure at the other site from a router CE sub branch with the the PE of the primary full-meshed MPLS VPN Layer 3 Service Provider,so It cannot cause a failover to a second redundant link of the 2nd Service Provider?
So with our system, do we only have one solution like this:
-Configure BGP as the routing protocol between the CE and the PE routers.
-Use local preference and Multi Exit Discriminator (MED) when running BGP inside a our customer VPN to select the primary and backup links.
-Use AS-override feature to support overlapping AS numbers between customer sites

i need to download my payed apps with an idm because with internet download manager my speed doubles up but with itunes i have problems of low speed and long time to download apps ?

I agree that this is silly, I'm with 3UK and get completely unlimited data on my Tariff.
It's a pain having to find a WiFi point just to download an app. Especially when sometimes, my 3G is faster than some public WiFi points
Another silly thing is the fact that when I'm out with a Mate, I can tether to his iPhone and download apps via WiFi over his 3G connection
WiFi/3G dongles also work. But that's beside the point
Maybe if they gave you a warning before downloading.
ie. "This application exceeds 50MB. do you wish to download using your dataplan or later via WiFi"

How to lock apps from being copied/stolen

I haven't put much thought into this before but had a few other Techs. ask me about this.
Is there away to lock down applications from being copied.
For example, how to stop a user from simply dragging MS Office to a thumb drive then take home with them.
I know some apps put the SN# and such info in the library's but this is not hard to get around. A lot of apps are just drag drop apps.
Is there not a way?

AFAIK, there's no way to prevent this. Even if you installed the applications on a Mac OS X 10.4 Server volume and used ACLs (Access Control Lists), there's no ACL permission that allows Read while prohibiting "copy." What can be read can be copied, so merely using Read permissions generally won't prevent copying.
You can read about ACLs in the PDF document Mac OS X Server 10.4 File Services (Manual).
This is why so many third-party applications are employing "activation" and "phone home" technologies to assure the license is both valid and running on the computer on which it was originally installed. As one can see from reviewing the information on software piracy published by the Business Software Alliance, these methods are still being circumvented, but they are getting better.
If piracy is an issue in your firm, it should vigorously enforce an anti-piracy "condition of employment," i.e. if someone is found to be stealing apps, they should be fired both immediately and publicly, the latter to set an example that the firm has zero tolerance for piracy.

When you installed these applications, did you install them to the system-wide shared Applications folder or the private Applications folder belonging to your own user account?
Most applications that come with installers will install themselves in the system Applications folder (after asking for an administrator password). Some will ask where they should be installed. Microsoft Office uses an installer; as I recall, it does ask whether it should be available to just you or to everybody with an account on your system.
Applications that you install by dragging go wherever you drag them. Some even provide a shortcut (alias) to your system Applications folder for you to drag them into.

How to enable iPad with right passcode after entering wrong passcode 6 times

Hi, my iPad is disabled because my daughter entered wrong passcode more than 6 times. I do remember the passcode myself.
How can I enable the iPad without wiping everything? I do not see an option to enter passcode anywhere. I never backed up my iPad. When I connect the iPad to iTunes, it keeps on giving the message that respond on iPad. But the iPad only shows that iPad is disabled.
Find my iPad is also not enabled.
I recently upgraded the OS to iOS 8.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

Are any of your really going to argue in favor of the requirement that you sync with one itunes account on one computer? If so, please enlighten me as to why this is a great idea. I love the iPad but hate that it is permanently tethered to itunes. In fact, the thing will not work without an itunes account. This is one reason I don't have an iphone and stick with android. The android acts as its own hard drive. It's very simple to save, backup and swap files with any computer.
But back to the issue at hand, what if one doesn't backup? Or if they did, the file was corrupt or the media they backed it to crashes? The fact that the ipad cannot stand on its own is ridiculous. By the way, I did restore my itunes folder but still get that notification that my ipad will be erased. I'm sure though that I've added some apps since the last sync. Are they going to be there when my ipad gets wiped out? How does one know what has been saved?
I love Apple products for its hardware but hate the software and all the control they have over it. If I lose my apps, then so be it. If there is any way around this, please let me know.

Question: How to update app with a new version with new SQLite tables?

We're updating an application in the App Store, and haven't yet found good information on how to deal with updates to the SQLite Schema and data that should be transferred between apps.
Anyone successfully done this?
Q1: Does the old DB files stay on the iPhone after update? Does the installer do a "diff" between them? In our case, we just extended tables, rather than changing them, in hope that we can successfully move the data for users gracefully.
Q2: If the installer does in fact wipe all the data and files on the app before install, is there a way to access the data before it updates, so the app can gracefully update the data?
