How to maintain Message Class Version?

Pls do let me know how to maintain the version of a message class and how to revert back the changes made to a message class.

Hello Alok,
1. Message class does not any version concept.
2. Its always online and latest.!
As per my understanding, SYstem is not maintaining the version of the message class becuase, you can edit one or any messages from the message class.
All messages are stored in table T100, and this table is also not activated for "Log
data changes".

Ricky : You can try in one way. You can try by finding the TR's involved for the message objects.
Goto Se03 and try with search for objects in Requests and F8. In the next screen you can specify the Prog ID & Obj ID
for eg: R3TR MSAG ..etc and give the name of the messge class you are trying to find.
If previous transport exist, it will bring up that one in the next screen. You can thereafter goto that TR and check the message logs of the Message class exits in that TR version.

Hi Kiran,
See here the System Version are entirely different. The one is 4.6C and other is ECC 6.0. See there will not be any link between 4.6 and ECC. When we will do SCC1 means the same system divided in to 2 clients means
100 is development and 200 is the testing system..
All the things you made in 100 will be there in 200 system. But the system depenended data you need to pass by doing theSCC1.

Implementing Note 836401. How to create message class 'Z'?

I'm trying to implement SAP Note 836401 -" FBCJ: Receipt print with display not allowed " In SAP ERP 6.0.    Could somebody help me please with action in this note:
"You must then adjust the error class 'Z' to your error class and replace the error number '000' with the error number of the message you created." I have some misunderstanding - What I must to do here? In SE91 i can't find message class 'Z' and I can't to create it there, because of the rule:    name of message class   must minimum 2 characters.
In correction of object :"R3TR REPS MFCJ0F01" of this note, in source code I'm facing strings:

The SAP note says that you should look for an appropriate Z-message class having a message (i.e. number) with the required text.
Alternatively, you may use the following approach:
    CHECK sy-subrc NE 0.
    ld_no_auth = 'X'.                            "no authorization
     MESSAGE ID '00' TYPE 'I' NUMBER 208 WITH 'Sie haben keine Berechtigung, Quittungen zu drucken'.
"     MESSAGE ID 'Z' TYPE 'I' NUMBER 000.

You create and edit Message Class using Transaction SE91. Once you have created a message, you can use it in the MESSAGE statement in a program.
All messages are stored in table T100.
Creating Message Classes
To create a new message class from the ABAP Editor:
 1. In the initial statement (for example, REPORT) or directly in the statement MESSAGE ID <id> enter a parameter value of up to 20 characters as a message ID, for example:
 REPORT <name> MESSAGE-ID <message class>.
 Messages are stored system-wide. The chosen message ID (message class) must not already exist in the system.
 2. Double-click the message ID.
 If you enter an ID that already exists in the system, the system calls up Message maintenance. In this case, enter a different ID. Once you have done this, the system asks you whether you want to create a new message class.
 3. Choose Yes.
 The system calls up Message maintenance.
 4. Enter a brief description of the class in Short text.
 5. Choose Save.

How to change message class selected for validation ?

Dear all,
For testing, I have created a new validation (applic. area : FI, Callup point:2) with a existing message class (/EACA/BTA_GL).
But now, I would like to create a new validation for the same application area and callup point, but with another message class (that I have created with Z_...).
But unfortunately, I cannot choose another message class when I create a new validation.
Could you help me ?

To change the message class of a callup point please use program
RGUGBR28 (description in SAP note 6975). After making the change,
generate the coding with program RGUGBR00 for the application (without
marking the last two checkboxes).

while creating SWCV you can enter ther version of the SWCV which you are creating.
Namespace will be under particular SWCV . So no version of name space

Message class creation

Can any body tell me how to creat message class and also the message numbers in the class.
like in message class F2 the message number is 273 for giving error message if find the same VAT registration number during creation of customer master.

F2 is standard message class. Dont change the standard. (SE91) Copy the F2 into Z.... Save the new message class. Inside the message class,Message number 000 to 999 is display. Here add your own messages.

Message Class for Validaton

Hello,
How do I set up a message class for Validation? When I am selecting Proj Defn and clicking on Validation, I see the message id field greyed out.The message id is auto populated as /SAPDMC/LSMW_AUX_030 and I am unable to change it.
Also when I go to WBS level this message class in not populated.However in drop down I dont see the option of "Z" messgae class which I have defined with customised message.
Please let me know your thoughts on how we change message class and why "Z" message class is not seen n dropdown?

Hi,
When you click on Validation, System will pop up a window which will say Configure Message ID. In that window Click on Create Icon. It will goto SE91. Enter the Name of message class(Ex: ZPROJECT) and click on create. It will goto "Message maintenance: Change Message class" screen. There Click on SAVE button. System will ask you a Package, ask your abaper, he will tell u the package.
By using this message class you can create the Validation.

How to maintain long texts in different languages in a message class

I have maintained a message and its transaltions in some other languages in a custom message class. I have maintined the long text in English language. But I am not getting how to maintain the long text in other languages.

In the message class corresponding to that message give the place holders &&&&.
Like 001 &&&&
in the program.
Message <class>001 with text-001 text-002 text-003 text-004.
then you could disply long text.translation takes place if u enter in different language automatically.

Issue in maintaining Long Text in Message Class

For Note implementation 1413492, I have to maintain long text, when I click on Long Text , I get a pop-up Create Modification , with 2 options for Template Type (1) Original Text (2) Template (With Headers)
Can anyone let me know how to proceed further, whatever name I give for the Modification, I am getting Error Message saying 'Enhancement Name violates the namespace convention (Note 989653)', I have tried unchecking the Self Explanatory check box as well, but still I get the same error message.
Below is the Long text I have to maintain class FR, message number 533

Note:
The name of the modification object must start with:
o 'Z'/'Y', or
o the customer namespace available in the system (TRNSPACE table).
Otherwise, message 645 will appear because the SAP namespace is not
permitted.
My suggestion would be to start the name with a Z.

How to Maintain Translation of texts of Exception Class

I have an exception class ZCX_CHECK . I have maintained a text in the text tab of the exception class
like No components Exists in Package &PACKAGE_NAME&
PACKAGE_NAME is the Attribute . How do I maintain Translation of the TEXT. When I navigate like Goto->Translation , it is saying Empty Object list.
When I maintain text elements and give text-001 in the text tab of the exception class , the ouptu is coming as text-001 in the Report .
How do I amintain translation , or how can I integrate a message class with an exception class .I know where to metion messsage class . But how do I use it inside exception class

Let me rephrase this: When entering a text in your Exception class it will be automatically part of the OTR. You can check this by looking this up in SOTR_EDIT.Press the binoculars button (Find), and search on package (development class).
Now via SE63: Translation->ABAP Objects->Short texts
open node OT on pop-up and double click on Subnode.Enter a * on screen for Object name and press F4. Now enter collection (package / development) class. Select the text to be translated.
BTW: Via SOTR_EDIT you can retrieve the logical key (field concept) which is needed for translation. Select the GUID (logical key / concept) from SOTR_EDIT.

You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.
