How to make a circular camera path

Hi All,
If I use Orbit Camera Tool, it creates a linear camera trajectory. How can I create a circular one? I need camera to move around an object smoothly, but not as a series of linear paths.
I could add vertices to a path and edit it manually, but, probably, there is a simpler way of doing that.
Please advise.

Depends on what camera you have - to stop iPhoto form launching go to the iPhoto preferences and set action when a camera is connected to do nothing
Some cameras mount to the desktop and some do not - for example few if any Cannon cameras mount - most Sony do - depends on the manufacture and how they implemented things

How to make an untwisted camera profile available in LR 4.4?

I have downloaded dcpTool from http://dcptool.sourceforge.net and generated the untwisted versions of all the Nikon D700 related camera profiles (Adobe Standard, Camera Standard, etc.) that come with LR 4.4. Since the structure of the camera profile filenames seem to be important, for each file I kept the original name but added a distinction to its end (e.g. Nikon D700 Camera Standard UT.dcp).
According to the information I have collected, 'installation' of these profile versions would be as easy as copying them into the same directories where the original profiles are. Unfortunately LR 4.4 does not bring them up in the Camera Calibration module.
How should I 'install' these profiles?

I changed to LR recently. So far I have used only the Adobe Standard profile, but I am not very pleased with it. A few days ago I started fiddling with other D700 profiles, without any convincing color rendering improvement. This is the reason for entering the camera profiling world.
As my username reflects, I am a hobbyshooter. Most of my pictures are taken when travelling (landscapes and cityscapes) but I also shoot at family events and parties.
You have made me even more curious about the ColorChacker based profiles. I hope they will solve my main problems: skin color, the vivid reds of Nikon, and the formerly mentioned hue twist. Nevertheless, I am afraid that finding the right color rendering balance for my typical environments (particularly for indors with totally mixed lighting) will not be easy...
I am also thinking of reprocessing roughly two thousand pictures, taken years ago with D200 and D300. Do you have any suggestion how to get nice 'generic' profiles for the given camera+lens combos, which I do not have these days, so creating their profiles with ColorChecker is out of the question for me?

How to make smart album from path photos

This maybe noob question.
So I'm trying to make smart album for all of my Path's photos stored in my iPhoto library, but I find it difficult to determine proper filter.
I have tried to make smart album from instagram's, with this: Any Text - contains - instagram
But it doesn't work for path photos.
Can anyone here give me any clue? Thank in advance

Yeah, I understand. I have to put the keyword first, the problem is sometimes I transfer almost around 800 photos at once. I haven't had much time to sort every photos and put the keyword on every Path photo. Beside so many photos in my library, and not well-organized. Also I have tried any possibilities of relevant criteria in smart album. But still zero result.
So, before I actually take the time to organize my thousands of photos manually, I was thinking maybe there's another way, simple and smart one, with this smart album feature. Anyone?

How to make a clean spiral path in cs5

I have Photoshop CS5 Extended at work and am lucky to have it. (no hope of getting CS6 or any other Adobe products at the moment). Is there a technique or script to make a clean spiral (with a path--so I can apply a brush stroke) in CS5 WITHOUT using the shape tool spiral preset? I have learned one technique but it involves many steps and it is difficult to manage the correct size to the ratio of the curve of the spiral and it is not a path. Any direction would be appreciated.

As to why this is so difficult on OSX (as Cinthy asks), I've often wondered the same, and wondered why this seemingly simple feature hasn't been included on release after release of OSX. Well, I decided to stop expecting Apple to do something, and ponder their thought process, instead. I believe Apple doesn't like (hates) its users seeing a file path. They don't even want users thinking of the idea of a file system at all. This is the design philosophy of a company that's focused on consumer products-- and if the merging of OSX and iOS is any indication (Yosemite moves closer to this than any release so far, and reveals Apples future intentions), then I wouldn't expect to ever see this feature in any future release of OSX either. iOS and consumer devices are dictating the future of OSX, and unless we're willing to get geeky with automator solutions and such, this distinction (out-of-the-box, at least), will keep Windows dominating work environments, and OSX dominating consumer environments (at least such is Apple's goal and focus). Just my 2c..

We have a Microsoft Terminal Server farm which we're using to host virtual desktops. We can connect to it and use it fine for most of our purposes using any of the standard RDP clients out there but none of them appear to enable us to access the iPad camera (either) from within the virtual desktop on the terminal server e.g. passthrough via a virtual channel. Audio - check, printers - check,.. camera: not so much.... Anyone have any tips / experience setting this up or is this just technically not possible with the setup we've got?

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files from a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.

How to make a gradient on two paths

Hello,
I am fairly new to Illustrator, although have used Photoshop, Fireworks and DW to some degree in the past.
In CS4, I am trying to make a country map with different counties or states. Using the map of the UK and including Wales, Scotland, and some of the counties as an example. I need to portray the whole country, but only highlight a specific part of the land, along a train line and so quickly fade away to almost transparent in the further edges.
Using the pen tool I have traced the country and county borders as paths. I then used the fill tool to make each country, or sea, a different colour. Now I want to fade the edges of my map away to transparent to bring attention to the middle. I have drawn another path on top and beyond the edge of the artwork and tried to make a transparency overlay and gradient in this path to make it fade to the edges. However, this does not work as I had hoped for three reasons.
1) the darkest edge of my 'fade path' does not blend into the country below but is quite an obvious line.
2) the gradient is a different colour as it sits on top of other paths of different colours.
3) the gradient is linear, from top to north, of radial, from a certain spot. I need the gradient to flow out in all directions from a un-uniform 'blob' roughly in the middle.
Can you please tell me how I can achieve my aim?
3) I had one more query when tracing my map ... I have two shapes and the paths align along one edge, think of the south border of Scotland, and the north border of England for example. At the moment I have these two paths running alongside each other but not joined. So if I didn't draw my pen accurately, there are small pockets where they don't touch. Ideally I would like to borrow the other path line for a time then leave it as it continues on it's own route.
Sorry if I mixed up the terms, I hope you can understand me.
Hope you can advise which tools I should be using, or some tutorials I can follow?

Thanks Mylenium. I've certainly learnt something from both replies. I have now finished tracing the countries using your paste and cut method. It was quite a tedious job! I also found using the lasso tool and direct selecion tool that I could highlight just the area that bordered the next county/country. My the latter stages I had to select multiples, join them and then add, delete more anchor points. I'm sure there must be an easier way to trace an image!
I tried the live trace, but the map I was using was too detailed it traced geography and not the borders. Anyway, I'm there now. Thanks for the advice.
I think I'm on the wrong track with the 'blob'. I didn't mean the blob tool on AI, but was referring to the middle content of my map following the railway line, which is the bit I wanted to 'stand out' from the rest. I have perservered and think I'm getting somewhere with the gradients.
Thanks also Skullmaster for the idea of gradient. It wasn't working how I need, but from your link I found how to make a 'transparent opacity mask' which I have used with a photo in the background to some effect.
It is a feature rich software and hard to know what to look for when I'm not sure of the terms. Unfortunately I have a deadline for what I'm doing and this map is only a small part of it. It will have to remain a work in progress as I slowly learn more techniques.

These are not generic wiggle or bounce effects. I have a bunch of expressions that I use to add bounce to a move. I think that's what's going on here. They help a lot. I have created a personal library of these custom effects and saved them as animation presets. Lots of them are based on the in and out point of a layer so there's no keyframing involved at all. I just create a text layer, position it where I want it to end up and apply my fly in from the left and drop out preset. I then adjust the in and out point of the layer and I'm ready to move on to the next part.
Click here for my fly in bounce drop out preset. Save it to your AE User Effects and presets library, and try applying it to a 2 second long text layer. Adjust the look with the sliders. When you build something you like learn how to save it as a preset and you will be well on your way to building a library of tools that will save you a ton of time. I've got more than 200 of these just for motion and the list grows with every project.

I am unable to mute the camera on my E71. I also assumed it was a legal issue. Recently a friend of mine, showed me the Iphone 3Gs take a picture silently. Silent photography with a cell phone is possible.
This looks like something for a symbian upgrade or even a third party camera app.

Have you turned the phone off? If so, and it hasn't fixed the issue, try a reset:
Press and hold the Sleep/On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for approximately 10-15 seconds. Ignore the slide to turn off indicator, and wait for the Apple logo to reappear. Release buttons. No content will he changed with this process.

I cannot use the software.. so you need to figure out where the problem is..
But let me suggest.. the Mac is not the issue and likely the info from Sony is also up the creek.. they make PC's after all.
It is far more likely the camera is having issues with the wireless network.
Do you know you have a connection to the home network on the camera.. ?? You have an IP address and some internet or local access at least?
How you will discover those things is by fiddling.. but if you can tell me what wireless AP you are using that will help.
