How to make a computer remember it's authorized?

Every time my mom tries to play or sync a purchased song, it prompts her to log in, then pops up with an "authorization successful (1 of 5)" window.
My computer (different than my mom's), though, just remembers that it's authorized and doesn't make me log in every time I use a purchased song (or even every time I purchase one).
My mom is tired of having to log in all the time. Can anyone tell me where the "remember me" setting is that my mom is missing? There's not a check box on the login prompt window, and I can't seem to figure out where it is.

Again, are you talking about genuine Nokia firmware, not any of some 3rd-party customised versions?
For officially released firmware, you may force Nokia Suite to reinstall even if your firmware is already up to date. This feature might be missed in its GUI as its link is "hidden" in the prompt message, not on a button or highlighted with underscore. Try Nokia Suite, once the phone is connected, click the icon of Software Update on the top, then click the word "reinstall" in the prompted message.

How to make my computer send all the audio through optical audio cable instead of headphone jack?

Howdy,
To listen to online radios or CD's played from my computer, I used to connect the computer to my home entertainment system from the computer's headphone jack to the AUX port on my home entertainment system.
I now wanted to get better sound and purchased the optical audio cable. However, I don't know how to tell my computer to send the audio signal to the home entertainmeny system through the optical digital cable rather than through the headphone jack. If I just unplug the cable connecting the headphone jack and the AUX port and only have the PC and the system connected with the optical audio cable, I don't hear any sounds. I suspect the computer isn't sending any data through the optical audio port. I'm not able to find how I can adjust the settings on my computer so that from now all sounds are output through the optical audio.
1) I'd like to do that mainly for my HP desktop (configuration below) and any advice on how to do that would be appreciated.
2) I also have a HP laptop (configuration below) and was wondering if that would be doable too (even though it doesn't appear to have a audio out, but it has HDMI out - can one convert it to optical audio?

I have read your post on how you are looking to make your computer send all the audio through an optical audio cable instead of the headphone jack, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To configure your desktop to enable the optical audio cable, I recommend following the steps below:
Step 1. Click the Windows Key Button on your desktop
Step 2. Type "Control Panel"
Step 3. Select "Control Panel" in the top right-hand corner
Step 4. Select Sound
Step 5. Under the Playback tab, right-click the white area below the devices available
Step 6. Select "Show Disabled" and "Show Disconnected Devices"
Step 7. Connect your Optical Audio Cable
Step 8. Select your Optical Audio Cable as the default device and click "Enable"
Since it is not possible to convert the HDMI out to audio out on your notebook computer, it is unfortunate that the notebook is not able to connect with an optical audio cord.

If you clicked "Never" then you have created an exception that you need to remove.<br />
Otherwise Firefox should offer to store the name and password on the next visit when you sign on.

How to make slicer to remember selected values while moving from report to another

I have Power View on SharePoint 2013 and OLAP Cube on SQL Server 2014 solution.
1) I select slicer values and graphs are updated
2) I move to next page on same Power View file and use slicers.
3) I come back to original reports. My slicer valuers are empty.
Is it possible to make slicer to remember selected values while browsing from reports to another?

This seems to a by design issue. The selected values within a slicer will be stored in Memory. When we go to another report, the memory will be released.

It can be frustrating having to forward to the last platback position when resuming viewing a media file.

If you load the file into iTunes then Front Row will then remember its last playback position.
Not ideal I know, but it appears to be the only workaround currently.

Go to System Preferences > Sharing > uncheck everything in the left window. If you're not sharing anything you won't show up.

How to make a page remember custom properties across user sessions

I found that a page "remembers/maintains" its state - for example, all fields on the page are saved even if you click on hyper links to go to other pages and come back to your original page, it will still have the data you entered. This even works for data table and sorting.
Now, if I add a custom property (i.e String customerID), then its value is not saved. As soon as I click on a link and come back to the same page, the value goes back to default value -- even when all the other components in the page have maintained it value/state.
I could make the property in SessionBean, but then my SessionBean will look ugly with way too many properties (one for each RowSet parameter, i.e customerID, partID, userID, shipmentID, and 20 other IDs, etc..). In the examples, they have used SessionBean for this purpose. I thought that since all components of a page remember its state, then custom properties should do that too, why not?

should do that too, why not?Many components can remeber it's state, even when not bound to a backing (session) bean, because there is enough information on the html code to let the FacesServlt rebuild them. Maybe with the aid of a hidden component you can keep some values without saving them in a backing bean.
I guess that in your case you may generate more session o application beans, and in this way keep your code organized and your default session bean won't grow so much.

I want to have iTunes sync with my iPhone controlled by my computer. In other words, only changes made on my computer are sync'ed. Changes made on my iPhone would not sync onto my computer.

Playlists are stored in the file iTunes Library.itl. If your backup method includes versions then you restore temporarily a version of the library that includes the playlist, export it as an xml or m3u playlist file, then restore your current database and reimport the playlists. Alternatively you can try option/alt starting iTunes and accessing one of the archived library files in your .../iTunes/Previous iTunes Libraries folder, export the playlist, then switch back to the main library file in the iTunes folder before importing the playlist.

How to make spatial computations use more/all CPU power?

In an service I'm calculating spatial data (using Microsoft.SqlServer.Types) in memory. These calculations often take 4-5 minutes but they are never, ever, using more than 50% CPU. I have tried this on a single core too (Azure) and still, CPU won't go above
50%. I'd really like 100% CPU usage in these services.
What to look for in the code? I've got a lot of loops and where possible I'm using AsParallell() to take advantage of instances with multiple cores.
Why doesn't the service just claim full speed on the CPU and get the job done twice as fast?

Can you clarify what it is exactly that you're trying to do?
you say that you're using the .net libraries to perform spatial computations in memory but then you mention that you also have spatial data (i'm assuming from the index comment) in the database..
Where is the bottleneck? on the db site for when you're pulling out the spatial data or on the .net app server that's running the service?
Is the query using the spatial indexes? is trace flag 4199 on?
I found that rolling my own tesselation function greatly improved parallelism in regards to spatial queries, although this is only applicable to point in polygon type queries eg return the name/attribute of the complex polygon in which the lat/long sits

How to make table of contents in IBooks Author?

I am having trouble with the Table of Contents in IBooks Author, I have completed successfully all the steps and pages,
photos and widgets, but have been stuck on the Table of Contents for months. I've Googled and searched for help,
but either don't understand or it doesn't apply to my book. I am trying to publish a Children's Book which really doesn't need
the Table of Contents, but apparently they won't publish without one.

Crafting a chapter-less book is possible, but a minimum of one section is required.
Remove the chapter label, leave the TOC blank and you'll then have a basic/generic point from which to work with. Use the 'File/Save As Template' menu before modifying further if you want to reuse later, etc.
Keep in mind that the default navigation means at the very least there will be a series of small dots along the bottom of the screen indicating sections, which when tapped will display thumbnails. If your book isn't doing that (landscape), try another template.

With podcasts or audio books from Audible.com, my iPod remembers the position in the audio file, so that if you listen to some music and then go back to the podcast or audio book, it resumes where you left off.

I've been transferring my books-on-CD onto my iPod, but its useless if I can't figure out how to make the iPod remember my position in the book. Rohan: You must use iTunes 5 and the 2005-06-26 firmware (or the 2005-09-?? for the Nano).
Get Info on an individual MP3 you want to make bookmarkable. Select the Options tab and check the box for Remember Last Played Position. I'd recommend also checking the box for Skip when Shuffling so the book won't be played when using the Shuffle Songs menu from the main menu.
Unfortunately there isn't a way to do this with multiple files at once, yet.
Like previously mentioned, they will not be set as Audiobooks but normal Mp3s.

How to make Logic auto-select channel when external instrument is selected?

I recently upgraded hardware and now have to upgrade the OS 9 software (MOTU FreeStyle) I've been using and join the 21st century. I asked a Guitar Center employee about what package to buy and stressed that I wanted the software to auto-select the midi channel since that was a major benefit (for me) in using FreeStyle. I was informed that all of the newer DAW software did this (which made sense to me, after all FreeStyle was already at least 10 years old, although no longer under development (hence OS 9.) Logic Express was specifically recommended.
Sadly, I don't see this capability in Logic Express. I don't understand why, if I have 15 instruments set up, and I select a new one, I have to manually look at each of the other instruments (assuming I don't have their channels memorized) and see what channels have been used so that I don't accidentally reuse the same one for the new instrument. Doesn't the computer already know what channels are unused??
In FreeStyle could have 25 instruments set up for a 16 channel keyboard, and as long as there was never more than 16 voices playing at any particular time, the software just managed the channels for me. I don't know what happens if you go over 16 for a 16 channel instrument, I don't think I ever did (I never had voices cut out anyway.)
Not to berate Logic Express, there's lots of cool stuff in it that I'm looking forward to exploring, and it sounds like you have to jump through hoops even to get MOTU's Digital Performer to emulate the same behavior and I suspect it's as much of a hassle to set it up as to just do it on the fly (from previous experience of "what a salesman says" vs. "what is real.") I'm just trying to figure out how to make the computer do the computer work so that I can do the music work.
I have lots of partial (and even some complete!) projects to port over and not nearly as much spare time as I'd like to spend playing. I'd rather spend my meager spare time composing, not fighting with the technology.
Any ideas?
