how to make a field in adobe form noneditable. like info keys..
when this form is sent through worflow the receiver shudnt be able make changes to the field value...(I have a form, which has fields prefilled(like pernr employee name) but these fields are in editable able..(i want only some fields to be uneditable not all)

You can make fields non-editable at runtime using this code:
field.access = "readOnly"

Hi Experts,
I have requirement in adobe forms where based on certain condition I want change the TEXT field accordingly.
Example if material number in of gas type than text will be "GAS MATERIAL" and then populating corresponding material number.
If itu2019s of hard goods type than text has be "HARD GOODS MATERIAL".
Please let me how this requirement can be achieved ASAP.

Yes you can definitely make a field dynamic. Bind the text fields with varibale of type Material Number and its description which will have to create in the context (Interface) of the adobe forms. These values you can pass from your driver program or Web-Dynpro.

How to make subforms editable in ADOBE forms

The 'Pagination' for few of the subforms are editable, and for few of the subforms are not editable.
Actaully i have to set the 'overflow' for one subform, but the whole pagination is dispaly mode.
(i can edit pagination for other subforms).

Can please explain the problem you are facing with more clearer words. I am unable to make out any thing from this post.
You might have some problem with Pages. We have two type of pages body and master. If a perticular subform is there in master page you can not edit it on the body page.

How to make a field in a form required when the prior field (a dropdown) has content entered

I have a table with 15 columns of various questions/topics (year, course number, instructor, etc) and 14 rows of input fields. A couple are dropdown menus, but the rest are just text fields. The client wants (most) of the fields to be required but the amount of rows used will be different for each user. So I'm trying to get each row of fields to only be required if the first field in each row (which is a dropdown) has a selection made (to avoid users from getting a required field error if they only enter say 3 rows of content of the 14 possible rows.) I'm assuming this will be a javascript if/then situation, but have been having trouble finding a similar example via google. thanks!

Hide a row or field in adobe form

Hi guys,
Can any one suggest me how to hide a field in adobe form.
My scenario is:
Using control levels for deliveries with item data, if the item line is only one, then I should not display any subtotal field, if item lines are more than one, only then i need to display subtotal field in adobe form.
Subtotals are maintained at item level not at the page level.
Can any provide solution with scripting.

One way is have some variable which tells how many rows of data is present. Check it and then make subtotal
visible or hidden. The script will be like below.

Adobe pro 8: how to make an existing secure encrptyed form unfillable after editing

Hello,
as the discussion topic says.
adobe pro 8: how to make an existing secure encrptyed form unfillable after editing? Is it even possible to do in adobe pro 8?
For work there's a secure and encrptyed form. I want to write in the form and save it so it will be unfillable / uneditable.
this form is not created by myself, and already secure and encrypted.
I am aware that in other recent adobe pro versions on how to do this, since they have a " save as a copy" function in the file menu. (adobe 8 doesnt have)
I've also tried printing as a PDF, but due to encryption of the form, that doesn't come out great.
Upgrading to a recent version of adobe pro is not an option.
I've also tried exporting as a picture files and then recombinding them to a pdf. I dont like this method and find it time consuming.
If possible please inform me of a way to solve this problem , step by step with adobe pro 8's features.
or
show me the equivalent method to how recent versions "save a copy" of a secure encrypted form on adobe pro 8.

Well after you use save a copy, and the security is disabled, you could then re enable security features and disable editing of the form.
EDIT: I just tested , with a PDF is in secure mode, even using a "save a copy" feature wouldn't work.
Would finding a program to desecure the pdf be a possible option?
Or is there a way to copy the form (with all it's editable fields) and paste it as an unsecure pdf?
You would then be able to make new security features.

Yes the field page n of m is used normally for printing page numbers. But it won't display the current page of total pages by itself. You have to set the run time property to n (current page ) and m (Total number of pages). Carefully select the # (current page ) and ## (Total number of pages). Hope this works for you.
My requirement is to have the user control on current page. For Example:
Example for a Invoice with 5 PO items (stands on 2 pages) :
1st page is the letter : no page number
2nd page is the 1st page of the 1st copy of the invoice : we should read u201C1 / 2u201D
3rd page is the 2nd page of the 1st copy of the invoice : we should read u201C2 / 2u201D
4th page is the 1st page of the 2nd copy of the invoice : we should read u201C1 / 2u201D
5th page is the 2nd page of the 2nd copy of the invoice : we should read u201C2 / 2u201D
Presently i cam getting the current page number for page 4th as 3 / 2 and for 5th page 4 / 2. I could able to control the total number of pages from print program. But when i am printing the second copy (4th and 5th pages), I couldn't able to control the current page number. I need to initialize the Current page count (4th page ) as 1.
I have used the follwing java scripting:
this.rawValue = wv_pages - xfa.layout.page(this)
where wv_pages is total no of pages calculated from print program.
Please help me in this regard with some formcal or java scripting conditions.

How to display Formatted text in adobe form

In adobe form, I want to display the text which is inputed by formatted text edit in WD ABAP application.
It is always displayed as plain text like '<p>this is test text.</p>'. I have set the attribute Data Format to XHTML, Field Format to Rich Text for the Text Field in adobe form. But it doesn't work.
How to display these formatted text?

I found Your blog and found it really interesting... though I was not able to use it: I (like Jun Li is asking, I guess) need to use a dynamic text, containing formatting informations (according the xhtml syntax).
I tried to pass it to the form by an ABAP-dictionary based interface and by means of the context (in a webdynpro page), but both tries failed.
Some suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

The requirement is, the user should not be able to append a new Row, unless and untill he enteres the data in the column SOLD-TO. Now how do i acheive making this field madatory. Normally in Edit form view, we can go in customizing and flag Mandatory, for table view we don't have this option.
Please can anyone of you guide me in this approach?

Hi,
As a work around create a warehouse SelectWH and map the mandatory acoounts as a On hold account(in chart of accounts).So there will not be any posting on this account.
And set this warehouse as default warehouse for all users.
So without selecting the appropriate warehouse the user can not add the document.
I think this might resolve you issue.
