How to make a round border around my picture?

I am trying to design a logo that would fit into the center of a Frisbie, yet I cannot figure out how to make a round border around the picture. I have tried using the eliptical tool, and have also tried using the cookie cutter. The only option I can get to work with the eliptical tool, is the feather, yet I can't change the pixel number for some reason, so it just makes a thin circle around the picture. I thought I could cut and paste it, but the copy and cut options were grayed out and didn't work. When I used the cookie cutter, it made a nice border, and I pasted the picture into it, but, there are four sections that need to be filled in with the background color and the paintbucket didn't work in those spaces (they are the gray and white checked areas. (the picture ends up looking like a rectangle inside of a circle). So I made a new blank file and filled it in with the color of the picture's background, hoping to use the cookie cutter tool around the picture that was now pasted into the new blank file (I chose another color for the round border) and I used the cookie cutter around the picture, but when it was finished, the whole picture ended up being white. All I want to do is to make a border around a picture (a round border). Nothing I have done has worked though. What am I doing wrong, or what are some other options for trying to do this? Thanks.

Here is a simple way to add a border. Select the item, add a blank layer, choose the border size and color and the Outside option:
Here is the result:
Note that you don't even need to do the Stroke on a blank layer. You can Stroke directly on the picture layer. However having the blank layer preserves the picture in case you want to start again with different Stroke options.
If this is not what you are looking to do, please clarify.

And how can i make everything without the HD Symbol transparent?
Hide the Background Layer and save a copy in a file format that supports transparency (psd, png-24, …).
What will you use it for?
Because vector data would make sense for printing, so Illustrator might be a better choice than Photoshop for this.

With the Layer that contains the shape selecected try Layer > Layer Style > Stroke.

  • How to make a round Slider with an image ?

    hello everybody,
I'm back and i have a new question : how to make a round Slider (like a volume knob) with an image ?
I see this very interisting tutorial : http://fxexperience.com/2012/01/fun-javafx-2-0-audio-player/ but it use a private class from com.sun.javafx.scene.control.skin.SkinBase...
    thank you for your answer.
    Gaëtan.

I'm guessing you could subclass Slider to create a class SliderKnob.
At some stage in the process, not sure where (perhaps after calling super in the constructor), you could look up the slider region's child thumbnail and track and call setVisible(false) and setManaged(false) on them, create an ImageView for your knob, add the knob ImageView to the slider's region and bind the ImageView's rotateProperty to the slider's valueProperty(). Not sure that that is any better than using the SkinBase stuff, but at least it is an alternative idea.
Everything to create your own controls has not been added to the public API, so if you want to make your own controls in the same way the JavaFX does them (i.e. with Skin's and Behaviours and stuff like that) you have to make use of com.sun classes unless you can subclass and modify the workings of existing controls similar to what is proposed in the preceding paragraph.

You would need an image editor to edit the images and add a border to the image first before importing them into Final Cut.

  • How to make a mask border

I just started using flash again for the first time in years and it has changed a lot. I was not very good at it when I was using it back when but I just made a little animation and I need to make a mask border around the canvas. I have multiple layers and folders and I want it all masked so that you can not see anything outside the canvas. Can anyone help me with this. And Please talk like you are talking to a retard cause I am not to far off right now.

if you're doing this in the authoring environment (as opposed to using actionscript), create a rectangular fill with width x height = stage width x stage height in a new layer above all other layers.  right click that layer and click mask.
now, with every layer in your project that's not indented below the mask layer, left click on the layer and slowly drag upwards a few pixels until you see a hatched line segment between the layer you're dragging and the layer above.  then release the layer and it should be indented indicating it will be masked.

  • How do I place a border around a imported image

simple question how do I place a border around a imported image.

An alternate 'hack' using EA UI, aside from Maries sound css routine.
Select the image element and explore/experiment with the Box Shadow properties.
Example below - both Drop and Inset 'faux' border.
    - set x, y and Blur to 0 and toy with the Spread integer using a positive value.
    - alter color property to your liking. I used black at 100% Alpha.

how do you create a border around text?

Can you be a little more specific about what you are trying to do and the application that you want to use? The methods can vary depending on the application and who published it. For instance, if you're using Final Cut Pro here is a discussion describing how the border can be created.

  • How do I put a border around my title, please?

I have a title page for a short video, edited in Premiere Pro, for YouTube.  I want to put a rectangular frame (border) around that title page.  I want the color of the border  to be the same color as the font in the title.  How do I do this, please?  Below are the three elements from Publisher - background, title and frame.  I want to combine the same elements in Premiere Pro. (I'm not trying to use Publisher in Premiere Pro, I am just trying to make it clearer what I am trying to do.) (I'm a rookie, obviously.)  Thank you.

    OK.
First of all the yellow line started life as a rectangle. I eliminated the fill by unchecking it, and added an inner stroke. To get the same yellow you used, I took a screen capture of your image then added it to my title as a logo. That allowed me to use the eyedropper next to the rectangle to sample your yellow text for the color of the stroke. When the stroke was properly yellow, I deleted the logo (your text).
Then I typed the text and using the eyedropper again, I changed the color to match the outline.
Adding a little bit of shadow makes it look better, by the way. Like this:
These are my settings for the above

  • How to make text stop wrapping around an image?

    Hello:
I am using RoboHelp HTML 10 on Windows 7, generating PDF and webhelp.
My project includes some images with text wrapping to the right of the image. I would like to allow a certain amount of the text to appear next to the image, then force the wrapping to stop at a specific sentence. I want the next paragraph to be aligned with the left margin instead of continuing to wrap around the image.
This is the effect I want:
I want paragraph A to appear next to the image, and paragaph B to be aligned with the left edge of the topic. It is OK for there to be some white space below paragraph A.
Is there a way to make this happen?
    Regards,
    Juliette Curtis

Thanks for the quick reply Peter.
I was able to create an image style that makes the text wrap to the right of the image. However, I can't work out how to make the text stop wrapping in a specific place. This image shows what is happening:
I want to allow paragraph A to appear to the right of the image and force B to appear below the image, as shown in the first image. The problem is that I don't know how to make B do what I want. Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks again for your help.
    Regards,
    Juliette

  • How can I create a border around an image in cs6?

I would appreciate advice on how to place a border around an image in cs6.
    Thanks in advance.

To add to the previous responses, if you want this only for 1 image on your page, you could either assign a specific ID or CLASS to the DIV that holds that image and assign CSS for that in particular like this:
    HTML
    <img src="./your/path/to/img.jpg" id="imgwithborder" />
    CSS
    img#imgwithborder{
border: 1px solid black; /* will render a 1px solid black line on all 4 sides */
Alternatively, you could use inline styling to achieve this:
    HTML:
    <img src="./your/path/to/img.jpg" style="border: 1px solid black;" />
    Good luck.

  • How do I place a border around one area?

I'm trying to work on a logo of two interlocking "G"s with one being gold and the other white. I need to put a gold trim/border around the white so that it will look better on a black background. • How to make a round color box?

Can anyone walk me through the steps in making a round color box?
    Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Do you need a color box because you want the user to pick a color or you want the vi to spit out a color? Or do you want the color box for some other reason?
If you want to make it open a color picker pallette, I don't know of a way. However you could always make a round decoration, make sure it is on the top layer and the refnum for it should be This VI.Panel.Decos[0], and then you can programmatically change it's color via a property node. See attached.
